I ventured into Time 2 Fix because the leather band on a watch I got from my grandfather was inevitably going to split. Considering the fact that the watch is from 1941, I was adamant about getting as close to factory band as possible since those are long gone. Mike (the owner), who is a pleasure to communicate with, told me I had two options; 1) buy a cheap band from China that would last 2 years tops, or 2) he could get the same quality leather and match the original band. Although significantly more expensive, I chose number 2 since the watch is incredibly sentimental for me. Two weeks later I got the band back and although it wasn't identical, it's superior quality was definitely worth the money and did induce a smile on my face.. These people are amazing in every way, and truly make the impossible possible. One of my most priced possessions is my grandmother's golden locket which was passed down to me. As you'd expect, time really did a number on it and everywhere else I'd try to go to told me there was no use in fixing it. When I came to Time 2 Fix, half of me was expecting to hear the same thing, but I was pleasantly surprised and comforted when they told me not to worry and that they would do everything they could to make sure it was in top condition. MIke, the owner of Time 2 Fix, is FRADULENT! I agree with Connie F.'s review. On the phone he agreed to size my ring for a specified price (gave him the exact specific details of the repair). But when we got to his shop, he more than doubled the price. Although he greatly increased the price of the repair, we gave him the benefit of the doubt. We thought, maybe sizing the ring a half size down involved more work than expected. Granted, it's a simple mens' white gold wedding band, no stone, no design, no engraving. A simple and plain white gold band. We told him that the price of the repair was almost 50% of the price of the band. He was very hesitant to explain the process and grew angry when we asked questions. Because we got a really deal on the wedding band, we joked that repairing it cost us more. Then we grabbed the ring and said that he would buy it. Why would we sell him our wedding band! We told him "no" and he grew even angrier. Basically, this man is a shark preying on people who don't know the value of their jewelry. He's looking to make a quick buck and take advantage of people. We've always had a good experience with Yelp, but this guy is a bad find. Do not trust him. read more

DO NOT GO THERE "I work with stars!!".... just never trust a guy trying to get your trust like that... I usually like yelp because it's good to know who you can trust or not, and reviews are one of the best way to know that those days, sadly for my wedding ring, "time 2 fix" was a bad find. so I need to rebalance this place rating... I came in with my wedding ring to make it one size bigger, to let you know, it was a big deal to me as my first wedding ring had been completely crushed and looks now like crap by an other jeweler in downtown. so this one was the one to treasure. mike told us it would take 15 mn and would looks perfect, it was an easy job, I told him about my bad experience and the fact that I needed him to be sure it was something he could do, he assured me again that I would be pleased. so first, we did wait 50 mn, not 15... then, you could easily see where the ring had been adjusted, 2 fine lines would separate the original ring from the added piece, "It goes well with the design" he said!! how funny... anyway, we had a tired baby with us, we decided that it would be good enough, we could come back to hide the lines if I changed my mind, he strangely said a thousand time in front of the incoming costumer "lifetime warranty" (self-advertising I guess), we left. 30mn later, looking at my ring trying to forget about the lines I noticed that the repair was starting to become blackened, this time I was pissed, first the wait, then the lines, the bad excuse for it and now oxidation?! on white gold?!!! so my husband came back to see him, he received the: "I had no time" / "I have to feed my family" / "god will remember that" complains!!! god will remember that?!!! what? that he did an awful job and is trying to plea for money to feed his family?!!! hmmm, I thought the guy was working with stars!!!... well, sure, seeing this crapy place, how could he?.... he finally accepted to partially refund my husband after my husband mentioned internet reviews being wrong... here you go.... UPDATE I sent back the ring to the original jeweler for him to fix the mess, and yes, as I could guess from the "white gold" getting blackened and giving me allergies, my jeweler confirm that the added piece wasn't gold at all, he also told me that the 14k stamp should never have been removed by this guy, it is illegal to do so (as it is illegal to sell gold if it's not gold) if you're carefully reading reviews, you'll end up seeing that the only good thing you can get from there is a battery change for your watch... but really, even that, seeing how dishonest is the guy, I wouldn't be sure on how long will the battery last... read more

Was recently turned away from 14K in BH to repair a ring that had been made for me BY THEM 4 years ago...a treasured gift. They said it was too fragile to work on and even when I suggested I would replace the stone if it became damaged by them in the process...they said NO. Sadly, it sat it my jewelry box and I missed wearing it every day. I ran across Time 2 Fix on yelp when I was searching for watch repairs in the area. Even though Mike had only one review...it was a great one and so I went with some watches that needed batteries and my treasured ring. Mike looked at the ring and said "why did they tell you this could not be fixed? EVERYTHING is fixable." OMG - I fell in love with this man instantly. His honesty, professionalism and concern for me was astonishing. Better yet, he fixed my ring in 2 days and charged me less than $50. I was ecstatic! He carefully examined some of my older pieces (Dad & Grandma's gold watches) and they are now under his care and capable hands as well! I needed to get a ring resized and stopped off to see what they could do. My ring is fully engraved around the outside and unfortunately it wasn't easy to make smaller. Gary suggested a ring guard which be installed and polish to make fit perfectly. He charge me $6! Wow $6. Fast friendly easy and a bargain. read more

I brought in 2 rings to be sized and a large black pearl to be made into a pendant. I also wanted estimates on the prices of repairing 2 watches. Mike said he'd call me in a few days when he finished the work and would keep the watches to determine the estimates. Several days later he called to say that the jewelry was ready, and he had repaired 1 of the watches for $50. I reminded him that i had requested only an estimate on the watches. He told me that I had not told him that, but since the watches were not worth much, he would be willing to buy them from me for $50 each if I didn't want to pay for the repair. I'm from the midwest and tend to be trusting, and i'm a blonde, but in the end, I'm not an idiot, so i decided i'd better rush to his store to retrieve my jewelry. The watch that he said he had repaired was a LASALLE worth approximately $850. The other exquisite 1920's art deco watch, inherited from my grandmother, was appraised at $1,500. So I decided not to sell the pair of them for $100. I decided I would pay him the extra $50 for the repaired watch, just to get out of there (unfortunately it appears he only replaced the battery because it's still not working). The rings were fine, the black pearl less so. I gathered my jewelry and went home. When I got home the black pearl was nowhere to be found. Its little plastic bag was still in the case, but the black pearl was not in it. I called Mike to let him know it was missing and to please look for it. Perhaps he was expecting my call because without a second's delay he said "I saw you put it in your bag". I leave you to draw your own conclusions. I filed a police report, with the full knowledge that nothing could be proven, but I wanted to be sure that there was an official record of my experience. This was my 1st experience with YELP. I learned that there's no way of knowing whether these glowing testimonials have been written by family members. read more

My watch battery died so I consulted Yelp to find a local repair shop. Once I read the reviews for this place, I gathered up a few more items I had lying around, uncertain if they would be able to repair them. I have an amazing cuff bracelet that was far too large for me. It wasn't cheap (for me, at least), but nevertheless it would be considered "costume" jewelry - I had no idea what kind of metal it was - and I didn't know if a jeweler would even touch it. Finally, I have a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses that were too wide for my face. To my delight, he was able to fix all three items for under $30, and offered same day service to boot. I needed some watch links removed and my wedding ring resized/polished. Gary was great. First of all, they were open on a Monday - many jewelry repair places are closed Mondays. Secondly, they were nice over the phone. Not all stores are like that. Thirdly, I was sure I had to leave the ring there, but they resized and polished it in like 10 minutes.
