They want 2x original cost to fix the defective product they sold and installed ---------------------------------- WITH REGARDS TO TIM HOGANS RESPONSE: Your response reinforces exactly what I stated: your position is essentially "not my problem." This comes after selling and installing a floor that has proven not fit for purpose, deteriorating visibly within six months under normal residential use. At no point during the sales or installation process was I provided with care guidance or manufacturers written materials. The only instruction I received--after I proactively asked Penny post-final payment--was to use Bona cleaner, avoid water, and not use a Swiffer. Nothing more. There was no disclosure that: * Furniture or rugs could cause extensive damage * Normal light exposure would result in almost immediate visible fading * The product required highly restrictive or atypical living conditions (the need to choose between furniture or natural light) If these limitations are inherent to the product, then a reasonable expectation is that they would be clearly communicated before purchase, not discovered after failure. If this outcome truly meets your standards--and the manufacturer's--then the lack of disclosure at the point of sale is even more concerning. At this stage, the issue is not just the product failure--it is the complete absence of any effort to inspect, engage, or propose a solution. To date: zero accountability, zero assistance. read more

We had Tim Hogan replace our entire first floor with engineered hardwood and decided to add our steps as well at a cost of around $2K. The initial install of the first floor was okay but they totally botched the stairs. The stairs were previously carpet plus padding and the new treads didn't line up in any way, shape or form. Had we been informed before they glued them down, we would have opted to just have the carpet replaced. After bringing it to their attention, promises were made to try and improve the situation but were never followed through on despite repeated phone calls. Now, 3 years late, the floors are cracking, peeling and generally not holding up well at all. We payed around $6/sq ft and expected these floors to last! When I called about getting help filing a warranty claim, I was told the warranty was likely void because I had used a mop with water and cleaner at times to clean up big messes (and not the spray bona cleaner). What floor can you never get water on??? And of course the promised call back after they talked to the warranty company never came. Do NOT do business with this company! Recommended to us by a friend. We had them put carpet in 3 rooms and closet and vinyl in kitchen and bathrooms. Asked to have the transition pieces fixed when they did this and we were told they could do that. Carpet installed without issue, however the vinyl in the kitchen had major bubbles. No trim was installed and bad transition pieces were put back in instead of new corrected ones as stipulated. I was told they could not find the trim as it was discontinued, so I went to Lowes and bought the transition pieces myself (yeah, not discontinued). Took them a week to decide to replace the kitchen. Although no bubbles the second time, they put down 0 (zero) trim, so there are places you can see the floor throughout. When asking the installers about it they said they were not told to put down trim, but there was 3 pieces of 1/4 round sitting in the truck! They also only installed only the two transition pieces instead of corrected them all. I am now going back in to correct their work. Cannot recommend. Next to no communication, no oversight of installers. They just didn't care about what was put in. read more

Very satisfied. Quality installation of both carpet and baseboards. Baseboards were cut accurately and caulked all around. Looked very nice. Cleaned up after themselves and left the house in tip-top shape. Only issue was had to move install one day later than originally promised. Office staff were responsive and friendly... easy to work with them. This is my second time installing flooring and baseboards with them. I'll be coming back for a 3rd for sure. read more

I will be honest here in that my first two experiences with them were OK. Carpet in one room and wood flooring in three rooms. Although they should have done the closet, and left the carpet in there when they had the 6" feet extra wood. But the next room project for wood flooring was a problem in that they cancelled twice and then after I moved all the furniture myself out of the room were they able to call in a freelancer to do us both a favor -- he was NOT an employee. He was wonderful and I asked him if he did tile work as I need some done, and I thought with a name like Tim Hogan Carpet they didn't do tile. When I finally need to call the tile guy I had lost the number so I called Hogans. The man, who had been my sales guy, wouldn't give me the guy's last name or number as he wanted to charge me about 35% commission on the deal. No way was I doing this. I located his number on my Sprint calling log online and then decided to not have Hogans install my next $3,000 worth or carpet upstairs. A very poor business decision on their part. Job turned out so... so. Wasn't happy with padding, it feels lumpy under carpet. When I told the salesman that I didn't think it was the padding that I had picked out, he laughed at me and told me I would never be able to tell the difference in padding because the carpet was too plush. He was not only rude, he was wrong. I would never recommend this company to anyone I cared for. read more
