Tonys should be a Saginaw Historic Landmark. I've been to many of their locations, but visit this one most frequently, because my parents live close by. I am sure I visit every time I come home to Saginaw. The Giant Steak sandwich is what they are famous for. All their food is excellent and in hefty portions. The Italian bread they make their sandwiches on is the absolute best. Their breakfast meals fantastic. French Fries with Gravy are excellent as well. Whoppy Burgers and Salads too die for. Ok then you think you are finished and want dessert. Well the Banana Split is a meal all on its own. Can be shared by 4 people or more. I think I finished one by myself back in the late 80s while in high school. 9 scoops of ice cream. This place is the best bang for the buck. I wish they would open one in Tampa. I wish I had more photos, but only ordered the Steak Sandwich and Fries. Will take my kids next visit for the Banana Split for a photo. A must stop for all who visit Saginaw. At any location.

One of the best places for breakfast in Saginaw. Remember to bring cash or check as they do not accept any plastic.

We stopped in for breakfast, and one of us had pancakes, that I think a semi drove over them first. My son had to tare them apart to eat, because they were too tough to cut with a knife. He had to dump on a bunch of syrup to eat them. They're were as dry as my xhusbands personality. He had a soda to wash them down, with a small 3$ glass of soda. When they offered her a refill he said please. What we didn't know at the time, was that they charge an additional 3$ for refills. So 6$ for soda. We looked again at the menu again & didn't see an additional charge for refills. After I mentioned that to our very nice waitress, They removed the second one for 3$ from the bill. I mentioned it to the waitress thry need to state that on their menu Especially for family's that bring kids. The additional charge on soda's would break them. Moving on to the next meal. Ordered eggs over easy, they were cooked too hard, harder than my MIL heart. Hash browns were the frozen triangle kind. If you wanted home fries, there was an upcharge. NOW, the cheapest thing to serve, is potatoes, Link sausage was mediocre. Toast was good. Finally when we received the bill, it didn't add up to what was on their machine. I was told That was because they added on, like many businesse's are doing now, a 3% charge to use your credit card. That was posted, in tiny print on their menu. For years we were encouraged to use your CC. NOW, we're penalized and charged extra for doing so. In my opinion this business practice is the price of doing business. The customer should not be charged. Our waitress was very nice.

They have a lot of very fresh food that reminds you of what your grandmother might have made. There's board games if you just want to sit and hang out and have a coffee. My friend had a beautiful salad and I had a great grilled cheese with bacon and Brie. It was delicious. I believe everything is local. I had a corn soup as well which had big chunks of potatoes a tasty broth and lots of corn. I definitely plan to go back here. They have breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. There's a bar inside with plenty of seating. Definitely check them out. They are kind of hidden behind the McDonald's but you'll see a sign out front for them.

Great service and food!…read more It was our first time here since we're from out of state. We found it from a brunch search in Google. It's a little hidden since it's in the back of the plaza. There's plenty of parking and even though it's a small location we were quickly seated at the bar. Everyone was friendly and very attentive. For breakfast I had the two friend eggs with home fries and fresh fruit (blueberries, 2 juicy cherries, and grapes). The person I went with got the dilemma which has French toast, two eggs and bacon. He asked for his eggs to be runny I asked for over hard and they were both perfectly cooked. I wish this place was a local restaurant for us, we really enjoyed it and the service was top notch. I just wish I had gotten our waitress' name, she went the extra mile for us. We were curious about the iron fish liqueur and she took the time to tell us about.
