We were extending a bookcase and needed a remnant to try and match the countertop. We didn't need an exact match but something close enough. We stopped in and were able to check some of the remnants they had outside and as luck would have it, we found a piece almost identical to our original countertop. I contacted the business and James came out and we discussed the project. Later, he came out to see the project and another person came out to take the measurements. Throughout the entire process they were very easy to work with. EGW was very quick to have the pieces ready and were very accommodating waiting on the cabinet makers to finish their part of the job. Once the lower parts of the cabinets were installed, the people from EGW were at my house within a day or two to install. The installation was quick. The people who do the installation are very professional and clean. The bookshelves after the countertops and unless you look very closely, you cannot tell the difference from the remnant pieces and the original countertop. The are efficient, professional and reasonably priced. The other company I used was good but the people at Emerald Granite Works seem to care more about their work than the other business I used. I started off contacting multiple people, they gave me their pricing from 400-700 to be able to quickly finish within the asking time frame. I decided to go with Serene Solution because she brought up connections that I called and they verified what she does. Start to finish, she didn't show up on the time that she provides. She was late on the first day to check the corner, didn't even show up on the first day that she had on the estimate, constantly late every time she showed up. I asked and she confirmed that she can finish the task before the end of July, eta 7/20 - 7/23(7/24), but it drags out from her personal life, finally being completed August 12th What frustrated me the most was she went to a convention July 28-31 before finishing the final few steps. She compares her business to professional companies for her prices but nothing about this interaction was professional. She is late, unresponsive quite often, lied to me about a discount that she never mentioned (The discount was supposedly initially added for her personal issues, but she never said anything about that at all. If I knew she had personal issues I would not have hired her at all), attempted to make me pay extra for the delay. Highly recommend going with other services for speed and pricing.

They were very pretty, but over time, they quickly proved to be a poor, poor choice for a high-traffic, high-usage area. The counters were easily stained and scratched. I was always afraid of spilling liquids onto the counter, so I was constantly wiping and cleaning them. I detested our kitchen counters. And our master bathroom was in even worse shape than our kitchen. So, after much discussion and a little research, the guy and I decided to replace the counters with quartz. Making the decision was the easy part. Finding someone to handle the project, from start to finish, was another. We went to the typical big box stores, Home Depot and Lowe's, but weren't sold on their services. We went to UB Kitchens, but had a perplexing experience there. Then after a bit of research, I found Austin Custom Tops on Yelp. I called Shaun, who was extremely responsive and professional. He came out within a few days of my call to show us samples, measure our kitchen, and give us a quote. I have a hard time trusting contractors. We've had some mediocre and shoddy work done over the years. However, after meeting Shaun, I could tell that he was someone who really cares about his business and the quality of work that his company delivers. In the end, we decided to go with Silestone counters and have Shaun's team install them. His quote was actually a few hundred dollars less than the other quotes we received, and he'd handle the entire project for us (i.e., order the materials, cut/install, disconnect/reconnect appliances, etc). His team was professional and friendly, and they did a really great job installing our counters and backsplash. The turnaround on the project was ridiculous: they had our counters and backsplash installed within 2 weeks of placing our order.
