We didn't stay in so we wandered the store side a bit. There were a lot of ready-made meals like pies and sausage rolls and ice creams. You could pick up a tasty sweet treat, some freshly baked breads, and a lot of lovely dessert options. They also had some local goodies like County Bounty sodas, jams, teas, and others. I picked up a few local goodies and then a cinnamon bun (which was massive!) and a ginger cookie. The ginger cookies were delicious. Soft, molassas cookies with that chewy texture. The cinnamon bun was huge and more bread-y than sweet, which I really liked. It had such a great flavour. We wanted to grab some pies too but we couldn't bring them on the road with us. Definitely gotta bring a cooler next time we're heading into Kingston. The staff are also so friendly here and do their best to get through the crowd in an organized and fast way. Can't wait to be back

We had to reheat the sausage roll at home as they did not offer to do it in store, which was fine since we weren't planning on eating it right away. It was just ok, it had a lot of minced meat inside. The croissant was good but not the best I've had.

A gem of a bakery and cafe in downtown Kingston!…read more My review is only for the bakery and store portion of Pan Chancho. I haven't had the chance to dine in the cafe yet, mostly because it gets extremely busy, especially on weekends. That said, the bakery/store has so many great finds. Their bread is excellent quality and a great value for the size, at around $5 for a small loaf and $8 for a larger one. My favorite is the olive rosemary sourdough, which is absolutely delicious. The saucisson sec is another great local find. The baked goods offer a nice rotating variety, with everything from Québec maple chômeurs to Italian maritozzi. On my last visit, I tried the Vietnamese coffee panna cotta, which was excellent. There's also an large gluten-free selection, ranging from breads to fresh-baked goods. The gluten-free scones are a particular standout. Beyond the food, Pan Chancho also has a great selection of kitchen and pantry-related items, including spices, pasta, sauces, hand towels, reusable bags, and more. It's the kind of place where you can go in for a loaf of bread and easily leave with a whole bag of interesting little things. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in downtown Kingston! The bakery alone is reason enough to visit, even if you don't get a chance to sit down at the cafe.

Coming from NC, the filling tasted like the inside of a pecan pie. Delicious! My Americano coffee was strong and hit the spot. My MIL and I also purchased baguettes and a cinnamon roll. The outside displays are always enticing; everything from fresh herb plants to produce can be seen as a backdrop to a small outdoor seating area, which is a great place to chill once you've grabbed a quick ready-to-go item for a snack or lunch. Typical items are sandwiches, fresh pizza, baked goods. Also, coffee is pretty decent. I'm a big fan of their move to support gluten free products. They currently carry Purest, a brand that's based in ON, and every Wednesday is gluten-free day; they have pizza and sandwiches that are really yummy. And, today I even scored a GF brownie - delicious. Prices definitely reflect the quality, which I won't complain about - it just makes it a more occasional stop for me.

Delicious soup, spinakopita and other goodies. They sell almost all local produce, with some flux during the winter months. Lots of meat, cheese options as well as veggies and a growing section of other staples like flour and beans. CSA drop-offs also abound here and it sort of turns into a cool little hub of activity in the summer. Not really much by way of seating area except during the summer time when the outside area turns into a patio area. Also probably some of the best coffee in Kingston. Bueno bean is the bomb.
