I just took delivery of my new 2020 Malibu 24 MXZ Before going to Tillys I looked at boats used and new online for months. Priced them and even looked out of state thinking I might get a better deal out of state. Then went to Tillys in Norco and met Craig. We priced up a custom order boat that beat any out of state deal and I now have a local place that will take care of any warranty and general service needs. Super happy with my new boat and the customer service I received from Craig and Tillys.

    Supposed "new" impeller

I took my boat in for a complete inspection, and yearly service. This was on June 18. I had never taken my boat there but they had promised to get it out in a week or so and the Tige place was too busy, so I dropped it off. The boat had been sitting for 2 years and I sold it, it needed a service and a few other small items before I turned it over to the new owner. The week turned into 19 days and when I picked it up on of the items he said ( Tony, Service Manager) he could fix he couldn't, so I ended up taking it to Tige anyway. Now I've finally delivered the boat to the new owner. Who takes it out for a spin. In the annual service I paid $550.00 for at Tillys, they included a new impeller For those of you not familiar with inboard tournament/wakeboard boats : the pump impeller is a rubber like replaceable piece that if it is not replaced it wears it will break down then it will not push any water to your engine and bingo! Overheating and possible catastrophic engine damage. In the Tillys annual service includes the impellar replacement but ..... They didn't replace the impellar Boat overheated first time out, and lots of damage So. Tillys has terrible mechanics that forget what they don't have a system that checks those things? Or they purposely don't do the expensive service stuff you can't see and charge you anyway? I can't believe that, so my next email will be to Tillys to try to get $900.00 to the guy who bought my boat for the repairs . I will update review and let you Yelpers know if Tillys has any business integrity and takes care of an honest mistake or..... Stay tuned

Never followed up on a work order. Very disappointed. But I'm not surprised since that location has been historically bad.

The owner water tested the boat and came back with a giant black 3-4" wide by 10' long rubbery stripe down one side of the boat...obviously hit something like a dock bury etc. He said it was just exhaust marks...I've been around boating for 51 years and this was in no way an exhaust ring on one side. They had to use an industrial solvent to clean it off and ended up etching a one foot stripe on the hull of my boat...also a giant scratch, of course everything with this guy is debate. I had the boat completely cut/buff detailed just days prior with full set of pictures at every angle showing the gel coat and boat looking beat with no scratches or marks. I'll never go back to this place and hate writing this but the service and work done at GS Marine was terrible!!! Also, the boat was an absolute mess full of pine needles and covered in dirt. HORRIBLE customer service. The staff again however were very helpful and totally understanding to all the issues and very apologetic. Maybe it's time for the staff to open their own shop and turn out great products that customers are telling all their friends about ???

I bought my boat from Inland Boat Center in March 2024 through Taylor and Mr. Hellman. At the time…read moreof sale, the experience was excellent--very responsive, very friendly, and full of assurances that made me feel confident doing business there. I purchased a 2021 Manitou Aurora for $32,000, which I still own and have only put about 30 hours on. A major part of that conversation was a trailer they agreed to sell me for $2,800 out the door. I was told it only needed brakes and that I would get a call when it was ready. I followed up several times and kept hearing delays, including that the wrong brakes had been installed and they needed more time. Eventually the communication stopped completely. Since then, no one has followed through, no one has updated me, and now the original agreement is treated as if it never happened. Instead, the only option presented is a new trailer for around $7,000. I also recently asked what they would offer if they bought the boat back. After paying $32,000 and barely using it, I was offered $16,000. Even getting that answer took repeated effort because emails and calls were ignored until I physically walked into the showroom. Service has been equally disappointing. When I bought the boat, I was specifically told that because I am a Canyon Lake customer they would arrange pickup and delivery for service. When I called recently, I was told there is now a $200 transportation charge and that I would need to take it up with Taylor. I texted Taylor directly again and still received no response. I was also quoted around $1,000 for a basic oil change and impeller replacement, while other boat service centers quoted substantially less for the same work. I have been in sales for over 20 years, and one thing I understand clearly is that customer service after the sale matters more than the sale itself. What stands out most here is how dramatically the customer experience changed once the transaction was complete. Before the purchase, communication was immediate. After the purchase, promises became difficult to verify, follow-up became almost nonexistent, and basic customer service became a struggle. For anyone considering buying here: document everything, get every commitment in writing, and do not rely on verbal promises alone. Based on how this has been handled, I would not purchase from Inland Boat Center again, and I would not recommend that friends, family, or anyone I know buy or service a boat there.
