We enjoyed the adjoining shop and their selection of jams and spread. The wait was worth it! The room is a bright large room overlooking the river. Handmade quilts hang from the ceiling. We started with nachos, that had the right blend of cheese and toppings. Unfortunately there were no side plates brought, causing us to eat like animals from a common trough. A slight mishap with a spilled glass of water interrupted our otherwise pleasant appetizer. The server's attention was less than prompt causing us to get extra napkins from directly behind the counter. Still, we soldiered on and prepared for the main feast. The seafood chowder was one of the better ones all trip. Fresh and flavourful pieces in a cream broth, served with a fresh side biscuit. The real opportunity is to highlight the delicious jams and spreads from the shop which would add some much needed flavour to the biscuits. Other meals included kids pasta, kids jam sandwich, a club sandwich, fish cakes and a Caesar salad. All were promptly devoured. A great location with fresh food and pleasant service. Worth the wait!

I could have done without the jam as the strawberry was breaking down a bit. The teas were delicious! Lavender Earl Grey and Lemongrass ginger plus a hot choclate. The cashier was not as knowledgable about the teas or desserts and so we didnt purchase any. By this time a man came In Behind the counter but I was unable To make out his name tag ,he acted in the position of a manager and I was waiting for the drinks still to come. He asked what the drinks were and when I told him he said that they were speciality drinks and took time to make. Except It Was brown . Not sure when white drinks are turned into brown drinks but like ok ? So I said to the girl this is not a vanilla bean Frappuccino and she argues and say yes it is !! Finally the manager ? Man came over and said that's not a vanilla bean Frappuccino it's brown so once again waiting for the correct drink to be made. As an avid Starbucks drinker I have to say i was ready to ask for my money back ! I enjoyed their raspberry mousse a lot (it was more like ice cream texture but great for a hot day) as well as their chocolate mousse / scones with clotted cream. I like how there's options to just get a pot of tea with a pastry which makes it a more affordable way to enjoy some tea :) There's a selection of Jassy house teas and also some TWG teas, we tried a peach black tea and a green Korean one which were gentle and floral -- they also sell the teas as well!
