I've gone to Sharky's a few times over the 12 years I've lived in the area. Each time, the experience gets better and better. On my last visit, I explained I had a gluten allergy. The waitress (whose name has left me) was extremely accommodating. I ordered the redfish and subbed the rice (which has gluten) for mashed potatoes. It was divine, and I'm ready for our next visit. My family and I went for Memorial Day and sat on the patio! The weather was great and they had a special, $14 Margarita Flight! Great price and very good, especially with the hot weather. I ended up ordering the Hook, Line and Sinker Platter. It came with 1 catfish, shrimp, fries, coleslaw, and oysters. I think I'd avoid Sharky's in the future based on the experience we had recently inviting outoftown guests for dinner. We all had gumbos, and two of them were chicken-sausage gumbo, while one of them was a seafood gumbo. Guests were pleased with the chicken-sausage but the seafood gumbo was 4 notches above that in terms of chili-spiciness. The seafood gumbo was so hot I couldn't tell that there was seafood in it. The lumps could have been anything. I don't understand why chefs feel it is acceptable to use so much pepper and chilis. One can always add more at the table, but it's impossible to remove hotness. We ordered two catfish dinners, neither guest had much positive to say about them, but one of them was supposed to be blackened and both arrived broiled. The third order was mahi-mahi tacos. There again one could order blackened or broiled, and broiled was the choice. The mahi-mahi was dry and tasteless, the corn tortillas surrounding the fish were soft, wet, and fell apart. 08/23/2026 We showed up at 7:30 and opened the door and it changed to 7:31pm and the girl cleaning the fish tank said they weren't seating anymore. The sign does say after 7:30 they don't seat on Sunday to be fair to the establishment, but come on, we were literally right on time if going by the sign. We live close and regular the places along the lake here, but I don't know if we will visit this place again with how rude they were this time. read more

Another review where I find myself outside of my usual areas for food. I was with family this Labor Day and was looking for a restaurant after our visit to Angel Lagoon. From our search, we decided to visit Sharky's Waterfront Grill. This was about a 30 min drive. From the initial visit, I was definitely surprised of the location of the restaurant. It is overlooking Lake Houston and also in a nice shopping center. We were a big party and couldn't pass up on the view outside. The staff are nice and attentive. We started off with the fried okra and calamari. They were nicely fried and light and the sauces were great compliments to add that nice flavor touch. I did something counterintuitive and seeing a majority is seafood on the menu, I went with The Great White Shark burger. What drew me was the name but also the little excerpt that read "not for wimps" I definitely was up for the challenge and my parents did not raise a wimp. That Great White Shark burger is huge with the works plus bacon and cheese. You definitely would need to be like a Great White Shark and devour it like Jaws haha. In short, I enjoyed it. Overall I enjoyed the visit to Sharky's Waterfront Grill. Nice area, nice view, and definitely worth breaking the seafood restaurant rule to pick the burger. No concerning remarks but I would like to see how they are on a typical day where the area is much busier since we visited on a holiday. If you are in the Kingwood area, it's a good visit. You do not need to bring your harpoon for any sharks in the water, just your appetite. read more

Nice ambiance and scenery if you sit outside. If you walk outside you might even spot some turtles. It was busy when we arrived but the wait time wasn't long. There's also a parking garage if you can't find street parking. As an appetizer we tried the tostada ceviche. It has jalapeños so it was a like spicy. They're not heavy as an appetizer which is good. The fish was a bit salty though. I got the macadamia crusted mahi-mahi which was very good and it was a good sized piece. I also got to try the salmon, which I thought was good but the person that ate it right it was a little over done. It's a great place with a good sized bar with tvs to watch sports. The drinks sounded good but I didn't get to try them but I'll be back to check them out. Everyone that works there was nice and attentive. read more

Yesterday was our first time visiting Sharky's and we had a good experience. The place is a cute restaurant by the water. I would say, it is like a mixture of restaurant and sports bar in the sense that they have TVs with sports on the bar area, but nothing overwhelming. Our service was good, to the point, and very pleasant. The food was well prepared and tasted really good. The prices are reasonable too. Came here for lunch. The weather was nice so we ate out on the patio. They had fans to provide a nice breeze. There is a beautiful view of the lake. There was a lunch special and a happy hour menu. This is the perfect spot if you want some fun drinks on a patio! They have a great view of the water, too. Happy hour goes until 6, deals on drinks and apps! I ordered the fried pickles which normally come with ranch. I asked for an extra side of the chipotle sauce and I'm so glad I did!! That dipping sauce is sooooo good!! I'm really disappointed with our experience at Sharky's Waterfront. We waited almost an hour just to be seated. Once we finally sat down, we waited another 20 minutes with zero acknowledgment from any server. We had to flag down a passing waitress just to ask for help, and even she said she didn't know who was supposed to be taking care of our table -- but said she would at least take drink orders. Another 20 minutes passed before anyone returned, and when they did, it was just waters, one drink for my friend, and the wrong beer for me. When I tried to return it to a different waiter, he didn't even reach to grab it -- I literally had to hand it to him myself. Then we waited another 15-20 minutes... still no correct drink. At that point, I went to ask for the manager. When she came over, I explained everything, and she didn't even apologize. I told her we didn't want to wait anymore and we would be leaving for another restaurant. She only said the food was "almost ready" if we wanted it to go, which we declined. Then she charged us for one beer anyway. Overall, the experience was terrible -- and what makes it worse is this is the second week in a row we've had awful service here. We've always liked Sharky's Waterfront, so I told the manager I was hoping they would correct whatever is going on, because they can definitely do better. But after this, I'm not sure we'll be coming back. read more

Decided to try something new and ordered the white shark broiled platter and it was a 10/10, so flavorful and their rice is amazing as well. Service can be just a tad slower at times but the food makes up for it. Very chill ambience and great place for a casual get together or a family meal. Right on the water with an amazing view of lake Houston, you can sit inside or they have patio seating. A nice family restaurant right on Lake Houston, Sharky's in one of many restaurants in this plaza that offers lake side dining. This is a theme restaurant, with the theme being sharks. From the decor to the food names, sharks make their presence here. Being on the lake, one can request lake side outdoor seating on a good weather day. Unfortunately there are no heat lamps by the lake side tables. The menu consists of a lot of fried options and grilled options. I shared a the Shark Bites appetizer and ordered the Surfside combo for my main. I was allowed to swap out the rice for a Caesar salad, which I appreciated. The shark bites were tasty enough. I requested my catfish blackened, and it came out beautifully seasoned and cooked. I really enjoyed the green beans and carrots mixed vegetables that accompanied the fish. The interior possesses a bar area, perfect for catching the latest sports game. Overall a nice casual place to catch a meal. read more

Service here is hit or miss miss miss... Recent visit were told by Natalie the host it was a five minute wait, but the restaurant wasn't busy. It was 20% full lots of available seats and employees standing around. Indoor and some outdoor seating is available. Food is mediocre, but the outside seating view is nice when the weather permits. Terrible service! Nothing we ordered was correct when the food came out. There were very few people at the time and it still took the wrong order forever to come out. I walked inside to inquire and saw our food sitting at the end of the bar getting cold and exposed to flies. We were there around 8pm and everyone was focused on leaving. Had to ask them to remove from ticket what didn't come out with order....and they offered me a dessert to compensate. No thank you! The girls working would rather play around with each other than stay on top of their duties. I can imagine that this behavior transfers to the kitchen. Sharky's is a solid choice in King's Harbor! It's right near the water, with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's especially enjoyable to go when it's a beautiful day because you can walk around King's Harbor and the pier before or after your meal.
