Each time we've been here it seems they're either understaffed or not enough stockers are cashier trained because it'll be just one cashier until an antsy line queues and then someone notices and comes up to help ring down the line. Good selection of books and games. The front by the cashier also has a fun collection of gift items that change seasonally. There's a cafe in the back but it's usually pretty full so we haven't gone there yet. The store is well organized but maintenance needs to come in to clean the escalator and repaint since it is pretty dirty in some spots which is normal over time but looks like whoever is in charge of regional upkeep maybe hasn't noticed on their visits that this store needs so deep cleaning in some high foot traffic areas. They aren't f*uckin' around. This store has got what you need if you're a serious or aspiring artist. I work in many mediums and have never walked out of this shop without what I needed and even more of the stuff I didn't yet know I needed. It seems like I always learn something new here, find a tool I haven't used before, or find the things I've been looking to purchase again for years but couldn't find them anywhere else. High pigment oil paints? Obvi. Those little tiny eraser pen refills? Got 'em. Powdered charcoal? Yes. Liquid charcoal? Absolutely. 10 different kinds of vellum? Canvas stretching supplies? Bougie ceramic glazes? Check. Check. Check. The prices? Art store prices. Michael's and Hobby Lobby will charge you just as much for half the quality and a small fraction of the selection. (Ew) The staff? They've always been friendly and helpful with me. This place has always been busy when I went in, from what I can tell the cashiers work quickly. The COVID precautions? Blick flexes their customer skills here, too. They pay someone to stand in the doorway and monitor the number of people in the store, and kindly let you in when the number is back down. During peak times like this, they limit people to 15 minutes of in-store-time so they don't leave people outside forever. AND the counter gets a wipe down between each customer. The absolute worst customer service I have ever received in a retail location. My mother sent my…read morekids some winter items and got all the wrong sizes. It was about 6 packages that didn't come with any receipts. All I wanted to do was exchange them for sizes that were right. Not a refund. Cashier number 3268323 , didn't get her name and another boy who seemed to be in a supervisory position asked for a drivers license. No problem. Gave them my drivers licence, after which they kept insisting that I have made too many returns at their sister brands and my drivers license wasn't getting accepted. And that since they tried twice already there is no way they were going to do it again. I assured them I don't shop any of the other sister brands. They told me there was nothing they can do without the original receipt. Okay, well it didn't come in the box... what am I supposed to do? So I call my mother, she's of course embarrassed and upset and I get the receipt and it's still a hard time for these two apparently and they're asking me for the banana republic card that was used. Guys... is this a joke? How many times do I need to repeat that I am not the same individual who purchased these items. Why am I being treated like I'm a security risk or as if I had stolen these items at the gap? This isn't a high end boutique, this isn't rocket science. I'm just trying to get the right sizes for my kids. Meanwhile they keep printing this slip of paper with a phone number I need to call sand shoving it at me. They gave me two. Meanline a line is forming behind me and these two are doing all they can just to get me to leave, shoving my returns back at me and repeating that there's nothing they can do. This is when I got really upset. I live upstairs in the apartments at the mall, I could be your loyal customer with 2 kids who are constantly outgrowing sizes. This is not the customer service I am used to with gap. These two were not looking to help me find a solution to a problem I'm sure many many other parents are experiencing this season. I will not be back again. Looks like it will be online shopping for me despite the fact that I live 40 feet away. Very disappointing. It would benefit this store to train their team to be customer focused and solution oriented and not automatically assume we are doing something wrong.
