SUMMARY: Incredibly professional, incredibly thorough, and incredibly competent. We are so lucky that we did a little bit more searching when our almost-flooring guy wasn't very responsive and we gave Design Floors an opportunity. Glad we did. 5 enthusiastic stars! BACKGROUND: We were recommended to a flooring company by our realtor and I got frustrated by the untimely communication between us and his company. Finally I made the decision w/ my wife to end it right then and there and set an appointment with Siegfried (owner) who was very professional and sounded very competent over the phone. COMMUNICATIONS Let me tell you how impressed we were. After my initial phone call w/ Siegfried, I set an appointment and asked my wife to reconsider and meet Design Floors. Siegfried was always on the spot with anything we asked for. He even provided samples for my wife to take back to our new home and we laid them out on our floor to decide. We finally settled on a color and made an installation appointment. One thing we appreciated is how fast he would answer our questions. If it wasn't by phone, it would be text. INSTALLATION / CREW My wife was representing us at our home and keeping her keen eye on things. She was especially pleased, and as a former corporate interior designer, she knows where companies/contractors will short cut installs. According to her, they did everything right. We put in vinyl flooring throughout the entire home except the master bathroom (we have pets; i have bad allergies) and it looks gorgeous. Because our house was completely empty, they were able to finish our 2,400 sq ft home in 3 days. Might be longer if you have furniture. The crew was led by a man named Elly (sp?) and he and the guys were very respectful of our home and took care to make sure things were clean after every day. They took away all the refuse from the demo and took away boxes and other misc sundries after each work day. Siegfried arranged the plumber whose prices were competitive with market rate. There was an accident (small hole in wall) while moving a piece of heavy furniture but Siegfried decided to take care of it on his own dime. Wow, we were impressed! PRICING Speaking of pricing, his rates were competitive with the 3 other shops I called for estimates. PICS These are just a few shots. DO NOT USE as John Carroll, the business owner, refuses to be accountable for what I qualify as poor quality of labor. Example concerns I presented to John: Floors were installed without regard for manufacturer installation instructions resulting in a void of warranty, boards laid askew from other boards, and boards misaligned from being squared with home. Having to take legal action. I sent him numerous additional screenshots beyond what I have attached to this review depicting concerns across my home. He insulted me by calling me irrational. I will let the publics opinion of this business' quality of work determine the rationality. In my observation, it seems John is happy to remediate concerns that likely wouldn't significantly impact profitability. However, I feel that if the concern presented is significant he will dispute it or offer to remediate it in a way that is not aligned to my 100% satisfaction as the business claims will be done on their website. For example, I expressed boards were not laid straight/properly aligned resulting in cascading gaps across my floor. He claimed the gaps are caused due to expansion/shrinkage of materials and that they would provide scientific literature from the manufacturer with further explanation. After I had ceased direct contact with John, he provided me with documentation from the National Wood Flooring Association, which I'm honestly not sure if he read or not, because in my interpretation of the materials he sent, the gaps on my floor are categorized as ABNORMAL GAPS caused when boards are not laid with intent. Added a screen shot of part of the artifact. I want to be clear that the previous paragraph is only further detail of 1 of multiple outstanding concerns I have. I have updated my review in order to ensure that all statements can be proven in fact or that the statements are clearly expressing that they are my opinion. I have done this because John contracted an attorney who wrote me a demand letter requesting I remove or retract information from my reviews. Instead of outright removing my post, I have chosen to willingly comply with one of the demands in the letter and I will continue to exercise my First Amendment Right. I will continue to update my review with progress related to this dispute so local patrons can formulate their own opinions, based on my opinions and experiences, regarding who they contract to do work in their cherished homes. read more

We had Design Floor replace the tile in a couple of rooms & a hallway 18 months ago. Since they did a great job we decided to have them gut and redo our master bath Adam, Bernard, Giovanni, Leo, and the rest of the team did an outstanding job! They listened to our requests/concerns, communicated well, minimized their intrusion (as much as possible in a large remodel), and provided us the bathroom we wanted. The couple of minor issues we had, insufficient pressure on hand-held & awkward angle on the shower head (Moen's issues, not theirs) they solved quickly and professionally. The wood floor in my powder room needed repairs. I called several companies and got estimates. After receiving one review at a very lowball price I had decided to use that company but then they ghosted me. You can offer to do the work for free if you never show up. I called John, who had come out previously to provide an estimate, and we scheduled a time for the work to be done. On the day, Noe came out and and took the old flooring out down to the slab. He put down new sub flooring and then the wood flooring that exactly matched my original oak floor. The stain was questionable because the floor was so old. But Noe showed me some samples and I picked the darker color. They finished up the next day and it looks perfect. I'm so glad I had this company do the repair. They also fixed a couple of spots outside my kitchen where foster dogs had peed and caused the finish to crackle. It now looks perfect! This repair was done quickly, and Noe cleaned up everything before he left after the first day, then again the next day after he finished the job. I cannot say enough good things about Desin Floors - from my initial walk through the door to the completion of project - professional all the way. Rholetta Lloyd was friendly and attentive. I came in with a sample of flooding installed by prior owner 5 years ago. She found a dead on match. I would bet that the new floor would match the old food seamlessly if they butted into each other! We pulled the carpet in the office, now quilting room and the upstairs loft area. Bernardo and crew were professional and best of all left the project clean, putting furniture back where they found it. They compled it in less time than estimated and did a GREAT job. We are very happy with our floors. It's been a couple of months and they are just fabulous . Siegfried was very patient with us, as we were deciding between carpet and laminate he had to come and measure several times and had samples to look at in the house. The installers were amazing! On time, worked hard and fast. They had to tear out carpet and tile they had it done and cleaned up in one day. We were told it would take 7 days, they were done in 4. They were courteous, smiling and cleaned up every day. We just had all of our floors replaced, by Design Floors in Lewisville, with engineered wood and carpet as well as some stone work done. They were very eager and friendly and actively communicated via text and phone sending and receiving pictures of other options and such. Installation was good. A few of the boards are very slightly uneven but not noticeable enough to have them rip it all up and redo. The stone work didn't quite go in tightly enough and they couldn't be bothered to shave off the one little bit here and there that kept the pieces from fitting better. I had to give them direction on how to make it look better. The carpet install is great. I love the new look in our rooms. Overall, the flooring looks really good. If you do use them, be sure to double check with your own eyes exactly what is on the bid and what you agree to as we had a misunderstanding that the owner proactively stepped in and took care of. read more

I recently had a slab leak and needed the entire downstairs flooring replaced. They came in after all the other repairs were done and were able to match so closely what I already had (it was a discontinued product), that no one can tell the difference, which saved me from having to replace the stairs and upstairs flooring.
