"I had my surgery done right side eye Aug 10 and left side 31 Aug 2022 ago. I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL! He is maybe a good Dr, BUT money is first!!! Not telling you $5.000 extra plus insurance from your packet MAYBE STILL USING EYEGLASSES!!!! He made.me get advanced lens for cataracts problem. cost me $5000.00 is not cover by insurance, plus my insurance paid him for everything beside my 5k he collects from me. He promised me i don't have to wear glasses anymore BUT that's fault not true JUST EXTRA MONEY for him. I was going a few times every month to see him for eye problem or correction keep saying come back next month (more money to collect from insurance) and NO help or NO CORRECTIO for me! A woman from Dr. Timothy Wang's office responded to my call immediately after l left my phone message and hanged up, losing not even half a minute. This woman advised me that Dr. Timothy Wang does not take care of anyone who had a cataract survey done by any other doctor, then asked me a ton of questions. I finally had to stop her by telling her that it was not necessary for her to ask me that many questions. And her response was, "I am just asking questions." read more

Excellent doctor that definitely knows what he's doing. My mom needed cataract surgery in both eyes, so she went to him. The surgery was done at Regional Hospital right across the street in the morning (9am). Later in the day (4pm), we went back to his office to do a check up. I believe he is very thorough. My mom said he also did surgery on my eyes over 20 years ago, but I don't remember because I was only 2 years old. I turned out fine though! The only thing I'm annoyed about is the wait in his office. He does a batch of surgeries on certain days. They are all scheduled back to back, but they aren't spaced out enough. We had to wait an hour after our appointment time to see him. This is inconvenient for people that are pressed on time. I would take down half a star because of that. read more

My primary care physician recommend Dr. Wang for my yearly Diabetic Eye examination. Dr. Wang was very busy so I got an appointment in 2 weeks but then I asked his assistant (Julia) if she can squeeze me in sooner and she managed to do that. She is a very nice lady and she gave me a details information of what I need to bring to the appointment. When I arrived to my appointment there were many people waiting for post-surgery care after they have done eye surgery in the morning. Some of those people came from all over the US and one from China. When my turn came, Dr. Wang started checking my eyes and gave me a detail explanation and recommendation. I've been seeing Dr. Wang for more than 25 years. With my severe nearsightedness (-11.00) and astigmatism, I'm blind as bat without glasses and prone for many types of eye problems including retinal detachment. Dr. Wang has been the guardian of my vision and seeing Dr. Wang on regular bases has been one of the most important routines. Cataract has been one issue that I've been aware of and being monitored by Dr. Wang for years, it finally came to a point that it started to bother me, especially on a sunny day outdoor, with the bright light shining on the cataract, the vision become like seeing things through a dirty window, it also gets a bit scary driving in the night as the headlight glare from other cars could cause a cloudy vision. This is when Dr. Wang suggested cataract surgery, this is an eye surgery procedure I'm familiar with but have not been considering as it's kind of scary thinking about it. But this time I decided to move forward. With Dr. Wang's precise calculation and magical skill over years of practice, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. For the first time in my entire adult life, I no longer need to protect my glasses at all costs, and able to see things without glasses, but that's an understatement, my post-surgery vision is actually at 20/20, it's like a miracle. Comparing to my prior vision with thick glasses, the world is now much larger and clearer without distortion. With the tri-focal interocular lens implanted, eyeglasses are no longer a necessity, not even for reading. Dr. Timothy Wang is the best ophthalmologist among the best in the Bay Area. I just had my cataract surgery for both eyes, three weeks apart in May 2020. Dr. Wang shows his profession, caring, patient and thoroughly exams before surgery, on the surgery day and post surgery care. The outcome of the surgery was excellent. You might need to wait for longer time for your appointment as he is always taking the time to explain to his patient or do the exam so I wouldn't mind to wait, as while I was in the exam room, there are patients waiting outside for me to come out, therefore I do fully understand and appreciate his patient as always. I have been Dr. Wang's patient for over 20 years, and have received good care and expert treatments during every office visit. Already knowing that Dr. Wang is an excellent doctor, my recent cataract surgery experience with Dr. Wang is still beyond my expectation. I have been hesitated to do the surgery for several years, mainly because that I could not decide what kind of lens, mono vision or multi vision, is good. Searching on internet, I saw various opinions, and some comments on multi vision lens are very negative. Dr. Wang understand my concerns and answered my questions patiently. He taught me that lens need to be selected based on patient's eye conditions as well as life styles. He personally checked and measured my eyes multiple times, asked my daily activities, then recommended me to use Multi vision lens. At the hospital waiting room before surgery, a nurse told me that she herself would use Dr. Wang, had she have a need for cataract surgery. She further explained that Dr. Wang is very care and skillful during surgeries. For example, he cleaned the patient's eyes thoroughly after removing the cataract, before inserting a replacement lens. Another pleasant surprise came at my optometrist office visit. (I only did surgery on one eye this year, so need new glasses). I have been seeing the optometrist for more than 20 years. When he checked my eyes and eye sight, he immediately said "congratulations that you have such a successful surgery". I asked him how to judge. He said three metrics. I remembered the first two: the center of the lens and the center of pupil are aligned perfectly; the lens is stable (no shift). My optometrist congratulated me again when I left his office. It must be an unusually successful surgery he saw during all those years of his practice By the way, when discussing cataract surgery with my friends, some of them said that the first question from their eye doctors is 'do you want mono vision or multi vision lens? The multi vision will cost more money'. Having seen how Dr. Wang helped me to make such decision, I think that a responsible doctor should not leave patient alone to make such decisions without checking and giving technical explanations on the pros and cons of the choices. A friend's friend did not get satisfied eye sight after a cataract surgery using multi vision lens, then his doctor said that his eye condition is a kind of too complex for the lens. I believe that Dr. Wang would detect the situation beforehand. I once read a comment on website "choosing multi focus lens is the worst decision I have made...". That message played a major role for my delaying of cataract surgery. Now I know that it has little to do with selecting lens, it has everything to do with choosing a good eye doctor!
