I can always get THEE best breakfast sandwich not only in Saginaw, not only Michigan, but in the entire world here!!! I get The Starter with bacon and add Mayo Tomato and Lettuce. It's perfect. The food is ok, the noise levels are high. We ate here because of convenience and to locals it's recognizable. However, do not go out of your way to dine here. They are short on sustanance and long on filler. If you like lots of bread this is your place. read more

The best Tony's in Saginaw?? Probably. I like fashion square too, but the wait staff at Tim's Tony's is superb, and the food comes out fast and prepared properly every time. For me, the best breakfast in town, and the epitome of an American Diner experience. Wish they took cards, though. read more

This is a restaurant I think you need to have a history with to really appreciate the authenticity and memories to make it special. There's nothing special about the decor. Nothing that stands out for originality. In fact, there is nothing much on the walls. The tables are close together because they are so busy they have to make every inch count. The biggest seller at this place is the giant steak sandwich. Now...this is where things get confusing to me because...it's not steak. It's ground steak, not sliced or shaved steak like you would think. Almost like a steak burger but elongated! It was loaded with cheese and sloppy italian sauce to make it great! I could only eat 1/2 of the sandwich. It was good. It was very good but misleading to a stranger in town. Very good prices. I just think you have to grow up with it to appreciate it more than I do. read more

Tonys should be a Saginaw Historic Landmark. I've been to many of their locations, but visit this one most frequently, because my parents live close by. I am sure I visit every time I come home to Saginaw. The Giant Steak sandwich is what they are famous for. All their food is excellent and in hefty portions. The Italian bread they make their sandwiches on is the absolute best. Their breakfast meals fantastic. French Fries with Gravy are excellent as well. Whoppy Burgers and Salads too die for. Ok then you think you are finished and want dessert. Well the Banana Split is a meal all on its own. Can be shared by 4 people or more. I think I finished one by myself back in the late 80s while in high school. 9 scoops of ice cream. This place is the best bang for the buck. I wish they would open one in Tampa. I wish I had more photos, but only ordered the Steak Sandwich and Fries. Will take my kids next visit for the Banana Split for a photo. A must stop for all who visit Saginaw. So the GF and I came here to meet up with her HS friends - a nice diner-esque atmosphere with friendly, quick service. I had the breakfast burrito - a healthy portion that was filled with creamy eggs, mountains of cheese, and sausage. This was accompanied by a saucer of salsa. I've got to admit - for something so simple, this really hit the spot. $5.99 to boot - if I lived around here ... I would have a hefty waistline for sure and even deeper pockets. The GF had something called the '2 eggs something or other' - it was essentially, eggs, toast (she went with wheat), nicely crisped hash browns, and about 6-8 links of sausage (of which I ate about three or four). Another steal of a deal at $7.99. I love diners - and Tony's gets the job done. FYI - on a Sunday before Xmas - this place was packed, but the service was quick, efficient, and even after finishing our meal. We sat there for a good 10-15 minutes catching up before we felt bad enough to get up and head on our way. read more

Tim's Tony's is the BEST Tony's in Saginaw. The restaurant is always clean, and the entire staff ( Kitchen, along with the wait staff) is always very personal & welcoming. They know you by name, and are always very kind. Not only is the staff 10/10, the quick service makes for a better dining experience. Excellent service, their ice is crushed just makes the soda taste better. Recommend cornbeef hash crispy with eggs over easy on top for breakfast, Perfect every time. My family and I eat here almost once a week!!! I crave the steak sandwhich. Breakfast is great too! Service is always warm and friendly, and they always remember me! Another odd thing I love about this Tony's, is their ice! It's crushed ice that makes any cold drink you get, amazing! Generally, you get what you expect here. Large portions, nothing fancy. Generally a good breakfast. Several generations of our family eat here regularly. Today, we had the slowest waitress ever. Last two times, the eggs were snotty and the hash browns cold. The coffee is now like tea water. The ONE thing you could always count on was a good strong cup of coffee. Not any more. Last several times we've been there the coffee tasted like used grounds were run through a paper towel. You could see through it. We asked about stronger coffee and were told "There's nothing we can do about it. The beans are measured and it grinds them-we can't change it." All three generations of our family agree-this ruined our breakfast. We can get a good breakfast and large portions at a truck stop...with MUCH better coffee. read more

We ordered foe each a Whoopy burger with sauce and onions, with a salad. the salad for so dry hardly any sauce on the burger. dry dry dry, so we get our bill. charged for the sauce and onions on both. I asked why they said they just started that then why didnt the waitress tell us that. so tell me what you get when you order this. i suppose if you ordered catsup, mustard. and onions. they would charge you for each. believe me I will let everyone stay clear of tims. i will never be back with all the extras it was over $20. what a joke. Living in Indiana for the past 26 yrs Tony's was something I was excited about when I moved back to Saginaw, for the past year I have been disappointed every time I've ordered food. I have never had my fries cooked "crispy " like I request every time. Do they hire cooks who can't read? Is it really that hard ? If they just tell me sorry our cooks don't do special requests then I wouldn't be disappointed every time. I ordered cod dinner and not only were fries not crispy, my fish were mushy like microwave mushy! Immediately took my takeout back and asked for refund. Nope, no refunds. Offered new food, really ? not going to eat that! At least if you order in you haven't paid for it yet and can refuse the food. Will never eat here again! What happened to the old Tony's? Would recommend McDonalds over this Tony's! read more

Great food last night. Ground beef sandwiches were huge, grilled bread was nice and they did not pour on too much sauce. my daughter had the cinnamon swirl pancakes and could only eat 3 of the 4. Son had the Woppy burger and was very happy. We Ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, Instead of the normal bulk button style in a tasteless breading you need to season with salt, out came sliced Portabella's with a crispy crust. They were really good. The 4 of us left stuffed for $51 including soda's. the place is a bit older but it was clean and our waitress was very attentive. read more

NEVER, NEVER,NEVER go here! The food is horrible...hubby's hamburger was dry, son's spaghetti was full of water (after I told the waitress to be SURE to tell the cook to drain the noodles! I don't think she even told him.) my Steak Sandwich was covered in SPAGHETTI sauce (who does this? YUK!!) I love steak sandwiches, and it's supposed to have steak sandwich sauce like all the other Tony's serve, NOT spaghetti sdauce! If I wanted this, Id pour a jar of Prego over a thin hamburger...that's what this tasted like. Pretty gross..... And the bread they gave us was mostly crust. The chili had way too much Cumin and chili powder, it tasted fake.. Portions were small, not like when the previous owner had it. When we went in, we had a coupon buy 1 ENTREE get one free. So we asked Shannon, "So we buy 1 entree for $6.69 and we get one free?" She said yes. "ok, then we buy two adult entrees, we should get one free. Then we buy a kid's meal for my son. Yeah, right. Instead of ringing them separately, like a decent person would do, our bill was $20.00 because she rang everything together and took off the kid's meal! The coupon wasn't even for a kid's meal! It was a terrible meal in a cold restaurant with a waitress more interested in socializing then waiting on us. I will never go there again, and I want to warn others.....STAY AWAY! The food here is some of the best in town, and their specials are absolute steals for the amount and quality of food you get. I particularly love their N special. You get 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 4 pieces of toast, and 2 pieces of meat (Sauasage or bacon) for UNDER $5!!!!! They're also FAMOUS around here for their steak sandwiches, which are the bomb! 5/5 stars, EASILY. Highly recommend eating here if you're in town. read more

I have eaten here OFTEN for a long time and I not only love the food but I love the service. Each and every time I have eaten here, I have had outstanding service and outstanding food. Never once has the food been cold or sub par. It is always delicious, fast & cheap. We stopped here for breakfast on Tuesday morning. Our order consisted of french toast and a corned beef hash omelet. When our food came, I tried some of the omelet... I couldn't get it out of my mouth fast enough! It tasted like dog food, so it was sent back. I ordered the french toast (Italian bread), and it wasn't very good either. The bread had egg on both sides, but the center was just dry, it had not been left in long enough to absorb. The sausage was tasty and the orange juice refreshing, but I'm left to wonder what happened to the yummy food and high standards that this restaurant once had.
