The place still looks like a dump and definitely needs love, but I guess if their property does not get a lot of guests, then it does not get a lot of guests. They been in remodel for two years now. Their sports book is on the ground floor. The ground floor has really old machines. I did not have luck overall. I ended up losing fast here no matter what game I played around here and could not coin in a lot of points like maybe 300 points. Drip machine in the room offered only one (not two) coffee trays in a plastic cheap plastic tray that is inserted into the machine. No place to sit that isn't just a lobby chair at the entrance. Bugs in the bathtub and bathroom sink area. Toilet wouldn't flush (maintenance had to come with a plunger), carpet was "sticky" (no idea what substance was in the floor). It was gross and felt gross the entire time that we were there. If our scheduled event had not been in this hotel, we would have left immediately. Do not book your stay here. Shoutout to the maid service...even though this place was a dump, the maid service did their job well.

Bar is nice and folks were actually using it, which was great. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. Loved the staff. When we checked out they'd already brought our car around. Our room was on the second floor and was very pretty. We loved the decor, made us feel fancy at as standard rate. Bed was amazing, room temp was perfect, and there was plenty of hot water--so all my must-haves were checked off. Because the building is historic there are oddities. We see them as a feature. We had a window that opened to the lobby below. Hallway art is amazing. Each room named for an artist. Love that. The location is great for walking to downtown restaurants and clubs. Not a huge nightlife, but there's plenty of good restaurants and bars walkable to the hotel. It's a little far to walk to the casinos at night, but an easy Uber/Lift. This is the only place I will stay going forward when I make the annual trek to Shreveport.

Our server, Austine, was exceptional--attentive, friendly, and truly helped make the dining experience memorable. While Lady Luck wasn't exactly on our side this trip, we still managed to hit the jackpot when it came to customer service. Anya at the Promotions Desk went above and beyond, providing outstanding service with a smile and making us feel genuinely valued as guests.
