Tilly kitchen is new(ish) to the area. They have Tilly and Semicolon inside. Tilly's has more hardy food and you can purchase alcoholic beverages there. They have sushi, korean dishes, onigiri, and essentially is a food hall. You grab your food from either place, get a buzzer and find a seat. There are water stations and utensile stations for you to dress your tables with. It is a great place to work from during the day with ample chargers for your laptop. It's fun to come here with your friends and let them get different things. I really like the Katsu with curry and onigiri from Tilly's. I came here with friends and ordered some dishes to share with my boyfriend. we ordered the crab rangoon which came with this delicious plum sauce (highly recommend trying this). We also ordered kimchi jigae and the rose hamburger rice dish. The kimchi jigae was ok, it was kinda too salty and the broth was kinda thick. I liked how it came with different kind of toppings though! I really enjoyed the rose hamburger steak bc the sauce was sweet and salty. It also came with this yummy macaroni salad!! First this has nothing to do with their food. It is pretty good. However if you want sushi, it may be better to head over to Yuki just down the road. Tilly mostly only does Sushi on weekends. during the week they say only at 4 pm. Well sometimes it seems the sushi chef is not there at 4 pm. sometimes he shows up at 5 pm. There is a cafe in the middle that sells sandwiches, drinks, and desserts. In the far back, you can order food and pick up when it's ready like food court style. Unfortunately I was not able to taste the meat or other veggies because of the strong flavor of sauce. - Sweet and Sour pork: Not enough meat and too thick batter. Each pieces were very hard to chew because it was initially fried awhile ago and been sitting there. When the order was placed, they had to re-fry it again to make it look fresh. Not a fan. - Donkotsu ramen: Couldn't taste the bone broth and scallion oil at all. The pork slices did not have smoky flavor. Below average level of donkotsu ramen. We came to get some food and get some work done (they have a guest wifi). The space is so open and the tables are large and spread apart, so you can always find a place to sit. After eating, people leave their items on the tables, and it is taken away and cleaned up very quickly by the staff (who are all masked). They are also constantly going around and disinfecting any used area, whether you ate there or just waited for your food. We put in our order and it all came out very quickly (granted, we got there when they first opened). Also, my husband and I refuse to be normal people and order an appropriate amount food, so we ordered a variety of food. FOOD: ~ Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) (4/5): I loved this dish. I will say it doesn't really taste like a "traditional" tteokbokki, but it was yummy! Sweet and spicy (spicier than I thought it would be). ~ Bao Bun with pork Belly (3/5): The buns were nice and soft, and though the pork belly was rather thin, I was able to taste it in each bite. So far the things I've tried are: - chirashi - onigiri (Hawaiian, spicy tuna, bulgogi) - chicken katsu sandwich - okonomiyaki - yakisoba - jjajangmyun - budae jjigae - bao bun (bulgogi, pork) - battered fries - a few sushi rolls Everything I've tried has been very middle of the road, and some items I wouldn't order again. The service could use some improvement, there have been a handful of times where I've waited at the counter with employees blatantly ignoring me and not even at least greeting me. Ambiance wise it's basically a food hall with Semicolon in the middle. I personally wouldn't have come back as many times as I have had my partner not wanted to. I had checked this place out with a friend who I hadn't seen in a while and I was surprised at how small the venue was. The location is almost like an island, where it is located in the middle of a strip mall shopping center. I was half expecting "the block" esque set up but it was more concentrated. There was a bakery/cafe like stand right when you walk in and behind that was the more extensive savory menu that offered a variety of options ranging between Korean and Japanese. My friend and I were looking at the menu trying to decide what to get, and the server had called us up to take a look closer. He had recommended various options and we both ultimately landed on the Spicy Seafood Jjampong due to him saying he's never seen anyone finish an entire bowl. He also gave a time limit of 30 minutes and my friend even acknowledged that it was too much time. As someone who rarely leaves with leftovers, I knew I had to take the challenge. My friend knew this man was going to lose as she has eaten with me many times and I have never failed in finishing a dish. The bowl was an ample size, nothing too large nor too little. The bowl was filled to the brim with seafood. There were shrimp, mussels, a massive clam, squid and tons of veggies. The noodles could have been thicker in my opinion to soak up more of the broth but they had a nice chew to them. Very slurp-able. The broth was well balanced between umami and salt. The shells of the mussels and clam took up more space than the actual meat, which they provide a small bowl for them. If anyone is interested in whether I finished the bowl in the time limit, I had finished the bowl in 14 minutes per my friend who we had called to be the second verifier. Yes, I did enjoy the food for anyone who is like my friend and believes I just inhale. My friend on the other hand did not finish and took hers to go. There was enough left over that she could fill a whole quart container almost like she hadn't even touched it. The bowl of noodles also comes with a side of pickled radish that helps cut through the salt. I ordered the cream cheese dumplings as a starter. This was really tasty. It had delicious filling that was more than just cream cheese. It also came with a sweet sauce that was a lovely pairing. It's a fast casual food hall-like eatery with many different asian food choices - korean, sushi, noodles, fried rice etc. Good options if you can't agree on a specific cuisine as there should be something for everyone. We were feeling fried rice, tonkatsu and the katsu donburi and we were all happy with our choices. I liked the bulgogi, until I chewed something that had the texture of a mushroom. I don't know what the long brown things are, so didn't eat them. Unless that was what I tasted in the bulgogi?? We ordered Takoyaki, Shrimp Tempura app, Seafood Udon, Chicken with stir fried veggies, and BBQ seasoned fries. The Takoyaki was tasty and my son loved it. He typically doesn't go for this but he did here. The Seafood Udon was packed with clams and shrimp. The Shrimp tempura was piping hot and crispy and my son also tore this up. The stiry fry dish was solid and packed with meat and veggies. Finally the BBQ fries were deceiving good. Although it didn't pair with what we ordered, we still enjoyed it. The restaurant is nice and open. They are still doing some work with the center which I believe will serve desserts and drinks but was not open. Everything was great besides one minor detail. It represented crab rangoons. $5.50 for 4 seems a bit pricey especially for the area. The wagyu ramen had a strong pepper taste and was super salty. Out of the two dishes we got, only the sushi was edible. The chicken bowl was very basic and lacked flavor. We ordered the TK spicy chicken bowl and got a sweet chicken bowl instead. The chicken also appeared to be half cooked. They even charge a whopping 75 cents for a small sauce on the side.
