It was not, but I let him think I thought it was because his ego seems so big that was the only communication possible. I did not get the best haircut of my life. Instead, I experienced ageism, misogyny, and a guy whose ego seems to know no bounds. If you are over 45, I suggest you don't even try this salon. Timothy rolls his eyes about his mother's "performance" when doing his laundry. Timothy does not care about his clients in equal measure. If you are over 65, you won't get a very warm welcome that lasts for very long. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! read more

First time visiting for a pedicure. Jeffrey was wonderful. So nice and meticulous! I didn't want the massage to end! His hands are magic! Note: they prefer tips to be paid in cash. My experience at Timothy Jeffry Salon was great. Upon first walking in, I immediately felt welcome and comfortable. The person at the front desk was very friendly and inviting. However, what really struck me was how well all the employees got along with each other. You can tell they are good friends and care about the customer AND their coworkers. They were telling inside jokes and asking about what they did over the weekend, plus, they let you in! They explained the inside jokes to you and made you feel included in the questions like you are apart of the group! Clearly, this is a great work environment, which makes it a great experience for you. Usually when I get my hair done someplace new there is that awkward silence or a bombardment of small-talk questions. However, with Sam, the person styling my hair, it was never awkward. He kept the conversation going seamlessly and even when the hair dryer was going the talking breaks felt natural. He was so caring and enthusiastic it is impossible to be in a bad mood. Plus he was great at doing hair! Not only was it definitely in my top 5 hair washing experiences, my hair felt lighter and smoother upon leaving. Granted I always just get a trim, but the layers were perfect. Since I was there, I decided last minute I wanted to get my eyebrows done and I asked if it was possible. They were able to accommodate me no problem. Amanda did my eyebrows and they were perfect. I wouldn't normally spend $15 on eyebrows, but it was worth the money. They were neat with perfect shape. Just like Sam, Amanda was super nice and clearly enjoyed her job. The cost is probably a bit high for the area, but compared to Chicago prices it really isn't too much. Its a little far to go regularly, but if I'm in the area again, I'll definitely come here. read more

Small salon + personalized treatments = great go to for all your hair needs Came here to go blond. As a dark brunette this is no easy task. It took two visits but they finally got me where I wanted to be. It also didn't cost me $300 which was great because it could have been a lot more expensive. They tend to get busy during the summer I guess which makes sense because they don't seem to have too many stylists. I will def come back next year for my summer hair needs! read more

If you are wanting a no-chip manicure that truly lasts, then look no further! I was so impressed with the service I received at this salon! I walked out with a killer no-chip manicure! Upon arrival, I was greeted by a receptionist, then my nail tech. She shook my hand and introduced herself. She immediately engaged in friendly conversation and asked what type of manicure I was looking for. After telling her about my unfortunate no-chip experiences, she explained the process of what a no-chip manicure should be, and gave me helpful tips to ensure a long lasting manicure. She was so friendly and really made me feel like giving me the best experience and manicure was her top priority. The whole process took about an hour. During that time, I also met one of the owner's of the salon. It's nice to see the presence of the salon owner and to know that his goal is to have a smooth running salon. It's now been 3 weeks with NO CHIPS! I will be going in this week to have another manicure. And not due to any chipping, but because my nails have grown out so much in these 3 weeks. I have finally found the perfect salon to meet my needs and expectations of what a no-chip manicure should be! Hands down the best $35 I've ever spent on a manicure. Go see Isabel immediately! Hands down, one of the best haircuts I've ever received. I came here because I had heard good things, and I wanted to continue my loyalty to Aveda. My appointment was with the owner, Timothy. I walked in and told him he could do whatever he wanted with my hair and was blown away with how quickly he took me from having a too-long (almost shoulder length) grown out bob to a long-ish pixie cut. I felt he had amazing vision. I would definitely trust him with my hair again and will be recommending the salon to friends. I was very disappointed with this Aveda salon, although I will say my hair looks great. I know I can get much better service with the same results elsewhere, though, so I will not be returning. Here's why... There was nowhere to sit while waiting for my hairdresser to greet me. I simply stood in the lobby. My hair was washed with cold water which wasn't pleasant on an already chilly day. The stylists were having conversations about their personal lives clear across the room. It's one thing to chat with each other about a general topic to which any salon guest could contribute...but another thing to be talking about their dating and social lives. A tad late posting this, but had my hair cut and colored by Kendall back in April and she did an amazing job. She suggested going lighter than I had thought about going and she was spot on, I loved it! Her haircut was also absolutely wonderful, I was beyond thrilled. She is also so sweet and a blast to talk to. I also loved the vibe the other stylists had in joking around and talking with all the clients. OMG! Tim is a hair magician - a true artist! I've had my hair done by a couple people at Aveda salons in New Buffalo with disappointing results. Then someone recommended Tim, so I made my appointment with him. He was so warm and friendly, that I immediately felt as ease, but was still skeptical about whether he could make my hair "come alive" again. After my color finished processing and my hair was washed, I was ready for my haircut. I got back in the styling chair and was treated to the MOST FABULOUS neck massage. Then Tim turned my back to the mirror and began snipping away. When he finished, he turned me around and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a hair miracle. My friend and I had appointments and showed up a few minutes early. After we stood at the counter for about five minutes, a gentleman (not sure if it was Timothy or Jeffry) finally came out and checked us in. He was rude to a customer on the phone, to us, and to another customer waiting. He barely spoke to us and went back in the other room. After waiting until 30 minutes after my appointment time and not being acknowledged, we finally left. I did get a phone call 15 minutes later (45 after my appt time) not apologizing, just asking where we were. What is the point of having appointments if they aren't honored? We would have been fine waiting if we were just told they were a little behind. After being treated so rudely, I will never go back and do not recommend this salon. read more

I visited the salon today to cut 10 inches off for donation. My stylist, Alli, was great. It was like she jumped into my head and saw the cut I wanted, and voila. Perfect. I went in for the first time this week and saw Tristan. I have short, wavy hair and am very hesitant to try new people because they love to cut it too short/ don't listen to my specific requests and Tristan NAILED it. I'm not a diva but am very particular about my hair having worked in the beauty industry for years. While I've known Tim for 20 years and know the quality of work you can receive here, my favorite part of Timothy Jeffery Salon is Michael Reid. As someone with thick, curly hair, I have a hard time trusting someone to cut, color, and blow dry my hair. It takes REAL talent to get my hair as straight as Michael can! He is an amazing colorist as well, giving me exactly what I ask for and making it 100% better than I could have expected. If you make an appointment with Michael, you won't be disappointed. read more
