We visited Yu Noodles for early dinner several weeks ago since we were craving for some dumplings. The place wasn't that busy but maybe because we went during a weeknight. For appetizer, we shared Cucumber with Garlic Sauce which was so refreshing and delicious. For noodles, we ordered Flounder Noodle Soup and Beef Noodles Soup. I'm glad that they were able to make my noodle soup not spicy. For dumplings, we ordered Chicken and Beef Xiao Long Bao and Steamed Crystal Shrimp Dumplings or Hakao. The dumplings were amazing and very filling! The ambiance is very casual but nothing like your usual Chinese restaurant. It is modern and quite spacious. The service is good and I have no complaints. Even with closing time approaching, the staff treated us like we were the first customers of the day--there was absolutely no rushing and no pressure to finish up. The service is easily some of the best I've experienced. Beyond the staff, the restaurant itself is super clean and well-maintained, which is always a huge plus. This was my third Yu Noodles location. The restaurant had a warm and inviting feel. I was looking forward to the potatoes on the stick that they have at other locations, but I didn't see it on the menu. I got the chicken soup dumplings and it was delicious as always with the vinegar and soy sauce. I tried the mushroom and chicken dumplings for the first time and had it pan friend for an extra $1. I visited Yu Noodles with friends last week and would definitely go again! I got steamed dumplings that were very tasty; the dish also came with 10 for a relatively low price, which was quite nice. The soup dumplings were also delicious; the wrapping was a good thickness, and the broth was perfect. A lot of places mess up soup dumplings. The restaurant was clean and cute, and our server was so sweet and helpful! The only thing that bugged me was that it was $3 per cup of tea while most Asian restaurants have complimentary, unlimited tea. The noodles were delicious and the pork chop and extra peanut I ordered added extra crunch to it. The minced pork over rice were BOGO deals and came with eggs. I thought it was nice it made for a filling protein packed meal. I super appreciated the free parking and how quickly the order became ready. First time at this location; I've been to the others, so I know what to expect here. The beef noodles were good, but I thought the flavor was a bit lacking today. We also had really bad service here the other night - our server kept leaving while we were still trying to finish telling her the other items we wanted to order. It took me three rounds of orders to manage to tell her my drink order before she jetted off after hearing a couple items we wanted to order. That being said - I don't really care that much about the service in a restaurant like this - so my rating is really for the food. If you've never had Yu Noodles before, you would probably really enjoy it, but compared to other locations, this one doesn't match up. On the flip side, the quality of the food at the Herndon location has actually improved in recent visits (and was already really good), so I'll just be sticking with the Herndon location! read more

I patiently waited for over40 minutes... They seem to prioritize take out orders while making in-diners wait way long. I asked them how much more time I'd need to wait, I was told "5 more minutes".. which led to another 15 minutes, only then they brought out the wrong dish! I also never walk out but I did this time, as I had an appointment nearby there. I ordered food late on a Friday night for pick up. I ordered through the website, and pick the time for pick up. The only complaint I would give is that they don't send out confirmation emails if they have recieved the order and when the food is ready. The food was ready when I got there, so I guess that makes up for no confirmation emails. Back to the food. I love everything that I ordered. The noodles were so fresh and honestly the scallion is just the right seasoning. The chicken was cooked pretty simple but so tasty. Our server was very helpful and made excellent recommendations. We got the spicy mushroom w/peppers to start and it was just spicy enough. For entrees we got the N1noodles (house made noodles with bok choy and peanuts in a spicy broth) and the flounder with pickled peppers noodle soup. I did the pork soup dumplings and it was loaded with soup and the skin was soft and tender. It was very very good! We usually visit Yu Noodle in Herndon, but today we decided to try the new location in Chantilly. The Asian decor is modern and stylish compared to other branches. We ordered our usual dish, which was quite good. However, the service was disappointing. The young staff member was frequently distracted by his iPhone; we had to explicitly call him to take our order and get his attention again when we finished. We also tried to use a $10 Yu Noodle gift card we had received from another location, but he had to ask his manager if it was valid. The manager declined to accept it, even though the card was not expired. It's frustrating that a gift card from a different Yu Noodle location cannot be used here. Due to the poor service and the inability to redeem our gift card, we will not return to this location. Of course, there was no "Thank you " as we are leaving! One of the best Yu Noodles locations I've been to! Friendly, prompt and attentive service. I ordered the Yibin spicy noodle which was well balanced and just the right amount of spice. Also ordered the Crispy black fungus -- a kind of mushroom salad with vinegar for those not familiar with Chinese cuisine. It was very fresh and also had a balanced level of spice.
