Good food, friendly service, reasonable prices. The kids meals were very generous portions.

After skiing at Crystal Mountain, we stopped in. I had the "surf and turf" for my meal,the grilled shrimp was nice and the steak was tender and juicy with the sauce,lots of nice things to look at on the wall only downside was not a big area to wait for a seat and as they were busy, a longer wait time for food. After taking some time off from going to the Timbers, I returned to find the food greatly improved!! I have been back several times and ordered several different items. Yum! Way to turn it around! It is now my favorite place to eat in Cadillac. Try one of their outstanding burgers or perfectly cooked steaks. read more

This place has the best food in Ludington hands down. Fish and chips lightly battered cooked to perfection, excellent burgers and the Brussel sprout appetizer is crisp and tasty. Nice atmosphere and pleasant and helpful staff. read more

Decided to stop here on a family trip up to Mackinac Island. Food was delicious and the portions were very filling. The burgers had so much meat, it was almost too much in our opinion but still tasted great. The bourbon salmon was amazing. We like to try new restaurants, but would eat here again. read more

A great surprise of a place that served "city-quality" food in the middle of almost nowhere! My husband's steak was perfectly done and the pork tenderloin was great. We brought the kids and they were well treated and served quickly (which certainly helped!). The veggies were fresh and steamed perfectly- no mush! I recently had the opportunity of visiting your resturant. I was looking forward to something special. I ordered the liver and onions and it came back scorched. When I told the waitress, she just mad a humph noise and said nothing. Everyone elses meals looked real good, but said they were not like it use to be, change in staffing? My boyfriend and I went for lunch on a Saturday because we were looking to get out of Mt. Pleasant, MI and do something fun for the day and he had a wonderful experience there in the past. The place was incredibly cold and uninviting. A waiter at one point made eye contact with me while I was cuddled up to my boyfriend shivering and proceeded to turn down the temperature in the place. There was a fishing net decoration above the table (which wobbled horribly by the way) that was COVERED in dust and grime. Our waitresses name was Emily; she was incredibly cold and uninviting and at one point slammed my fresh drink down on our table. I could have unhappily dealt with this though assuming that our food was good. I was wrong in hoping it would be though. The asiago cheese bite appetizer was incredibly chewy and the marinara sauce that it was served with was so watered down that it could not be eaten with anything other than a spoon. I thought that maybe the burger that I was served would make up for this though and again I was proven wrong. The bun was burnt and covered in old dried grease flakes, the kind that you scrape out of the hood above your stove when you eventually get around to cleaning it once a year. The burger itself was a crappy frozen patty that you would buy from GFS just to get by when you're broke. The burger was so over-cooked that the actual meat inside the charred remnants of the outer layer was a gray-ish white color. The only food that I was served that did not come into that restaurant frozen was the bacon, which was too salty to even eat. The fries I was served were so freezer burned before their being cooked that they had the consistency of rubber. My boyfriend ordered the beer-battered white fish and received similar taste-less, old, frozen crap. The rice that came with his entree was the kind that comes in pre-packaged cups that you just add water and microwave. This entire experience would not have pissed me off as much as it did if it didn't cost $45!!!! I gave that restaurant an entire shift's worth of wages for crap that I could have made at home in less than half the time it took to get to my table for under $5 if I had just gone to GFS myself. I would have also been able to eat in a clean environment and not had to stand outside in direct sunshine for 15 minutes before I could feel my toes again. I understand that you get what you pay for and that this was a bar but COME ON!!!!! I went into a place that got great reviews, I expect to get a meal that is worth more than $3 a head. I have had better food at 24 hour diners than the crap that I was served here. The only reason that I tipped the waitress was because I knew that her only other table had stiffed her. I will never re-visit this hole and encourage others not to as well. The only reason someone might go here is for their selection of craft beers but trust me, the glasses probably won't be clean. I spent nearly an hour here and only saw the waitress 3 times; once to get our orders, once to bring our appetizer, and once to bring our food. The only reason I was able to get a check was because her only other table went to find her to pay their own bill. The food is crap, the place is disgustingly dirty, the service sucks, and the prices are absolutely ridiculous for the quality of food that they serve. If I'm ever in the area again, I know I'll have a MUCH better experience at the local McDonalds. read more

Had dinner here about 8 times and NEVER had bad service. I try something different every time and all was fantastic. They have the best potato skins I have ever had. Their loaded backed potato is also fantastic. A very nice bar as well. read more

We have ate at the Timbers for many years, although not super often. We have always been happy with the food. I would consider it to be old fashioned, moderately nice restaurant. We went there recently and found that they updated their menu, which was needed and very nice to see. We both ordered one of the new signature pasta dishes. Mine was average, I ate it but wouldn't order it again. My wife's however was delicious and I had a hard time keeping my fork out of it. I'm just glad that she eats less than I do! If you are looking for a decent place to eat, with a solid, classic menu and a fair price, I would recommend giving them a shot! read more

I was in the Cadillac area for a family vacation, first time I've been to the area in about 20 years. I called Timbers up on a Saturday (July 30th) around 5:00 pm. I told them I have a party of 13, and asked if they would be able to accommodate us? They said they could take us at 6:30. I wasn't expecting them to say "yes" on a Saturday, and on such short notice. Everyone in our party arrived at the restaurant by 6:25, they had a table waiting for us and sat us immediately. Our waitress took our orders right away and our entire table had their food within 20 minutes. Everyone in our party commented on how good the food was. I had the fish and chips and it was excellent. Our waitress did a great job as well, she came back to our table every few minutes making sure everyone's drinks were full and made sure we had whatever we needed. I will definitely recommend Timbers to anyone who is in the area, and I will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area as well. read more

have been here a number of times while golfing at mc guires (I know they call it evergreen now). always a good choice. large portions. cod plate was good with a mountain of cole slaw I couldn't even eat because I was full. crab and shrimp dip was excellent. gf had a a pasta/scallop/steak dish that again was huge and very good. never disappointed here. read more

This restaurant used to be a mainstay in the Cadillac area. It had a prime rib the kept you coming back. over the past 3 years we have quit going due the food going down hill, I have seen that some of its ratings had gone up so my wife and I decided to give it another try. This was a HUGE MISTAKE. Our server was friendly and efficient, the only complaint I had was that she did not wait for us to cut our steaks when delivered. The atmosphere was cozy until in a half empty restaurant the hostess decided to sit a table of 8 with 2 young children on top of us they were so close that their server kept sticking her behind in my wife's face as she tried to serve them. This however was not as bad as the food. We ordered the Havarti and dill wedges they were very light on the dill and I have never in my life had a Havarti with so little flavor. The salad would have been good except about a 1/3 of the leaves were wilted. It seemed that they had mixed yesterdays salad in with the fresh. Our steaks came out my rib eye had been ordered Med Rare and was absolutely raw. My wife's prime rib was ordered Medium and came in at Rare. We had to send the steaks back where they were thrown back on the grill (I have a problem with this since you are only given 1 fork and 1 knife so any time they are putting food back on the grill it would have a persons germs on it from there appetizer's and salad course). When the steaks came back they were still not cooked to order, however we tried to eat them and found that they were extremely tough and full of gristle. Needless to say it will be another year of so before I try this restaurant again. read more
