Based on this I went with another electrician based in San Leandro whom was "highly recommended." Long story short. This "highly recommended electrician never showed up and wasted 4 weeks of my time so I gave David a call. To my surprise the estimate I received from David was $600 below the other electrician. I called David on a Wednesday and sent him pictures detailing my property and the work I wanted. That very same day he sent back plans detailing the work and how it would look along with an estimated cost. Being aware that David has a very busy schedule I was extremely surprised he was able to fit my in on Friday, 2 days after calling him to start the work. David Zeng was recommended to me by neighbors who had engaged him to install their level 2 EV charger. David responded quickly to my call and was very flexible and accommodating. David arranged to permit the work and then set a time to install the charger. He recommended that I use a hardwired charger as it did not require a special GFCI breaker, and I ordered a Chargepoint Flexport charger. (BTW, it functions quite well) The work was done quickly and cleanly. David was able to install the required 50A breakers on my subpanel. He also secured some wiring work I had previously had done by adding some additional brackets to the wiring. He arranged the appointment with the inspector for the final permit sign-off. One thing to point out is that David seems to have a good amount of projects going, but he communicated extremely well with us and kept all his appointments and did the work promptly. I has a mysterious electrical issue with the lights and outlets in half of my upstairs. The lights would occasionally flicker, then last night would just go out. The circuit breaker wasn't tripped, so was beyond my weekend warrior electrical skills, which aren't much to start with. Called David in the am, he called the same afternoon and said he could be over in 15 mins. He came right over, along with his wife Helen. He started with the panel, which looked OK, then checked the outlets one-by-one. They all seemed to check out OK, so the mystery deepened. He then took out the breaker and closely inspected it. There was a slight evidence of some issues, so he replaced the breaker and all is good. English isn't his first language, but I didn't have any problem communicating with him. And I only speak English (ABC). At every step of the way, he explained what he was doing and his testing process, which I appreciated. Very easy to work with.
