My husband and I went here for our 20th anniversary dinner. We were very surprised!!! The atmosphere is quite and cute lodge style. The menu is very reasonable and lots of choices. My husband had a grilled chicken breast with, avocado, bacon and blue cheese. It was so juicy and not something you would expect from looking at the outside of the restaurant. We stopped here on our way from Sterling Heights to Glenn Arbor last weekend. So cute and such great food! We were starving and ordered the crab dip with pita bread and tortilla chips. To die for!!!! I could have just got that to eat for dinner. My husband ordered the pot roast sandwich. It was huge and he ate every bite it was so delicious. I had the basil swiss chicken breast with a baked potato. Everything was wonderful including the incredibly sweet server who never stopped smiling and did an awesome job, despite the place filling up very quickly after we arrived. Stopped in for lunch on one of the last weekdays in November. They served us beautiful hamburgers grilled to order. Ordered a bowl of cream of mushroom soup which was outstanding. We stopped here for dinner during a ski trip in Cadillac and we thought it was fabulous. The restaurant is cozy and cute on the inside and every single thing we had was excellent. First off our waitress was really nice and helpful which is always a plus. They also had a solid kids menu and our food was delicious. My husband and son had steaks which were cooked perfectly and really tasty. I had the pasta with chicken, shrimp and tomatoes and it was delicious - light and tasty. One of the best meals I've eaten in my entire life! The beer cheese and pretzel sticks are a must have appetizer (I order this everywhere I go and these blew the rest out of the water), and the pasta dishes for entrees are incredible. The Timbers is definitely a restaurant worth stopping at if you near Cadillac. The feel is rustic with plenty of seating. I had the mushroom with pesto pasta, listed as a house specialty. It was very good, with nice homemade pesto, not too seasoned. My husband had a new menu item of a deep fried burrito, and for the fact that it is not a Mexican restaurant, it was really good as well. Best restaurant in Cadillac in a long time. Great "up North" atmosphere. Family owned and good service. Will make you feel at home too. I've had a great steak and burgers there but the fish and chips are my favorite. Real English style. None of that frozen flavorless fish under a glob of batter. Fish was fresh and lots of flavor. They serve local fish. The local tap beer is great too. Finally! I don't need to ride an hour to Traverse to get something other than Bud Light or Sam Adams on tap. While traveling in Michigan I visited Timbers on the 4th of July weekend, which is a very busy time in Northern Michigan. This is certainly an OK place for the price range with good cooking and typical menu choices for a steak and seafood sports bar. For summer dining in Michigan, walleye on the menu is obligatory, and that's what I always order, since it is the very best eating fish I have ever encountered. Timbers offers Canadian wild-caught walleye prepared any way you like it. (Pan fried is best.) They did a very nice job with this dish and the garden salad it came with was also very good. Our server was pleasant, but overwhelmed by the busyness of the holiday weekend. I fault only the management for not arranging for sufficient staffing on a day when they knew they would be busy. This place is worth a stop if you are traveling along M-115. read more

First time here after moving to the area, and I can honestly say I was very unimpressed. I like to think myself as someone that takes what they're given and don't complain very often when it comes to restaurants as I have worked in them. So I came in with a group of 5, we were promptly sat. We had our drink order taken and it took probably 10 minutes for our drinks to come out in a not very busy restaurant. There was one large table and multiple servers, and then a couple smaller tables. No reason for our drinks to be brought out after 10 minutes. When we were ready to order, our server skipped our table and went to the tables that had come in behind us and took their orders first. We had already been waiting for a good 10 minutes before the order was even taken even AFTER our drinks were brought out. Total wait time by now: 20 minutes. When we did order, we ordered the Calamari for an appetizer. It was overcooked and rubbery. 4 of us then ordered the Surf and Turf - 8 oz steak with shrimp. Everyone else had their steaks perfectly done, while my medium-rare came out to be VERY well done. I promptly ordered a new steak after showing them it wasn't what I ordered. It took 10 minutes more for my new steak to come out while I picked at what was on my plate. Out side of the long wait times from the slow service, the rubbery Calamari and the too well done steak, everything else was fine. However, I don't think I will be returning any time soon. read more

We continue to go there as one of our "great eating places in Cadillac, mi". In 3 years, and probably 10 visits a year, we have only had "one" meal" that wasn't up to par. So, I'll excuse that:) The wait staff is so nice, the owners are great and only use top quality beef, sand their Fried Whitefish is the BEST. No polluck here!So much food for your dollar, whether its just a "huge AWESOME burger or a steak/fish/ or primb rib, Some holidays they will "bring in "lamb" Too DIE for! We were sorry to see that "one of the brothers (Justin, I believe is his name?) Anyweay, he is no longer with the restrurant, but "dearly missed", as he is the "personality" of the place. We stopped here on our way back to Ann Arbor from Traverse City and weren't expecting much. But I was very pleasantly surprised! We had the crab and shrimp dip appetizer, which was quite tasty, and then split the buffalo chicken tenders and the Santa Fe burger. Again, both were very good, and the fries were awesome. The Santa Fe was very spicy, with a lot of blackening seasoning, so if that's not your thing, try something else. I would stop here again next time we head that way. read more

We came on a Thursday before July 4 after hiking the whole day in Manistee National Forest. The waitress was very friendly, but she seemed busy so we didn't bother her too much when she forgot the lemons. We ordered three pastas: the Italian baked, the Driftwood, and the Maplewood. We also shared a bowl of chili. The soup came really quickly and my dad said it was one of the best he'd ever had. I'm a huge fan of chili and thought it was delicious too! For some reason however, the Italian baked pasta held us up, as it didn't get served for about 45 minutes to an hour. The waitress was really great and let us know it was taking a while and she apologized for it. When the pastas came, the Italian baked was definitely the best! Good balance of tangy and creamy, plus the portion size was huge. The Maplewood was good too, especially the chicken. We didn't enjoy the driftwood, though. Overall the food was decent, service was on the slow side, but we left satisfied. read more

We were in Cadillac this weekend visiting friends. They took us to The Timbers the first night and we liked it so well we went back again the next. On Saturday night I had one of the specials: garlic salmon. It came with shrimp scampi, and I substituted rice for the pasta. It was delicious. Their beer selections were also good. My husband had the walleye and said it was excellent. On Sunday night we opted for sharing two pizzas among the four of us. The pizzas are very generous, enough that our waitress warned us, "that's a lot of food!" We had tacked on an appetizer as well. I really enjoyed the chicken pesto pizza the prime rib one was also very good. The waitress, Jessie, was outstanding. She was personable and funny, as well as being a good server. We had a. Dry good meal and good service. Made the mistake of ordering onion rings as an appetizer. They were delicious but filled us up to the point that we were unable to finish our entrees. My husband had the Parmesan whitefish and I had walleye. They were both delicious but we were unable to finish them. Undaunted, we took the chocolate cheesecake back to the hotel with us and ate it later ---- much later. If I travel to Cadillac again I will eat there again -- with no appetizers, no matter how good they are. read more
