I began coming here six years ago due to chronic nerve pain in my lower extremities, which is very difficult to treat. My doctor, Dr. Kokayeff, was absolutely amazing. In my opinion, the most important thing is to feel as though you've been heard during any interaction with a physician. Each and every time I walked away knowing she listened to o what I had to say and worked with me to ensure the chosen therapies were the best for me. Then, almost two years ago, something happened I wasn't even prepared for. Dr. Kokayeff and I had been working together for five years when she told me I would be a good candidate for a pain pump. I had never heard of one so she gave me a lot of information to look at. After reading through everything, I knew that this would further improve my life. I went through the process of getting approved for it and began taking the necessary steps to have it put in. In truth, the first few months were hard. The amount of pain I experienced increased because they have to start off at a low dose and work their way up. However, once that dose is reached it is nothing short of life changing. Imagine never having to think about meditations again. Imagine being able to travel and live your life on your terms without worry of refill dates and appointments. Imagine only having to go to the clinic four times a year. This is my new reality. If not for Dr. Kokayeff and Dr. Will, I don't know where I'd be. In addition to the above, I have better pain management because of the pump too. I am now working with Britta Carlson, who I believe is a PA. She is equally thoughtful and caring regarding my care and takes the time to ensure everything is going well with me. Equally as important is the staff at the Woodbury location is phenomenal. From the moment I walk into the clinic I am greeted by name. Even medical staff I don't work with are kind and considerate of how you are doing. I cannot stress enough how finding the right place is a case of life and death when it comes to pain management. For those who suffer from chronic pain, you know the toll it takes on you both mentally and physically. You are not alone. Twin Cities Pain Clinic has the staff and the knowledge to help give you a piece of your life back. I urge you to consider them if you suffer from pain as I do.

Each process with this TCPC location is extremely complex for no reason. The communication from…read morefront desk to provider, as well as, from provider to insurance and clients is subpar at best. The front desk personnel, Sylvia, gives off a passive-aggressive, patronizing attitude while dealing with clients, even new ones like those who were treated rudely by her while she was on the phone and for 8 min and made sure you knew you weren't to interfere. I made a call beforehand, stating I would be running behind and the person on the phone said, "head in," even after I told her my ETA. She said she would speak to my provider. Upon arriving, I was met with Sylvia's "pleasant" attitude, and accidentally responded when she said, "Hi." Little did I know, she had just ended one call and began another. The 8-9 min spent on the phone without letting my provider know I had arrived, is most likely the reason she said that she wouldn't meet with me. I had explained the previous conversation on the phone and I believe she thought I was trying to undermine her, when in reality, I just wanted to explain why I traveled 20+ min and arrived late with assurance of seeing the provider. It's sad that in 2026, when a Muslim woman is by herself, certain people feel the need to assert dominance when nobody else is around. Then, when the other "new" clients came in behind me, the way she treated them was rude as well, as if she didn't feel either one of us fit in to be there.

I went from not being able to go shopping or walking any more than three minutes at a time to strength training, walking everywhere that I want to go and shopping till I drop. Because of thei change in my mobility, I've lost 80 pounds. And I am able to enjoy my life again. Dr. Hansen was very patient and kind and everybody at Summit orthopedics has been so nice and so helpful.. I owe them so much changing my life with my knee replacements. I had no issues before during or after both knee replacements. I recommend summit orthopedics to anyone that asks. I feel like I'm a great self advocate for my health and care and they listen.. Dr. Hanson is the best! Every time I see him I always tell him thank you for changing my life.

A few days earlier I was stepping up onto a curb and heard a pop in the back of my knee. I was able to walk to where I was going, however after that, it was very painful. After 3 days of icing and tylenol, it wasn't getting much better. Time to have a professional take a look. I considered Urgent Care. Looking around at the different locations, some had x-ray and MRI and some did not. Then I thought about making an appointment with an orthopedist. It was then that I noticed that there was an orthopedic urgent care. I elected to visit the Summit Orthopedics in Woodbury. We arrived when they opened and registered. We were seen within 10 minutes. After taking some pictures of my knee, I met with a gentleman named Larry who examined my knee. He explained and showed us while there is no damage, there is arthritis. I was able to get an injection into my knee which wasn't as bad as I expected. This helped a lot with the pain. He then advised lots of ice and time. Really appreciate the information and care I received at Summit Orthopedics in Woodbury.
