I'm going to make this review short and simple. Get in your car, drive to woodman's, buy a frozen pizza. Drive home. preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Place pizza in oven for 18 minutes. Make a really stiff drink. Take pizza out of the oven, slice the pizza up. Eat cooked frozen pizza.... What you just experienced is about 100 times better than the monstrosity Tilley's calls pizza. They do have cheap beer which brought them up to 2 stars. But i brew my own beer, so let's knock it back down to 1 star. read more

The idea is flatbread pizza. The execution is wrong in so many ways that it's hard to know where to begin. The dismal basement location and the interior from the 1960's set the tone. I had to fight the urge to flee. I really wanted this to be good and I really hoped that fellow Yelpers who rave about this place would make me ashamed of my initial reaction. Yelpers, we need to talk about our relationship. You let me down. if you are falling down drunk from the bar connected to this place, then you can be forgiven for a positive rating. If you are a student on a budget that only allows for ramen noodles and cat food, you're excused. If you are a shut-in on the lam from the nursing home or a recent parolee, you get a free pass for giving this pit any more than one star. Everyone else, "You're Fired!" From the abominable industrial cheese to the bland sauce and sad veggies, this was pizza in shape only. The crust actually held up to this mess on top, which suggests that there is a kernel of potential if actual food were to be used for toppings. I ate my share of Dominos in college and i know that there are times when you just have to suck it up and eat what's in front of you but I've learned to expect more of pizza places now that I've seen how simple it is to make good pizza for only $1-2 more. I'm ruined by brick oven pizza in Madison and even by the decent frozen pizzas you can get from a few places now. Any random pizza in the supermarket freezer case would be an improvement over what this place serves. The only good thing is that this lesson cost me so little, less than $10, and I can use it to validate my urge to flee the next time I'm in a similar situation. There is an opportunity for someone to offer real pizza in this town if this place is managing to stay in business. read more

We were very disappointed. The place is clean. Service is ehh. But the pizza was the most bland and thin pizza we have ever had. (And we've eaten pizza all over the Midwest, Chicago and New York) The pizza wasn't even the "thin" one so I can't imagine it being any thinner. There was no sauce flavor, I had to ask for a side of sauce. Couldn't taste the pepperoni and the cheese was tasteless. All you can taste with the pizza is the basil. We also had onion rings and they were decent but very small serving. The wings were more like small breaded chicken or drumettes with ONLY a packet of hot sauce, not really buffalo " hot wings". I believe this place should be more of a meat and potatoes "family restaurant" and take pizza off their name. We've had better pizza at the Road Ranger on Gardner. read more

Great little neighborhood place! SUPER cheap prices! BLT for $2.50? Wtf Did not try their pizza though it smelled great in there, I wish I could have! Small town, family owned spot....unless you've had it, there is really no words to describe it accurately. Thin crust, savory sauce, love their fresh sausage (you can actually see and taste the fennel seeds)...it is unique and whenever I am in the area, Tilly's is on the list. Their recent demolish of the old building and opening of the new spot (same location) just improved their appeal. The new spot is nice, especially love the patio/outside tables. read more

If you like thin crust pizza, this is the place to go. Their pizza is delicious. My only negative would be that it is too oily however that can be corrected with a few napkins! If you are not in the mood for pizza try the burgers. They are a little small in size but taste great. I've also tried their jalapeno poppers and wings which were good. I have never been to the actual location but they deliver quickly. The pizza is delivered in a big brown paper bag-not a pizza box-with cardboard at the bottom to hold it together. The burgers and appetizers are delivered in brown paper bags too. I had never seen this done before but it helps to absorb all the oil, so no complaints there. Reasonably priced and probably the best pizza you can get in Beloit. read more

Best pizza around! We love the thin crust. Always perfectly cooked and seasoned! The cheese curds are great as well as the sandwiches. The other great thing about Tilley's is the prices. Had the thick crust pizza and it was not good. They should take this off the menu. It was not really very thick but it was tough like a stale biscuit. Very skimpy on all toppings including cheese and sauce. This made it very dry. Does not use high quality cheese like you would expect at a pizzeria. They have a first come, first serve, no reservation policy--I can respect that. But, whoever I spoke to was a jerk about it! There's no need for that. Too bad... I would gladly give Tilley's five stars if they would hire a friendlier cashier for their take out station. Uff-da! A unique pizza that is perfect for a party, dinner, or even an appetizer. I know people from as far as Chicago and Madison, WI, who go out of their way for a Tilley's thin crust. It's not an inexpensive option compared to corporate chains, but it is certainly one of the most old-school and unique pizzas in Wisconsin. read more

The good: I had the sausage pizza and it was pretty good. The sausage was especially tasty. The bad: The service. Our server was just plain rude. I had ordered an unsweetened tea and noticed there wasn't any sugar substitute on any of the tables. I asked our server for some and got and eye roll and a sigh as she went to get some. When she returned with the substitute, she very abrasively said " I don't know why people order unsweetened tea and then want to put this in it" I was sort of stunned that she would speak to me in that tone and ask such a silly question. I replied ":I'm diabetic" Then she asked why non diabetics do and I told her "I have no idea, you'll have to ask one" We asked if we could get the garlic cheesy bread without the cheese and she exclaimed "No! That's the only way it comes" I have never come so close to just getting up and walking out of a place mid service. We had to ask for drink refills and she slammed our pizzas onto the table when she brought them. I haven't had such a bad experience at a restaurant in a very long time, and I will probably never go back just because of it. I think I'm being very generous giving Tilley's two stars. I would give the pizza three but the service a zero. read more

Seriously the best thin crust pizza in the country. I've always done carry out but last night dined in the bar and it was fine. Service was okay and atmosphere was okay, but I do not come here for any of that. I wouldnt care about any of that.... because the pizza is spectacular. We got a large cheese and a large veggie. And let me tell you that the veggie was decent.... but the cheese, which is what I always get, is THE best! They use delicous seasonings on it... sooo good. The pizza has a very very thin crispy crust and the cheese and seasonings are perfect. They cut it in tiny squares, making it fun and easy to eat. When I'm back in Boston I literally crave this pizza from my childhood and stop in everytime I'm back in the neighborhood. read more

Tilley's has fantastic pizza. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza is always consistent. There are no canned mushrooms here. The dinning room is usually well serviced by ONE experienced waitress that is efficient. My wife and I go there so often that the waitress knows what we usually order and has the slip filed out before she comes to our table. I'm a diabetic and this pizza least affects my blood sugar because of the thin crust. Beyond pizza the rest of the menu is very good There is NO basement and Tilley's wouldn't appeal to the typical Madison, WI BBQ chicken foo-foo pizza. read more

I recently moved to the area and one of the first things I do when I arrive in a new town for a while is to scout out pizza places. Tilleys calls itself a 'Pizza House', so they're planting a flag pretty high on that hill. I have had pizza from coast to coast, I think there's something to be said for all the typical varieties...New York, Chicago, or Detroit style. Tilleys doesn't fit easily into any of those categories. It's a thin crust (think Monical's style, if you are from the midwest) and cut into squares. There is ample amounts of cheese and toppings are dispersed with good coverage. You'll not find the super stringy, pull apart cheese you may find with a thicker crust, but that's okay. The taste and flavors are good. Meat toppings will cause a fair amount of grease on the pizza, but surprisingly, the crust holds up well. I have tried Tilleys a few times now, and have only done carryout so I cannot speak to the delivery or dine-in experience. Thus far, Tilleys is my go-to place for a pizza, solid leftovers to eat cold and pack for a lunch at work. Good choice. Not a 'knock-your-socks-off' pizza, but definitely scratches a certain itch. read more

Went to a party with some friends who have celiacs. Normally their food smells and tastes terrible. This go round they had pizzas from Tillys. They told me to try the gluten free pizza, I passed and grabbed a slice of the all meat thin crust. Great tasting pizza. My friends laughed and asked how the pizza was. Then informed me I ate the gluten free pizza. WOW, THEIR PIZZA IS AMAZING. Still trying to figure out how they get it to taste so good. A+++ read more

Used to go here before I screwed up and moved to CA, We thought about it many times while we were gone. We moved back and are happy to say the pizza is the same, new building since we left but the pizza has not changed. The only thing I saw that has changed is the salad used to be shredded, now it is not. But it is always fresh and chilled. read more

The pizza tasted disgusting, like something you might get on sale in your grocers frozen food section due to freezer burn. Tilley's pizza will always and forever be my favorite pizza. I grew up on it being from Beloit and it has been consistently the same pizza for as long as I can remember. Super thin crust and flavorful sauce. I'm usually not a thin crust kinda gal but I love Tilley's. I always get tomatoes and extra cheese. I don't think I've ever had anything else from their menu. Their sodas are all cans so no free refills but oh well. Their dining room is only open for dinner and if you're not 21 or with a parent you can't sit in the bar side and eat you have to get it to go but that's not a big deal. And they have a good lunch deal, a small pizza (enough for one) and a soda for $5. I can easily eat half of an extra large pizza and still want more it's so good. The dining room's a little dim lighted but they're about to open a new building/modern building next door. Every time I come back to Beloit I ALWAYS have to have Tilley's. read more

Pizza was ok the service was not good. For our first time the server said "u either love it or hate it." When we walked in it was confusing where we were supposed to order pizza or sit then finally someone noticed that we looked a bit lost and helped us. Then they said their rule was to have the guy pay, which I was offended by bc it was my treat and I felt it made my date offended or feel embarrassed bc the plan was for me to pay from the beginning.
