    Beautiful French pedicure by Fancy
    Jaclyn C.

Randomly decided to come here one day during my lunch break for a French pedicure. I was overwhelmed with the fact that I never seem to get this and only reserve the French pedicure for something big or special. I decided today was just as good a day as any, and I walked right in. I was greeted and asked if I had gel or polish and said no, and was told to sit in the back in a pedicure chair. After about 5-7 minutes, Fancy came to do my pedicure in the most delicate and caring way. I am not sure how seasoned of a nail tech Fancy is, but she was so careful and even suggested to give me a different nail polish because she said it was too white and I wouldn't see the French tip. She did a great quick leg massage too which was another nice bonus. I got just a regular French pedicure; no spa treatment since I was on my lunch hour. The massage chair was powerful and functioned well as I sat watching Fancy work. Between the service and tip, I paid $52 cash. They are a "cash-only" establishment, which I should've looked up or asked beforehand, so I had to use their ATM in the back. One star removed because their nail dryer was lacking in drying power and took a bit longer than usual to make sure my polish was completely dry. I'll be back again to see Fancy!

Love this salon!! A little bit of Patience is needed for their online waiting list, buuuut, it's worth the wait. Professional staff, good vibes, clean place, and overall very welcoming.

Had a great experience here! The facility was clean, I was seen promptly (made an appt), and my nails turned out great. Both employees were sweet and asked me questions about my preferences. They really tried to accommodate my needs without any attitude or frustration. Plus, I think the price was amazing. I paid $165 for a gel pedicure and gel x nails. Would definitely recommend and will be back

Good experience. Took about 1.5 hours to remove old gel and have a gel manicure. $38 before tip. Holding up nicely. the salon was clean with the expected vibe. Will be back

So it really pains me to give three stars. Back in July I came here and absolutely loved my nails. Not to mention, they lasted a good month! No chipping nothing! My daughter did her nails the same day, different nail tech. Still gorgeous. I literally travel from Long Island to this nail salon! So again, pains me to write this review. This time around I am so disappointed! My nail didn't just chip, the gel came off completely on one nail and chipped on the rest! Not even a week later! I wanted to love this place but the Inconsistency of service is a no for me. I'm so upset! I'm on vacation with my nails looking horrible.

    Bumpy nail art

I have heard great things about this salon, so I hate to write this review. Hopefully my experience was just on an off day for them. I left with extremely thick, wide, and bumpy nails. I brought in a photo of nail art I wanted for my new set of UV gel-x nails and made sure to ask if they were okay with doing a detailed design. They said they were, but the job was clearly rushed even though I had an appointment. I have never had nails with such a chunky texture, and all over, not just the places with detailed art. I called the next day, sent photos as requested, and was told I could get the set redone for no charge but I wouldn't be able to make an appointment for this service, would have to sign onto their waitlist a couple hours before coming in, and hope for the best as they said they couldn't guarantee anything. Given watching others have long waits, employees literally running around the salon, and reviews bemoaning wait times, it just doesn't seem worth it. I was also told that is was inconvenient for the salon as it would take a while but they didn't even offer an apology for the situation. To their credit, the art came out somewhat decent, although one thumb is particularly problematic. (see photos) also to their credit, I received a Jelly pedicure that was quite pleasant but worth noting it was done by a different technician. I would love to be able to report a better experience but after this I'm extremely hesitant to return.

Coming back to say that I've been coming here semi-regularly for over a year and every person who has worked on my nails has done an amazing job. My most recent manicure is one of the best gel applications I've ever had. It's also crazy affordable.

First time going. Not sure what this green is called but it was THE green at the time.

My friend had raved about this salon for years but I didn't know if I could find the time with it being in BK and I'm on the UES. I finally went -- twice. The full set was reasonably priced (around 75$) and they can do pretty much any design. The tech didn't get too frustrated with my indecisiveness. I didn't love the wait process. I couldn't tell if it was appointment friendly but it seemed like whether you waited or had a preset appointment you were waiting at least 30-45 min minimum for the next seat to open. The second time I went I got there at opening which seems to be the move.

Aside from the nice design I got done, I don't recommend this place. I made an appointment 3+ weeks in advance and they still were an hour late to my appointment. They switched my nail technician 3 different times while getting my nails done too, which was unhelpful because I had to tip 3 separate times. Additionally, my nails chipped one week into getting them done which never happens to me anymore when I get gel or dip. I was at the nail salon for 4+ hours total and did not have a great experience. Don't come here if you're in a rush.

I came in with no expectations just because you know how hard it is to find a good nail tech. And she did better than the picture I showed her. I have a bad memory so I can't remember what her name was but I am so happy my friend pointed me to this place I am beyond happy with my results. Also, I had an appointment and that seems to be best considering how fast they get busy.

The design that I had asked for and showed a picture of but using my color choices.

I used to come to this nail salon when I lived in the neighborhood. I have since moved but every now and then I'll make the effort to go back for a mani/pedi. I convinced my friend to come with me recently because I raved about the quality of the work and great nail designs. Unfortunately, I left very disappointed with the manicure I received. I showed Ansel a photo of the design I wanted. My nails were currently squared but since the photo's nails were rounded he rounded my nails without even asking. The photo was for the design only. I wasn't even using the same colors or getting the same nail length. I've never not had a nail technician ask how I want my nails shaped but if he was going to make an assumption he should have at least gone with the current shape that I had. In addition to this, his filing job wasn't even or symmetrical. I also had paint on many of my fingers when it was finished and he did too many layers of gel to the point where it looked SO thick. The design wasn't straight and didn't look like what I had showed him. I have had great designs and manicures from here before. I know that manicures aren't going to look perfect but this really wasn't good at all. I left wanting to soak it off as soon as I got home. As a salon that prides itself on its nail art, especially on Instagram, everyone should be able to produce the same quality. If not, then they should be passed to someone that can do the job correctly. I don't usually complain but this manicure was just bad all around. I really couldn't find a single thing that I liked about it. I've had other experiences with Ansel before and wasn't very happy with the job he did. If I come back, I will always ask for someone other than him from now on. He just doesn't seem to care about quality or attention to details. The manicure only lasted for a week before they started lifting. I had to soak them off 7 days later because I couldn't run my hands through my hair without it getting caught under all the lifted areas. NEVER go to Ansel!

While my technician was applying polish, I noticed it was unevenly coated on 2 of my nails. It was supposed to dry in 5 mins and after 7 mins I touched the uneven coat and it smudged. I asked the technician to fix it and she did. We waited about 10 mins for the polish to dry, my daughter waited longer since her pedi was short. When we got home her polish is completely smudged. Overall I enjoyed the experience but dont think this is for me. I got the basic gel manicure and regular pedicure, and it came out to $98 before tax + tip. I got my nails done with Jasmin, and she did a great job perfectly shaping my nails + painting. Also was so impressed with my pedicure (not pictured), as my feet were in terrible condition and they look soooo good now! It's been a week and my nails haven't chipped at all. Sometimes when I go to nail salons the paint job is a little messy, and when I do light colors I'm worried about it being streaky or uneven, but this place was really great about meticulously painting, and it looks great! They also give you a little moisturizer and hand/foot massage with the standard mani/pedi which was a nice touch. Everyone there was super nice and I like that there was a cafe attached where you could get something to sip on or eat while you waited. All in all, would definitely recommend, really high quality service and good value IMO, will be coming back soon!

When googling around I saw they had this service listed on their website. I just recently moved to a building two blocks over so I stopped by to make an appointment to have them removed. Everything after that was chaos. They had no idea what I was asking for and treated me like I was doing something shady or weird, when it's a listed service on their website with a price and everything. Halfway through the service, they asked if I also wanted a manicure. I repeated what I told the woman at the front desk: my nails beneath the extensions are too weak and damaged from all the fill ins so I want to let them grow out a bit, but I wanted to have them filed / trimmed / shaped etc once the extensions were off so the would at least look clean. They told me this would cost extra. I gave them some side eye because that should be part of the price but told them that was fine. At the end of the service, the woman told me I was done and could go. I was shocked. My nails were a mess. Not trimmed, not neat, with edges literally cracking and hanging off. They didn't charge me for the clean up service, but I couldn't believe they were going to send me on my way with nails looking how they did, super damaged and ugly. I went home to finish the job myself. Additionally, they treated every other customer who came in way different. Other girls were offered little stools to put their bags on while mine was put on the floor right next to old nail clippings etc. Even if it wasn't for the terrible service, I wouldnt go back for the poor treatment alone. I was treated so strangely for asking for a service that they say, per their website, they offer. Luckily, primp and polish is only a few blocks away. I've been going there ever since. I went in after seeing all the great reviews since I was in the area and the receptionist told me it would be a 1/2 hour wait for a mani pedi. No problem. Because it's small and they seem to have a loyal customer following I had no problem waiting a bit instead of trying a few of the nearby places. I loved the huge variety of colors and brands, and especially that they carry Zoya polishes which are some of my favorites (they tend to apply very well and last), but you don't see them in salons very often. I got a really thorough but efficient basic mani-pedi. I was amazed at how quickly she worked and both my fingers and toes looked gorgeous after. Especially since my fingers had a pastel pistachio color that can sometimes apply streakily in the wrong hands. But nope, I got a flawless application. I stayed a bit longer to do an extra drying cycle because I didn't want to mess up the beautiful work I just had done. I'm giving it 3 stars because after only two days both the polish on my fingers and toes started chipping within 2 days. For fingers it's not that unexpected, even though I wasn't very active during that time. I was really surprised the toenail polish began chipping, since I've had good pedis that last 10-14 days unblemished and even longer and I thought the one I got at Freckle would be in the longer-lasting category. If I'm in the neighborhood I might try Freckle again because I walked out feeling great and my nails did look incredible from the start. It was just really disappointing that it lasted barely 48 hours.

Beautiful application of polish, good cuticle maintenance and lovely nail shape. But lasted barely 48 hours before chipping :-(
