David and Tony were punctual, professional, and hard-working. They took us step by step through what they were doing or proposed doing. My husband and I were grateful for their honest work. We got the impression that they really liked their job, that they truly wanted to do what was best for the customer, and weren't about to take you for a ride. David and Tony told us that Tingley will soon be adding an HVAC component to their company. I suggested that Tingley consider looking into eco-friendly solutions for not only electricity but HVAC, as there is a huge demand for this right now, and it will be growing. Furthermore, the Baker Administration has just signed a Climate Roadmap Law that will pave the way for this more easily; there may be rebates, tax exemptions, etc for homeowners. I know that there is a NGICP National Green Building and Infrastructure Certification Program available, and homeowners and municipalities alike are looking for licensed practitioners. The two gentleman that showed up to give us a quote were very nice and professional and the only reason I gave a two star . However , after they look at our job to finish wiring in our basement., adding 12 recess lights and adding 5. More plugs , tie existing wiring into Panel and ad two closet lights . which took over an hour to evaluate gave us a quote of 8000 dollars . after the shock of the quote , I actually fine with them wanting to charge an exorbitant amount of money for a one day project because it was up to me to do it or not ithe reason for the two stars ,was for them charging me 336 to spend an hour giving me this ridiculous quote . I had two quotes after which came in at 2300 and 2700 including all materials . I would stay away from this company. I really wanted to love them. I read the reviews and decided to give them a call for a fairly pricey but straightforward project. Tingley was very responsive, easy to work with, and gave me a quote very quickly. I really appreciated that!! Only trouble, we received a few other quotes from electricians in the area who all came in 30-50% lower than Tingley. I know things aren't always apples to apples and Tingley said they include a warranty, but the next lowest price was $1,000 less (and the lowest was $1,700 less)! These were other electricians who I received glowing recos from neighbors and coworkers, so I'm not worried about shoddy workmanship or lacking credentials. Overall, Tingley has great customer service and timely responses. The quote was just so much more than other area electricians I doubt I'll reach out to Tingley for other electrical needs. Today we had the first person into our home during quarantine..... Jason and his assistant from Tingley Electric. I cannot say enough about them. The schedule process was easy and adaptable, we received a text w the technicians photo and bio ahead of arrival. Jason was knowledge, professional and pleasant. Our issue was resolved along with a smaller issue brought up to code ( bonus and well worth the service call fee ). We were kept informed at every step. A small hole was approved by us and patched by them ! Masks were worn, social distance respected. Everything was explained to us, including next steps which don't include an electrician! I have used Tingley Electric twice. Both times they got the job done properly, and completely. They set us up in our office, a few years back with what to me was complex electrical concerns. They communicated well, and did what they said they would. Yesterday, they diagnosed and corrected the concerns we were having with both smoke alarms, and doorbells. These seemingly small things had been a nuisance for my family, and Ryan and his assistant were efficient and accurate. The price quoted was reasonable for the years experience technician and company have . I like the fact that the job is quoted not hours worked.
