Notified desk. No alternative room offered. On two consecutive days, two different maintenance staff unable to repair; needed replacement, none available. Was working with a local realtor one morning at this unit's kitchen table when a person without knocking ENTERED ROOM, then, quickly left without a word. Numerous front desk visits and two phone calls by me after checkout over a two week period, found General Manager, Mr. B..., unavailable. On 9/4/2025, I received a return phone call from General Manager. Was told he and an Asst. Manager found lock on door of said unit operable and working. During my four night stay in the one bedroom unit nearing $400 per night for room and attached room fees with an inoperable interior security door lock, I was credited $25 per night ($100 total). I expressed compensation was inadequate. General Manager said he would look at interior lock again. If still inoperable, he would reconsider additional compensation. I requested a call back on his findings. Will add to this post at that time. (Note: This was my third stay at this resort over a fourteen month period.)

The room was nice and cozy warm too. It would have been nice to have a channel to know what we were watching but we were gone a lot. Room service was great too! Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. One thing, feedback wise, is maybe to put a door before the hallway where the rooms are. The voices echo in the lobby and we could hear them all the way down the hallway. A little thing, but we noticed it. We would definitely stay here again, it was delightful and a great find!!

The owner emailed us within 10 minutes of reserving online letting us know they would have a room ready. Yesterday was so disappointing. I don't think we're coming back. Several things . We were the only ones there at 11:30. We noticed....They have moved the grill from outdoors to indoors, which creates a huge timeline lag , from when you order to when you receive your food. We ordered six bratwurst, an order of chicken strips, chips, that's good tots, beer. The Brats were long and narrow( not plump and juicy). They were overcooked, super dry, and no flavor. The only thing good were the onions and mustard. But for 90$ worth of food ... the value killed the ambience. Our order took over 20 minutes to receive, hey we're on vacation and while the time wasn't terrible, but we were surprised as they were not busy. Things change over the years and the food quality this year is poor. Eat at your own risk.

Property lines up along a scenic lake with a foot bridge to get to the boathouse. Plenty of grey, black, and orange/red squirrels, chipmunks, and seven deer roam the grounds. We saw the deer at sunrise and dusk. Open the curtain to the siding glass door and the deer look right at you. *Photo op I tell you. The kitchen is stocked rather well with most cooking and serving items you need for meals inside. Patio has a small grill. Our two bedroom two bathroom unit has one bathroom on each level. That means no master bathroom. We made it work for us for the time we were here. One thing we didn't like is there wasn't any extra boxes of tissues. We came for Spring Break and we have seasonal allergies. Thankfully we didn't run out of tissues. There was plenty of towels and tp, oh and blankets. Decorated in mountain cabin and bear motifs. Sturdy (and clean) chairs, couches and rocking chairs. Plenty of places to sit and read. Master bedroom has a sliding glass door that leads to a private balcony. Lower level sliding glass door leads to a patio that's part of the common area. And deer hang around here. Located an hour or more from several ski resorts in both WI and upper peninsula MI. Keweenaw peninsula is a great day trip from here.

My room this time had new furniture including the bed. I was also impressed with the pillows that were bigger than pillows in other Northwoods motels and cabins I've been to. While the bathroom as been remodeled the shower itself was a bit old. Almost like old concrete. The bathroom I had last time had a new shower. Seems the owner is working though improvements unit by unit. He was painting one unit on my last visit. I wasn't sure to give four or five stars because of the shower being old but many rooms seem complete and the owner has such passion for every inch of the place that I went with five.

I don't get how this campground was rated a 4.9 out of 5.0. They call it peaceful pines, there is NO peace. The boat launch is right there. Noisy from sunrise to sunset. If that didn't get to you, there is a major road with a lot of noisy traffic. We watched two sites across the way become vacant the day before we left. Check out 10 sharp, but I never saw anyone come out to the sites to check if it was ready for the next campers. Don't you think it could have been cleaned, maybe raked, something. Now the owners were pleasant, but man you talk about noise, from drilling, sawing, banging. I understand they have to work around the campground, but could the majority of the work wait until mid to late fall? We called before coming to find out if there was a place to take our dog to the water. Was told "Oh yes"! Down by the boat landing, take a right (risk your life with tree limbs). There is NO PLACE to take your dog. No beaches allow dogs. They tend to cater to the seasonal people and their cabins. It's sad that our first time will be our last time.
