I've never been so disappointed as I was today. Typically the food and drinks are consistently good, so my husband and I thought it would be a nice place to stop after a funeral. It's 3:45 pm and it's packed. There was a table leaving so we sat there and the waitress said she would be by to clear the table. An older lady came by and very rudely told us we were going to have to get up and go to the table by the restrooms. She said they were moving the table after she saw our confusion. We decide to walk to the table by the restroom and there are already people there. We decided to leave and probably never return after the way we were spoken to. I truly hope that it wasn't because of race that we were treated this way. The lady didn't speak to some other customers the way she addressed us. I'm so disappointed and will not go back and make sure coworkers, family and friends know how we were treated. There is a way to handle people and this was not it. read more

We were in town and decided to go for a drink. It was a Sunday evening. Walked in and everyone was laughing and smiling. They had a DJ playing a movie trivia of Bingo. Winner gets a free drink. With the downfall of Norton's those in the Humble/Atascasita area will be pleased to know there is a replacement. Lots of HD TV's playing every game you can imagine. Friendly & quick service , cheap beer, decent bar food, darts, shuffleboard, golden tee... just about everything you're looking for in a sports bar. Beers are $1.50 drafts and $2 domestic bottles. It's a very clean establishment and they are in the process of building an outdoor deck which will be great because the reason it gets three stars instead of four is that it is way too smoky in there. I went here last night with a friend and had a really good time. It's casual but I dare say upbeat due to all the lights and glowing things, for lack of a better word haha. I went twice in January. There was a young waitress who gave a glass of water to my boyfriend and when he gave it to me she told him she had brought it for him (with an ice cold voice) and she repeated it at least three or four times. Sad that they allow people to 'save tables' for others while letting paying customers walk out the door. I got there an hour before world series and stood while having a beer hoping to grab a table. At least 2 tables were being 'saved' all the way through first inning. Discussed this twice with waitress and she even told me they don't allow it but would do nothing about it so we left and will not return again. There is no smoking inside this bar so that is a plus in my book. The food is inexpensive, and it's probably frozen, but it was still tasty. The waitress was helpful, friendly and informative about the types of beers they had. My husband and I have supported Time out Tavern for the last six years as our favorite local hang out. I have always loved the staff and the food and our friends. However I have always noticed that Colleen, the owner of the bar, seems to be rude at times, if it is unintentional or not I do not know. This last week she was specifically rude to my husband and it was uncalled for. We have supported them through these tough times during Covid. We order food for delivery and pick up even buying alcohol which we normally would not do because the price is much higher. I think she needs to stop and take note of the familiar faces and not play favorites it would be in her best interest. I don't believe we will ever go back and that is unfortunate because we love her staff. read more

We flew to Texas for a wedding and stopped here before we checked in to our house for the weekend. The waitress was awesome and very knowledgeable of the prices and beers. I liked her honesty of the food and we thought everything we got was pretty good. We flew in on a Wednesday so we made it in time for the lunch special - Chicken Fried Steak...and it was pretty darn good, for bar food. I guess I hadn't experienced good, genuine hospitality here in CA for a while so it was nice to actually be treated well for once. Wanted to go out and watch the NCAA championship. We chose this place based on stars. How it's rated 4 stars is beyond me. My husband ordered boneless wings which were probably frozen. There was so much over fried batter on the outside, almost more batter than "chicken". My single burger was definitely frozen. Came out like a hockey puck. Fries were hot. It was Friday night, a little before 8:30pm and the bar was relatively busy but not slammed. When we sat down we saw 3 servers eating salad. There were 2 bartenders and a bar back and someone who looked like the bar manager. We had just sat down at the bar and they passed us again and again and again... Not once establishing eye contact. During this time, we did not see the bartenders make any drinks. After 5 minutes, which should be long enough for a "hello my name is X, can I get a drink for you", we left and won't be coming here ever again. read more

I went on a Tuesday from about 5-7:30. Our waitress was really sweet, and the service was great. The whole place was very clean and the prices where good. They have a full service kitchen which is awesome, but I only had an appetizer (which I enjoyed). Overall the atmosphere was very welcoming. We did end up leaving a little earlier then we anticipated because it was getting very loud & crowded for a Tuesday (but that may have been because it was Fat Tuesday so they had alot of specials). I have only visited this bar once, but it was a very pleasant experience. We had an after party there, which followed another event we went to. The outdoor patio was built and in place, and it was a nice evening out. I did not order food, although a couple of people at our table did. So can't speak for the food. The drinks are reasonably priced and as Chris noted in the his first review for this establishment, there are lots of recreational things to do on the inside, plus good music! I am not a smoker, so this is probably not somewhere I would go often. I do know they have a very loyal "neighborhood" following, and that's the kind of place it is, and what I think they want their place to be. If you are a smoker, like pool, darts and that type of thing, I think you'd LOVE this place!!! I would normally give this a 3 star, but they are having a community benefit event for a friend of ours this Saturday, who was a frequent patron there. And because I truly do believe this is the kind of community loyalty that Time Out Tavern is about, I am giving them 4 stars for their generosity! read more
