My 2013 VW Beetle Convertible had what looked like a serious window leak during a massive rainstorm and on top of that my brake light was out. The dealership couldn't even see me until Thursday! (Today is Monday). Grayson got me in today. He and his master mechanic Tommy personally took a hose to my car to diagnose the leak with no runaround. As it turns out, it wasn't the catastrophic leak I feared. At the same time, Tommy replaced my brake light quickly and efficiently. And, Grayson took great care of me- without a doubt amazing and straight up outstanding customer service. All my problems are resolved. Whew!!!! These guys are honest, knowledgeable, and they actually care. And to top it off, Grayson even identified the likely cause of my heat issue that the dealership wanted to fix the expensive way. Other than that they totally failed. The day the car was towed in I met with a service tec who told me they would start tearing down the truck the next day to do an estimate. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing I called. I was told my service tech no longer worked there. I told the lady on the phone, "that's your problem not mine." So then I got a new service tech who repeatedly mislead me, missed deadlines, never retuned calls. What's more, I told him I had an aftermarket grill panel and was told that State Farm would only pay for Ford stock items. So I told him, I had the original chrome Ford grill out in my garage and they could use that one and I dropped it off. He asked if they should compare my old grill to the one they were ordering from a used parts house and I said NO. When I came to finally pick up my truck they had used the new used grill anyway. The cost was only $288, and since I had waited 6 weeks for my truck I just decided to take it anyway. Then a few days later I get a final estimate from State Farm and that $288 grill now cost $950!!!!!! Are you kidding me? It's plastic and I plan to remove it anyway and replace with the aftermarket grill. So State Farm is the one being ripped off. Maybe I should just let it go but it galls me that they would rip everyone off at the last minute. My final bill went up $2000! That is just criminal. I have no idea if a guy named Kenneth still owns the place but if he does, he must own a mansion and have membership at Kingwood Country Club with all the scammed money he has made. 1 star is the lowest and that is what Kenneth's gets. I recently went to NTB in Houston to address a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning on my…read more2018 Chevy Trax. My dash was only showing issues with two tires/sensors, and I was told over the phone that if I came in that day, TPMS replacement would be discounted (about $79.99 per sensor instead of $125). Once I got there, the story changed. The staff told me: All four TPMS sensors supposedly needed to be replaced One tire needed to be replaced as well And that even if they only did the two sensors I came in for, the TPMS light "wouldn't go off" This didn't match what my dash was showing, and they didn't provide clear evidence (like a printout of sensor data or codes) to justify why all four sensors were "bad" or why the tire needed to be replaced. It felt more like pressure to approve a bigger job than an honest explanation. Because it didn't sit right, I left and got a second opinion. Their tech: Scanned the TPMS system and found only three sensors actually needed replacement Confirmed there was nothing wrong with any of the tires Replaced the three sensors, performed the relearn, and my TPMS light is now off So compared to what NTB told me: NTB oversold the problem: they claimed all four sensors and a tire were bad, when in reality only three sensors needed replacing and the tire was fine. NTB's pricing was higher per sensor, and their "if you come in today" discount felt more like a sales tactic than a genuine deal. Their statement that fixing only the known bad sensors wouldn't clear the light turned out to be false once the second shop did the job correctly. I understand TPMS sensors do wear out with age, and I'm fine paying for legitimate repairs. What bothered me was: The jump from 2 sensors (what my car indicated) to 4 sensors + a tire The lack of clear, transparent diagnostics The pressure to make the decision immediately to "get the discount" Because of this experience, I won't be returning to this NTB location for future tire or TPMS work. I'd recommend anyone going here: Ask to see actual diagnostic results (codes, sensor readings) before agreeing to multiple sensors or a new tire Get a second opinion if they suddenly recommend replacing all sensors or tires without clear proof Compare their quote with other shops; you can save a lot and avoid extra work by doing so In my case, a second opinion saved me from paying for an unnecessary tire and an extra sensor, and confirmed that NTB's recommendations were overstated. Use this shop with caution and make sure you verify what they tell you before approving expensive work.
