I really like this Care home a lot my great uncle Dave is in this care home and I really love it. I went to go visit him. It was really really fun. They don't have enough staff to take care of the residence and they don't get care due to that, the doctors that they see them drug them up so they don't know what's going on and it makes their condition worse. The employees leave them in their depends for hours which causes bed sores. They do not provide enough care to keep your parents or grandparents alive. If you want them to die this is the place to send them. They don't pay the good caregivers enough to stay so they employ highschool students and people who have never had experience so they can save money. My experience has been very disappointing to say the least. My brother has been in this facility for almost 4 years now and it's heartbreaking. I wish we could move him but since he has dementia and is used to the facility we are not. I am not in charge of his care, so it's not my decision. The people who work there are cold and uncaring. Whenever we go there he is starving and thirsty. He has lost a lot of weight and they say he won't eat, but he is so hungry when we go there and actually give him the food. I would like to share my experience with you about timber ridge. My mother had brain surgery about 10 years ago, the doctors did not know if she would recover. I was in my early 40's at that time and had been caring for my parents for the previous 6 years. I worked full time and I was a single mom. My father had passed. Prior to my mom having brain surgery she had broken her pelvis and was sent to a rehab in eureka. I was shocked at the conditions at the rehab and pulled my mom out and cared for her at home while she recovered. So when I was faced with full time care for her again I was in a panic. I was introduced to Larona Farnum. Larona came and met me at the hospital where my mom was recovering. She was kind and caring. She explained they had a specialized Renaissance Facility which cared for people who were experiencing brain injuries, Alzheimer and other serious issues. It is a safe environment with round the clock care. I placed my mom there and was relieved that she was in a clean, caring & safe environment. My mom lived at timber ridge for nearly 10 years, she was able to leave the renaissance facility and live on the assisted living side. There are activities such Bingo, card games, happy hour in the early evening and trips to various places on the Timber ridge bus. The dining is award winning & the facility is like living in your own home. It is clean and cared for. I want to add that Timber Ridge also assists the families by keeping meticulous records regarding medicine and care. Every doctor appointment we had we were sent with the most recent medicine list to assist the physicians and nurses with her up to date information. My mom visited many doctors for various illnesses and this was very helpful for her care. I do not think that people really understand the seriousness of having an ill family member that you cannot care for on your own.
