I've been going to Tim's Pharmacy for 5 or 6 years for my prescription needs, vaccinations and other OTC products. They have always been friendly and helpful. I'd much rather go there instead of the national chain pharmacy down the street. I also like that I can grab a latte, mocha, scoop of ice cream or some other tasty snack at the Holy Grounds coffee shop inside Tim's. And not to forget the candy counter with all kinds of chocolaty treats! I don't know of anywhere else in Yelm that has a selection of chocolates like they have at Tim's Pharmacy. IM IN LOVE!!!!! I found my baby's calming drops Camilla (homeopathic)! I went to six stores in Yelm and only found the meds at Tim's! But then I found adorable baby clothes and got fresh chocolates on the way out! The vibe is charming country store meets old fashioned pharmacy! There are knick nacks and essentials ! The items are slightly expensive, but it's nichie so it's expensive and when it comes to baby meds, I'll pay! I even overheard an employee teaching an old man how to send a text message ( or something of the sort). This the place to go!! The pharmacists (especially Jenny) are amazing! What could've taken up to 5 days for an Rx, they had together in one afternoon for me! They worked with my insurance and saved me over $100!! And that's just the pharmacy... The store/gift shop is so charming, full of cute and unique stuff, and they have everything! Kind of a cool place to go they got some interesting things I've shopped here many times before and don't mind paying a little bit extra as all the prices are a little bit higher because they would do things like wrap your presents for free I went and bought a Valentine's Day gift today for my daughter and they said they now have to charge for wrapping it really seems like Amazon is a much better buy these days which is unfortunate because we do like to support local businesses but it's the small things that really make you keep coming back in free wrapping on a little box was one of them read more

The major reason for my 99% patronage of Tim's is the fact that he hand-delivered to my mother's home in the country area of Yelm to my dying mother's bedside, morphine. All stores and pharmacies were closed on that horrible Saturday night at 9pm in 2005. I called him at home, I got him the prescription, and he personally delivered at 10:30pm, the drug that relieved my mother's horrific pain that had started that night. We could not believe it! THAT is why I recommend Tim's Pharmacy to anyone who listens. They won't sell any bus passes after 6 pm, I need one for my son. Super inconvenient, I usually spend more money in here than just the bus pass but no more. It says no where other than the coffee counter that they close earlier than the posted business hours for the rest of the store. The girl was very rude when I asked about the bus passes. I'll take my business elsewhere. I drove all the way out here for the pass, so yes I am frustrated. But that doesn't change the fact that the customer service was poor. Bought something from the gift shop, the item didn't work properly, the manager took forever to help when I asked if I could get it refunded after just purchasing it like 10 mins ago and she told me she couldn't resell it, therefore she couldn't help me, and told me I could call the 1-800 number and maybe they'll send me a replacement... super annoyed, whether or not they had a sign up saying no refunds I don't know, but I thought it was a poor way to handle a first time customer. Communication is not their strong point. Called ahead to make sure meds were ready and was told they were. Waited another 30 minutes and went in and meds weren't really ready. Gave them insurance card and was given back to me. Waited another 20 minutes for meds to be ready. The girl starts ringing up my meds then she asked me for insurance card which they ignored 20 mins earlier. Indeed this meant another wait, because they had to run the card, get a new price and then get an override for the previous charge. Let me first state that I've lived in The Yelm/McKenna area for nearly 20 years. I like to support local businesses. That said, I tried my best to be a loyal customer to this hometown pharmacy/gift shop. As far as the gifts go, selection is great, lots of jewelry, textiles, typical sayings on wood for $40... you get the idea. Also, a cute, tiny coffee & Snack bar area. People tend to migrate here while waiting for their prescriptions. The two stars is for the aforementioned. The remaining zero stars are for the pharmacy. Customer service, nope,not here...unless you are part of the geriatric club that seems to live by their own rules. I never get a smile or hello,sometimes just a grimace. My Dr. is prompt, my meds are not difficult, although they seems to be a severe challenge for this team. If there are ANY changes to your medications, they may or may not call you to let you know that your dose will continue even after they electively cancel the prior order. I've also spoken to many community members with tales of sub standard service, I'm hoping to find another place in town that greets their customers or at least let them know your matter. P.s. Thank God for Tims! My insurance company Lifewise has screwed up and is saying it's to early to refill my 30 day prescription of thyroid but it's NOT to early and I'm out! And the insurance office is closed so nothing I can do! But because Tims is so awesome they've got my back and gave me a few to last till Monday so I don't run out! Plus they have an emergency number if you need something and they are not open they will come in for you! It's true small town service! I love Tims! I have been a customer of Tim's since Tim Larson bought this place. The staff is always friendly and helpful. In 30 years I have never had a complaint about them or their service. They recently added a coffee shop that is good. They take returns w/out complaints and go out of their way to provide excellent customer service. They have been able to compound and fullfill my medicine needs through EVERYTHING. They have gone far beyond so many by hand delivering my medications many times. I love going in to Tims!!! I can always find something that I need or even a gift for someone else! Rebekah and Tandra made the absolute best coffees in their cute little coffee shop by the pharmacy! I'm always greeted with a smile and asked if I need any help finding anything...and they have the most unique treats there too! The owner Tim and his son Ben are such helpful, kind people who will go above and beyond to help you, answer questions and make sure you understand everything about the medication and possible side effects. The other's? Nice enough. Ben's wife is very helpful and kind as well. Helping in the GORGEOUS gift shop inside! They have the most unique, beautiful items there you can't find anywhere else! LOVE THE GIFT SHOP! You can have an expresso and there is a gourmet chocolate counter there as well! Wonderful place with great people. It sometimes takes a really long time to get your prescription for some reason though. I've never gotten mine in less than 35-45 minutes. Oh well. Very cool little store. Can definitely find a special gift for that hard to shop person. Their pharmacy staff is really pleasant and most helpful. They answered all of my questions for me about over the counter products I was searching for. I found that a lot of the things I was looking for (probiotics, essential oils, and liquid melatonin) were a lot cheaper here than the store Super Supplements. They have a good size selection of different things you may need. Their parking lot is smaller and can definitely be a pain. The staff at the front register could be a little friendlier. Would definitely recommend Tim's to anyone. read more

Yesterday while waiting on my coffee, i couldn't help but notice the owner Tim sitting at a table speaking with a person, (not gonna say if this person was male or female, but if Tim reads this, he'll know what I'm speaking on). Tim was pretty much yelling at this customer, degrading this person in front of so many customers who were waiting on either their coffees or ice cream. This place is huge on their Christian faith, and plays Christian music. Tim himself is a huge Church going guy himself. But after seeing how he treated this person in front of everyone, instead of taking this person to a more private area, he felt the need to do it right in front of everyone. The person just sat there and took this all in. I waited outside for this person to ask if they were alright. This person went on to explain to me the situation that caused all that unnecessary commotion. After hearing this person's story, I was even more sick to my stomach. Tim forced this person to hear him out, but could care less of this person's situation. I understand he has a business to run, but you can't consider yourself a man of faith if your not willing to listen to both sides of the story. Then degrading a person, especially in front of his customers was beyond wrong. This person is trying their hardest to get back to where things were before, and supposedly explained their situation to Tim who apparently can care less. I love coming to this place, it's so warm and welcoming. But after seeing the anger and frustration this so called man of God had on his face while degrading someone in front of others, took so much from me. I gave this person a huge hug after we had spoke. I had wished them the best and that things will get back to where it should, just stay strong and keep faith and don't give up. Tim, you of all people are in a position to help people, direct them in the right direction. If they steer off, you need to help them back to where they need to be. Circumstances changes from time to time for people Tim. Everyone in our community looks up to folks like you, for help, guidance or comfort. You degrading this person who was patiently and quietly waiting at that table in front of everyone yesterday tore me apart and made me look at you in a whole new light and made me realize just how angry someone you think so highly of, can get. I'll pray for you again tonight Tim, and wish you and your business well, cause you've lost me as a faithful customer. As for the person you sat down next too at the table, the person who you embarrassed in front of your customers, they'll get back to where they need to be, just breaks my heart that they had faith in you to help them to get there. But they too said they won't be coming back. Not because of what you did, but because they didn't want to make you upset anymore, or worse, have you look at them as someone different due to their situation, from who they really are, (words from this person's own mouth by the way). Just so you know too Tim, this person was so hurt that they ended up sitting outside of your store for quite sometime, just staring off into the distance. I drove down to McDonalds and was there for a while, and on my way back towards McKenna, when I drove passed your store, that person was sitting in the same spot with the same look on there face. I live in Yelm and have been in Tim's a few times. Let me start of by saying they are overpriced. Yesterday, myself, my husband, and our three children went into Tim's to get my grandmother a birthday gift. (She loves the personalized wine glasses and coffee cups). While we were looking my husband found a stuffed animal for our 6 month old to play with. He loved it so we planned on buying it but it did not have a price tag so we were thinking maybe 15-20$. As we walked through the store my son played with the stuffed animal getting a little bit of slobber on the tag that did not have a price. When we get to the counter I told the lady who was cashing us out that it did not have a price so she called for someone (I'm assuming the manager) to get a price. She comes back and says it is 49.99!!!! Yes, 50.00$ for a stuffed animal! That's worse than Disneyland prices! So I tell her that we are not going to buy it and it is WAY overpriced. The gal who did the price check then tells me that our son drooled on the price tag and at Tim's if you break it you bought it. I was outraged! Nothing was wrong with the animal and the tag did not even have a price! I decided to just say ok when she offered to get the owner because I knew I was going to lose my temper and I had my children with me and did not want to cause a scene. However, I still can't believe that it even happened. Tim's Is a HUGE rip off and I would not recommend shopping there. Needless to say we will NOT be going back. read more
