Sam's has definitely gone down hill. My family has ordered from Sam's for many years, but tonight may have been the last time. We ordered a calzone that was supposed to have three meats in it. What we received was gross. The dough was extremely thick and tasteless, the sauce was thin watered.down thousand island dressing, and there was almost no meat. There was a single slice of salami, a single little slice of ham, and nothing else in the entire calzone. We tore it up just to see. It was basically an empty shell of gross sough. We called to let them know that our food wasn't made well and the woman on the phone was extremely rude. We also ordered a fish sandwich. It was hard, tasteless, and the bun was too thick for the safe thin piece of over fries fish. Their pizza has also been steadily going down hill for years. Sadly, I do not recommend Sam's at all. I would order Pizza Hut before I order Sam's, and that means a lot since I basically hate Pizza Hut. read more

My husband and I always try to support local businesses. This is why we have continued to give Sam's chance after chance. Don't get me wrong, the pizza is good and we like the Italian salad, but the staff are the reason we won't return. Ever. While I was waiting for my husband to arrive, my ears were assaulted by the language used by the two young boys training on answering the phone. I have been in customer service for over 10 years and what was coming out of there mouths wasn't fit for public consumption, let alone at the front of the house. And the woman in charge didn't stop it once. They were also bragging about all of the drive thru's they had been kicked out of. Super cool, kids. There was an issue with a customer who came to pick up her sausage pizza and was given a sausage and pepperoni pizza. The woman in charge insisted it was not their mistake, did not offer a solution and repeatedly said enjoy when the customer explained the several mistakes made during her order, including the quoted cost. She ended up paying for the pizza and said she would have to pick off the pepperoni for her family. As she walked out of the door, the woman in charge again said ENJOY. And then proceeded to carry on a conversation with the two boys on the phones about how the customer was lying. The only other table in the dining room requested anchovies on the side. The woman said you can get them on the pizza or off, no sides. How hard is it to put anchovies in a cup? Also, they only serve Pepsi products and were out of Pepsi. And it was $1.50 for a cup with no refills. Am I getting punked? Anyway, we are generally very good tippers, even if the service isn't stellar. Everyone has bad days. But we started with a $20 tip and took a dollar away for every swear word their staff said out loud and at the end of our dinner, there wasn't a single dollar left. Huge disappointment in our dining experience and the staff at Sam's. We will unfortunately no longer be supporting your business. read more

Have not been there in two years. Looked them up to get a phone number to place an order for an ORIGINAL Calzone (love them). Happened to see an online review that stated that they only received one piece of meat in it. Jokingly I told the order taker about the review and asked her about it. Her reply was " you get more than one piece of meat". Guess what?? I got three, ONE PIECE OF EACH OF THE THREE types of meat! I'm talking lunch meat slices. Very unhappy. Top it all off, the crust was soggy. The cheese inside was great tho! Person bringing out the order was not the order taker. She was very rude and impatient. We went there last Saturday night and there was only one waitress running ragged to keep up with all the tables. She did do a very good job under the circumstances. The food was really just OK. Pizza was greasy, shrimp basket was only marginal and the fish sandwich satisfied my picky grandson. The fried chicken basket was good according to my mother-in-law. The price was fairly reasonable for 8 people, the bill was $67.00 including some beer and a pitcher of soda. There are so many other resaurants in the Janesville area that we probably won't go back. This is my first review like this but since I use them a lot I should do it. The pizza was good. Gave a 3 tho because of a few things. The salad I paid $3 for just lettuce and was really small. No lemon for water. No refills I heard them tell ppl next to me . And the bathrooms were old and gross. I think they reuse the paper towels . I don't know I never seen anything like it. As we entered into the smokey and dark cave-like dining room we waited to be seated as the sign said. Several servers passed us until finally what we came to learn was the owner of the joint seated us in a dim corner. We ordered a great pizza and breadsticks meal but I have to say that the server was a little lacking. The 1 star is for the delicious pizza. The customer service is horrendous. How this place is still in business is a mystery. The woman running the place is a loud mouth who is not a bit concerned about your dining experience. She yells into the kitchen from the dining room. She hangs out talking to regular customers but ignores everyone else who needs things, such as extra napkins that it took her about 7 minutes to deliver to our table. We were one table of guests out of 4. She and the staff speak loudly about everything, they have no filters. The staff by the cash register play on their phones and occasionally get the energy to get off their butts and run the cash register. The dining room is dark and dingy, I can only imagine how unclean the place is. We gave this local business 2 tries and after pretty identical dining-in experiences we will not be returning. Give it a good scrub down, interior makeover and replace your staff then we may come back. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN TOWN! We call and order from here only on weeknights when I'm absolutely desperate not to cook and because the kids like the pizza, which I find super greasy. Anyway, won't call to order on weekends because they NEVER answer the phone and if they finally do, it's like you feel the need to apologize for inconveniencing them. If you call during week nights they'll still make you feel the same way but hey at least they're answering on the first or second try right? It always seems to be young kids (high school age) answering and they are so incredibly rude! After tonight's call it'll probably be my last, with the little brat who took my order and ignored my question. I don't know how this place stays in business. Not only does their customer service SUCK but the outside and inside of the pisspoor business looks like it belongs on an episode of Restaurant Impossible...stinks terribly inside too. Shame on the business owners. No matter how many complaints or bad reviews are made, they continue to allow such HORRIBLE customer service and don't even try to dress the dump up. Not that desparate for a quick fix....Next time it'll be McDonalds if I'm in that big of a hurry and I want crappy service and food that's enough to fill our bellies but doesn't taste great...kids don't know any better right? This place will nickel and dime you to death without telling you until it's time to pay. They don't tell you that refills on pop aren't free, the wait staff (actually the mom) was insanely unprofessional and forgot two things on our order. No apologies and even contested our having asked for the items. When we got to the checkout counter they charged us for the two tiny cups of ranch to go with our breaded mushrooms. One of the people in our party wanted to pay for his meal and was given a hard time by the staff because his order didn't total $10 or more and he wanted to use his card. Really? We couldn't believe the experience. This isn't a smear campaign, this is a real review. It was awful and the food was sub-par at best. I ordered a pizza at 7:00 and got my pizza at around 7:25-7:30 I live right down the street and when I got it home the pizza was ice cold.. so I called to let them know and I had the absolute worst service on the phone I have ever gotten from a company. I do not recommend going to Sams pizza ever the service is absolute shit. read more
