I met…read morehim when i came to a walk-in clinic in 1999 across from ( not adjacent ) to McDonalds on Main ave. The clinic adjacent to MacDonalds is a whole new ballgame, not the same care i got from Dr. Dave Parnas. Waiting for him i overheard his conversation with patients, and how nice he was to them, i figured him for a loser, ( young and cynical i was ). I got my turn,and showed him my scabby knee i got on a vacation trip, which was healing poorly. He gave me an antibiotic from his samples and as he was finishing up writing the script for my antibiotic, i let on that i had also engaged in unprotected sex while on vacation. Dr. Dave does an about face, and says, i wish you would have told me earlier and proceeds to tell me about the risks i had taken, not in a "holier than thou way" but in an informative manner with practical implications, writes a script for a different antibiotic which will be effective in fighting clymidia. I left the clinic with a whole new respect for him, and a lesson in kindness. i made him my PCP. He got me on vitamins, blood pressure meds, and Lipitor, in a wholly practical way that it wouldn't hurt my pocket. From personal experience he told me to go to Costco, where i would get 5 times as many as the same antihistamines that walmart was selling for about the same price or less. He gave me samples of very expensive meds to save me money. He has a sliding scale based on no-insurance, and ability to pay. Dr. Dave is an Army doctor and a Gulf War vet. He served his country in the first gulf war, and even though he has a walking problem due to his service, The military put all the pressure they could to go to Iraq chapter 2. ( Thanks US Military) He was working in the walk-in clinic to rebuild his practice which was lost when he went to the gulf war. The only problem we found was that he gives too much of his time per client, going over medical history in minute detail. This extended wait times past the 1 hour mark and lost him some patients, but he's a rugged individual, humanitarian, and a good guy. He's made house calls,and was named top doc in ct. Even though he seems like a walking anachronism, he has a working relationship with Dr. Claudia Gruss, who was profiled on a Sunday news and information program to be among the first in using electronic health records. I asked for her when he was hospitalized this year, and thankfully someone told me she was now in private practice. She has been a godsend. She is helping my dad have a peaceful death, and teaching us how to accept it and help him transition. She prescribed medication that eased his suffering, and coordinated his hospice team. One of the most thoughtful and compassionate doctors I have ever met, and I am thankful we have her to help us through this period.

Michael was extremely busy but still saw me at very short notice when I told him of my situation. He explained the micro suction procedure to me, it took a matter of minutes and didn't hurt at all. I can't recommend Michael enough, he's brilliant, I will now enjoy my weekend now :)

A week ago I was there with the starting of an allergy, which turned out to be driven by my blood pressure medication. However, the PA that I consulted with NEVER asked what medications I was on and told me to take Benadryl. Hours later I was at the hospital ER, where they quickly realized it was my medication causing it. There was a fear I was going to need to be intubated and after medications and plasma transfusion my condition was brought under control. Had the PA asked me the most basic question ..."what medications was I on?" a much simpler solution could have been found. The PA realized her mistake after I left the office and left me a voicemail asking if I was still on a specific medication but did not say anything about it being the cause or telling me to rush to the ER. She left a voice mail to call her back just 5 min before the clinic was closing. So when I contacted her the clinic was already closed. I have tried to resolved this directly with the Medical Director Dr. Koslow but he has decided never to contact me back and now I will have to file a civil case. Make sure if you visit them it is an actual dr who sees you.

Takes for some people to be in someone else's position for them to understand the magnitude of a situation. We wouldn't have wasted time coming here if you guys don't want to work!! The only thing the girl at the front desk had to say was, "sorry". She couldn't care less, seemed like she was ready to go home. I am completely shocked and disappointed with their unprofessionalism. I have had strong symptoms…read moreof COVID-19 and right now I'm on day 7 of shown symptoms. When it started I had extreme fatigue, which led to heavy post-nasal drip down the throat, no runny nose, no sneezing, just thick postnasal that would make me cough a bit. On day 2 I felt a fullness in neck and throat which evolved into a full and forceful dry cough along with a fever which I took ibuprofen for. Day 3 the cough just worsened and I started to feel shortness of breath, chest tightness, and pain and getting winded going up and downstairs. Day 4 I went to Soundview. I was wheezing, short of breath, coughing, and unable to take a deep breath. Dr diagnosed me as URI even though I had symptoms of lower respiratory difficulties. Dr told me because I didn't have a fever I would not get a test for COVID-19. And told me if I didn't directly contact someone who traveled recently I likely would not have the virus. Meanwhile, the news has reported "community spread" in our area. Yes, I suppose there are limited tests but the Dr was not honest about that fact and simply told me to take cough med, pain med, and inhaler and sent me on my way. No recommendation to avoid social gatherings etc. I did so anyway, I canceled all plans and tried to keep a distance from other parents at school drop-offs and pick-ups throughout the week. I have had other concerns about this practice before this, but this clearly has me looking for a completely different practice. I'm giving two stars because the Dr was very nice and personable. The night after the appointment was the worst night of all. I was sitting on the couch, coughing fit, after coughing fit, and just had the feeling like I could not get any air. That my windpipes in my lungs were completely constricted and not opening, I was seriously needing air. I had taken inhaler but yet was at this level of breathing trouble only a couple of hours later. I went up to the shower and turned on the steam with the hope of it relieving the issue and opening up the airways, which it did for a bit. When I was ready to go to sleep laying down in the bed I still was struggling for air. Any position made me cough like crazy. Any relief I got was sitting up and leaning forward or completely standing up straight. this is no way to fall asleep. I wrestled with the symptoms for a good TWO HOURS until finally, things subsided enough to drift off. But I was woken up many times overnight with the breathing struggle. I have had bronchitis before and this seemed to be on another level. The next day, more coughing fits and a nap interrupted with them yet again. Coughing fits caused intense headaches over the day. I went to sleep day 5 with the same symptoms. Day 6 coughing fits over and over, the same breathing issues. Day 7, symptoms are easing just a little bit but I'm still experiencing shortness of breath and coughing and not being able to breathe in deep. Still winded walking up and down flights and around the house. I still feel like someone should test me properly. I am convinced I have this virus in my body. And I have no clue if I definitely have this virus and if I should avoid going to work this weekend. The two mildest of the symptoms: My voice is different, the whole throat lining is irritated from all the coughing and slightly sore, but it's not a seriously sore throat and doesn't hurt to talk or eat or move. I also only have had a slight fever since the second day and mostly no fever- but the issue is definitely in the lungs - lower area of lungs.

Woman "O" is rude and insulting on the phone appointment line. Management needs to review…read moreemployees currently treating patients poorly. This woman actually criticizes and verbally attacks callers. Also, front desk is a hot mess as usual. Poker faced woman at check out window is the last rude experience patients have as they leave. Shish-boom. Management, please do something, anything. These employees are toying with patient well-being.

Although my children have outgrown the practice, I can tell you that Dr. Woodward is the best…read morepediatrician I have ever used for my kids. She is smart, caring and she spends a lot of time with you and your child. She is an excellent diagnostician and will call you and is generous with her time during phone calls.
