I came in with the expectation that some menu items would taste similar to that served in traditional Hong Kong cafe "cha can teng". To my disappointment, the food is a mix of bubble tea, Taiwanese/mainland Chinese street food, and American fast food. I ordered the coffee/milk tea mix and it was super sweet. The tomato egg rice with chicken was average, the waffle was standard. The place was clean and neat. The tea house is located in the Lotte center which has many Korean restaurants. I came during the weekday so service was quick.

This is our go to boba tea spot! My favorite mango pomelo smoothie (less sugar) is hands down the best on the menu, lychee green tea (less sugar) at close second. I also tried the fried popcorn chicken which also did not disappoint. The workers are quick with great service. There are plenty of seats inside to take a break to enjoy the best smoothie/tea in town!

The popcorn chicken were perfectly crunchy on the outside with tender, juicy inside, coated in that crunchy seasoning, and came with a generous side of creamy, slightly spicy dipping sauce. The pork sandwich was phenomenal; it was tender and packed with savory goodness, fresh greens, and just the right amount of sauce to make it messy in the best way. The bread was flaky and toasted perfectly. The large iced horchata milk tea was creamy, not too sweet, perfectly balanced, with mini biscuit bits and that signature Hong Kong-style richness. Service was fantastic too. You order at the self-service kiosk, which is super easy and quick, but then they bring everything right to your table so no need to get up and wait at the counter. Super convenient and welcoming! The atmosphere is casual and cozy with a bright, clean, modern vibe with modest seating. It's a great spot to relax with friends or grab a quick, high-quality meal. Definitely worth the visit, and I'll be back soon for more!

This place was pretty chill. The staff greeted us upon arrival and was respectful. The restaurant itself is quite small but it wasn't busy when we came during lunchtime on a weekend. Of the 3 dishes we ordered, we liked the fried popcorn chicken the most. It had a nice texture and wasn't too dry. They also have a lot of options for sauce on the side. The peach oolong milk tea was lacking in flavor. I tasted mostly milk with a hint of oolong. The lychee yogurt tasted a lot better.

Stopped by and tried the popcorn chicken and chicken street skewer (spicy). Service was nice. It's a small restaurant but they do have a few tables to sit and eat. You can order online, in person, or at the kiosks. Popcorn chicken was just okay- it was over fried, so the texture was stringy and unpleasant. I thought the 5 spice seasoning was nice. The chicken had some fatty bites which I didn't love. The skewer isn't worth getting- it doesn't seem made in house and it's tiny (smaller than my palm). It seems like chicken skewers you can buy from Costco that they reheated and sprinkled chili flakes on. It was also salty. I'm curious to try the burger and starch sausage.

The taste of Hong Kong Coffee Milk Tea is tasty and delicious. The hand-beat lemon tea is awesome. It is on the sour side for those who like sourness and a lil bit of salty aftertaste. Very balanced. The inside is decorated with wooden tables and orange booth. Self-serve kiosk for you to browse menu and self-order. Chilling ambience. Recommended to come try and support local business in Centerville.

In a sea full of Korean restaurants it's really nice to see a Chinese restaurant in the area! This was my first time coming here and I ordered the chicken with tomato egg and mango pomelo smoothie. Everything came out very quick and the worker even brought the food and drink to my table. The entree was a very generous portion and the flavor was great! The mango pomelo was already very refreshing and I love the real mango chunks and jelly that it comes with. Ignore the matcha drink in the picture as I got that from one of the nearby stores. I would definitely come back if I need a quick meal or want a fruity drink!

HKTH is in a shopping center with plenty of parking. You order everything from 1 of 2 kiosks and your order is ready right away! There are 6 tables and plenty of seating! The two staff members that made my smoothie and dish were helpful in choosing the right sauce for me. I first had Chinese Spicy on the side, but it wasn't spicy at all. I was provided chili oil and spicy mayo, both of which were better options, but I'd probably get the dry spicy seasoning next time. The chicken was fried to perfection and stayed hot for a while! For smoothie, I enjoyed the Coffee Oreo Smoothie with Brown sugar boba, a first for me. It was DELICIOUS and I don't even remember drinking it until I was on my last gulp! I look forward to supporting this establishment in the future!

*Boba and Soft Opening Review* TL;DR: Mediocre boba and tea. Service is nice, but still getting in the groove of things, so be patient with them! This place is very new and seems like the staff are still learning how to make the drinks etc. They had 2 ordering kiosks, but I think you can order at the counter as well. There are currently not much seating available, so expect to take to to-go until they're fully furnished. Their menu is extensive with lots of options for teas, milk teas, snacks, food, and desserts, as well as tons of topping options. OUR ORDER: ~Mango Green Tea (3/5): I got this less sweet and no mango jelly or crystal boba, just regular boba. I watched as they made it, and there is a TON of mango syrup that goes in there, so even though I got less sweet, it was VERY sweet. Couldn't taste the tea at all. ~Thai Tea (2/5): could not taste even a bit of thai tea flavor. Tasted like sweet watery milk? Very disappointed ~Boba (3/5): boba was okay. Firm but soft on the outside. Had a decent chew, and okay flavor. Overall, I may come back and try once they're more rehearsed in their processes and maybe come to try their food.

I'm guessing this is a new establishment since there aren't many Yelp reviews? I was on my 30 minute lunch period from work and didn't pack any food so swung by to order the popcorn chicken and a boba. They do offer less popcorn chicken compared to other establishments I've been to. I wish they also offered a spicy version of it. Otherwise it still tasted good and came out hot. I ordered the taro milk tea as well and I felt it was about average. Most of their drinks appear powder based rather than the actual making of teas and making it into a boba beverage. I spoke with the owner and they're working on getting seating with tables soon in the establishment. That way people can sit and hangout. I wouldn't mind coming back again for a quick bite/drink, but I wouldn't say it's my first choice.

Great taro milk tea. Matcha was a little too milky but the taro was just the right amount of sweetness if you do little sugar.

One of the highlights of the night was meeting the owner, Jason. We bonded over our shared Cantonese backgrounds and even got to meet his aunt, who was visiting from California and happened to be sitting next to us. It made the whole experience feel incredibly welcoming and personal. We ordered the Dynamite Roll, which was a solid choice with 8 generous pieces, and the Szechuan spicy wontons, which were juicy with just the right amount of heat. If you visit, definitely grab a seat at the bar. The bartenders are friendly, engaging, and really add to the experience. We were treated to a complimentary shot of Jäger with Jason and even got to sample their Lychee Pearl cocktail because the bartender had made an extra. The cocktails really stood out. Instead of masking everything with sugary juices, they use extracts and creative techniques to build balanced drinks that complement the flavors beautifully. Jason also mentioned that their cocktail specials change every month, so we already told him we'll be back regularly to see what new creations he comes up with.

But what we did get was pretty darn good (if a bit pricey)! The style is much more authentic, so if you're looking for something like Hunan Cafe (Greenbriar), or that NOVA institution China King, this is different. Is it better? For the most part, yes. (But I still crave that Americanized sweet, spicy, glazey brown sauce that comes in slight variations in so many dishes). I had the hot and sour soup, Szechuan spicy fried eggplant sticks, Taiwanese rice noodles with fried tofu, and the Chengdu twice cooked pork. Everything was excellent, except....the hot and sour soup. Honestly, Hunan Cafe and China King beat the pants off this place's hot and sour soup. Here, it was a bit too sweet. It had some red chilies in it, but I could not detect much white pepper. And it's a vegetarian version, so no small bits of chicken or pork. I'd skip this the next time I order from here. But the other dishes... amazing! The noodles were light-tasting but still delicious. The eggplant was garnished with cilantro, garlic, salt, and red chili sauce. The twice cooked pork was sauteed with sliced leeks and the same red chili sauce. I think that's the fresh, zingy, spice flavor profile I like that can't be found at Americanized Chinese restaurants. Sure, China King has its place and I'll still go back there when I'm close (RIP China King Fair Lakes and Herndon). And admittedly, I go to that awful Panda chain occasionally because I never learn. The unfortunate thing is, I'll more likely go to these places than Cheng's because of the price. The pork dish was $21 and the noodle dish was $19. My total bill came to $60 before tax and tip. If I need to stuff my face with a Chinese umami bomb fast, I'm probably going to the other places for $15-30. I do want to try the rest of the menu at Cheng's, but it's going to be a drawn-out process for the sake of my wallet. I'd be remiss if I didn't include a comment from my dining partner. She compared the quality and taste of the food at Cheng's to Peter Chang's (either Peter Chang's-Herndon, or Mama Chang Fairfax). A high compliment. But she said the value is better at those places' AYCE options than what we got at Cheng's, and I agree. If you've been to none of these places, you have to try them all at least once.

If I had to pick one meat to eat forever, it would be that, no question. It's flavorful, cooks perfectly, and never disappoints. Their drinks are just as good. I usually get the peach or mango soju cocktails, they come in a big glass with shot glasses on the side, but don't expect a harsh kick. They're smooth, slightly sweet, and easy to enjoy. If you're looking for something stronger, the white peach sake is a great option, it comes in a bottle with glasses to share and definitely hits a bit more.
