5 star staff and breakfast- skip the pricey dinner menu as it's more 3 star quality. Lovely, multi level dining room has views from all tables but booths by the glass are best. Great kids menu has lots of choices. Staff are super friendly, helpful and responsive to special requests. Dinner was fine but over priced by about $9 per plate. Breakfast was so much better and such a deal! They also offer carry out pizza. Very handy as we are staying in the lodge so we can walk to it easily. read more

This is soooooo over priced!! We ate dinner here on our first night and it was so expensive! The food was just ok, definitely not worth the prices. The food is good. It is the service that stinks. I was attending a conference at the Salt Fork State Park Lodge last weekend (May2-3, 2026). I was seated at noon and given a menu and then forgotten about. I waited 15 minutes for a waitress to stop by. Therefore, to expedite things, I ordered my drink and meal at the same time. Food was good and didn't take too long. That evening from 5:30 to 5:50 pm, I was among 10 people standing at the hostess sign with no one acknowledging us for 20 minutes. Finally, we were told they would not seat anyone until 6:00 p.m. They appeared short-handed, but should have acknowledged us much earlier. There should have been a manager to handle this issue. And you would think when hosting a conference of hundreds of folks, they would be prepared to handle the crowd. And the bar was no better. And even if they were understaffed, at least let us know and don't let us just stand there. Come on, Salt Fork, get your act together. BYW, I ended up eating a snack in my car in the parking lot for dinner. read more

Stopped in for breakfast this morning with my wife as we're staying at the lodge. Although the interior is somewhat dated it adds to the overall ambience. That said, there are definitely some areas that need TLC. Jordan was our server and did a fine job! Thank you Jordan! I decided in the custom omelet while my wife there one pancake / one meat breakfasts. Our breakfast came out fairly quickly, well presented, and tasty. Our coffee was good as well. read more

Convenience makes Timbers your go to when staying at Salt Fork. Just don't stray from what would be expected on a bar food menu. Pizza, chicken tenders, or fries are fine but if you try to get something crazy like soup you're really putting your life and tastebuds in someone else's hands. Service is great! read more

We ate here while staying at the lodge. The service was ok, it wasn't busy at all and they had 3 servers. The food was decent. My son's burger was overcooked, and they were gonna refire, but they said it would be 20 min or so, so he just ate it. My wife and other son had the fish and chips, which were large and well seasoned. My pork belly was ok. It was really tough and very chewy. The dining room was fine. Hopefully, they will work it while construction is going on. The menu was also very small which I understand with the lack of customers because of construction. read more

I almost didn't give this a fourth star. It's a "just barely," largely having to do with food quality of the breakfast, which is the only meal we ate here based on previous yelpers' reviews.The wife and I had omelette , which were excellent, and the hash browns were on point, but toast was extra(?). The coffee was delicious and the service was attentive, and while the restaurant is what you'd expect of a state park lodge, it's in desperate need of updating. I imagine the view in the fall is even more stunning than the star winter landscape we saw, but still beautiful. I actually think the booths on the upper level provides a better view of the lake and countryside. $30 for breakfast (tip extra) was about right. Bonus points to our server for giving us hot drinks to go on a single digit temperature day! read more

Was so disappointed in our one visit to Timber's while staying at Salt Fork Lodge. We had a supreme pizza and Thai chicken wings. Both were terrible. The pizza tasted like a frozen pizza. The wings were breaded and over sauced. Other dishes might be better but don't get those items. read more

Met my parents here for a weekend afternoon as it was near the midpoint for each of us, about 2 hours away for both. After spending the day hiking, we went to The Timbers restaurant in the lodge. We got what passed for a lake view table - you could see a sliver of the lake from our table. Service was very good, with a friendly and attentive waiter. The food was OK, not great but definitely good enough we finished our meals. The food was a bit on the pricey side but we expected this given it being a lodge. If you're in the area and don't want to head into Cambridge, the restaurant is an OK stop. There are some better options if you're willing to make the drive into town, though. read more

I love salt fork state park, it's so beautiful here! We come here every year as a family getaway. We stay in the lodge connected to the restaurant. There is not really anything around here to eat at unless you feel like driving for awhile. The restaurant is open for lunch, dinner, and breakfast. They do a lot of Togo pizza orders for people in the hotel. I haven't had their pizza yet, but people say it's really good. Since we ate at this restaurant three times I can comment about my plates. The first night I ordered the Greek veggie burger with a side of fruit. I thought that they burger was really good but the olives in the side cup confused me. They were super salty and kinda too much to use on the burger. I would get it again but ask for something else over the olives. The second night I got the roasted half chicken. It came with a ceaser salad and mushroom risotto. This meal is the chicken winner. The morning I ordered the Appalachian trail skillet...let me just say I did not realize I ordered the hugest breakfast in my life before. The thing was loaded with hash browns, scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, gravy, cheese, biscuits, bacon, ham, and to be honest I cant remember what else because the pile was massive. It was good but I could not finish the whole thing. I really like this little restaurant and the staff is always so nice and quick to make any errors wrong. Can't wait to go back. read more

We recently stayed at Salt Fork Lodge for the weekend. We ate at the restaurant once for dinner, and twice for breakfast. Overall, the food was overpriced and mediocre. Dinner service was good. At the breakfast buffet the service was terrible. Couldn't get silverware, had to ask multiple times for items needed and they acted like we were being ridiculous when we asked if it was possible for some other family members who arrived after us could sit at the (empty) table beside us when they arrived. Seriously some of the worst service I've ever experienced. The only reason we kept going back was it was our only choice. read more
