My last review was pulled off of YELP due to a complaint by Tint World that my comments were not specific enough. Okay then, let's do this with specifics. A while back I brought in my new Hyundai Elantra to have my windows tinted. Upon talking to the guy at the counter he convinced me that I'd be better off having them install the Carbon Tint as it was stronger, fade proof and had a much better Warranty. It was a bit pricey so I figured, okay let's go hi-tech and get the good stuff. At that point I was told it would take about 1 1/2 hours which actually turned into 3 1/2 hours. About 2 hours into my wait I decided to get up and look into the shop and view the progress of their work. What I saw was an elderly woman assisting a technician in positioning a piece of the tint material. At this point the guy from the Showroom desk comes alongside me and says that I'll have to leave this area and return to the waiting area, as customers are not allowed in the work area. Okay, no big deal I figured so I return to my seat and wait for the job to be finished. When I set up this tint job with the guy at the Showroom desk I was quite straight forward with my instructions. I told him that I wanted 70% LT at the 2 front door glasses and 20% LT thru-out the rest of the vehicle. Upon taking my vehicle and arriving home I come to realize that my instructions were not followed -- they installed 20% LT on ALL windows and not provided the lighter tint at the front driver and passenger door glass. Then I find that the area around the Rear Windshield Brake light had been trimmed way too large around the housing which I eventually came to find was quite distracting when driving at night as the white light of the headlights behind me would cause vision issues when looking thru the rear view mirror. The truth be told , the day I took the car home and realized their mistake I was quite aggravated, but at the same time I was even more aggravated that I had to wait so long and that the Showroom person was kind of snippy. So here I am with the wrong tint on 2 of my windows and an oversized cut-out around my brake light housing. I had a choice of either going back to Tint World and having a fit and then probably having to sit there for another 3 1/2 hours if they even could fit me in OR have them give me a hard time and make me come back on another day. My Saturday was already blown and I was not up for what could turn into a bad day for them and me. The car looked very nice with the 20% LT all around and I was able to keep it on my car for a year until it came time for an Inspection which of course would fail so I had to remove it anyway. As of the writing of this review, Tint World in Medford has a total of 48 reviews -- 31 have 1 Star & 1 has 2 Stars, not very good batting average. I went there to get a quote for rims for my jeep wrangler they quoted me $1700 and then when I applied for snap finance they signed the agreement themselves so I was locked in to pay $1900 for a set of rims I could've got at any other store for 1200 same rims same lugs same everything when I called to tell them I didn't want the rims they charged me a restock fee after they originally told me the rims were at there warehouse. It's not good business to charge $700 more than any store on Long Island for the same product . read more

I'm NEVER coming back to this place again...I should of learned my lesson the first time when my window ended up with a huge vertical streak after tint job that didn't go away. Faulty led installation and finally poor tail light installation that bubbled and I had to pay for removal. Huge waste of money! ***UPDATE** I'm so disgusted with my findings this previous week that I decided to update the full extent to the incompetence of this business and mention that upon taking out the crap job LED head installation that I paid a lot for at this place, it turns out that that gave me HID kit instead and didn't bother owning up to it and not telling me. DO NOT GET A JEEP OR TRUCK LIFTED HERE!!!!!!! Absolutely the worst job I've ever seen. They did a long arm lift on my Jeep JK and assured me that they knew what they were doing. After the lift was complete I had it towed to an off-road shop in Ronkonkoma to do the 4 wheel alignment. After looking around the owner spotted issue after issue with things that Tint World failed to do. He found missing nuts and bolts, missing crush sleeves, the rear track bar bracket was on backwards, there was a broken inner welded but for the skid plate that now has to be removed and repaired, the bump stops weren't installed correctly, and the list goes on. The job should've only taken 8 hours or a day and a half and this crap work took Tint World 2 weeks!! You'd think after two weeks they would know what the heck they were doing. Tint World is pathetic at suspension work!! Unfortunately I trusted my expensive lift to a shop that had no business doing any suspension work. They charged me $1000 for crap work! After talking to the owner of the off-road shop, he told me the owner of Tint World calls him often to do suspension work on his personal trucks because he doesn't feel comfortable with his own guys doing the work. Fact is, I should've known better. I'm from Utah and I've learned that people from Long Island like to embellish their worth. Many shops promise good work and do shotty work. I finally found a good off-road shop with an owner that cares and understands and is making everything right. Unfortunately using Tint World was an $1100 mistake on my part and I regret ever doing business with them. If you can't do good work don't promise that you can. End Rant. read more

Buyer beware!!! I did not had a great experience at this place, I would not recommend and definitely would not go back. I had my car windows tinted. I spent a total of 8 hours in this place for Windows tinting. On my first trip the installed and took them four hours and they did such a poor job on the installation. There were bubbles everywhere, they told me it was going to take a week for them to dissipate and they didn't. No only there were bubbles but also dirt and lint all over; so I went back for my second time and they fixed it and that was another 4 hours when they should of done it right on the first time. The service is really poor and very overpriced for shitty jobs. They said that they were going to give me a discount on my bill and they process it for the full amount and they submitted a refund and they never did. I did my product research and was told to bring it in "by Tony" and they could install...NO Problem. I brought in ScotchguardPro Clear bra for 1/2 hood application. 1 hour became 1 1/2...I peeked in garage and saw guy finish the install. I asked manager/owner "what's taking so long, I have to work?" Reply: it has to dry we need 1 more hour. Lil later, I see another guy arrive with his kits and he starts wetting the hood! I ask Tony "if it needs to dry why is this guy wetting it? Reply: its a sealant". Apparently "Tony" thinks I'm an idiot. BUSTED...I ask owner/manager after 2 hours to come outside and What"s going on? Reply: The product I brought shrunk and he had to replace with Suntek don't worry now you have a warranty now. REALLY? Then he taps my shoulder? Really? I was never told about the problem until they were caught LYING. I was never shown the shrinkage and the replacement was being done discreetly with another product that I didn't want. The owner/manager apologized but "I" have to tell him about customer service and being honest? Really? I wanted other installs in the future but WITHOUT HONESTY and being secret to product switch, I'll go somewhere else. Too bad, might be nice guys but good businessmen?... not in my opinion. Lastly, the scotchguard pro I brought was reputable. Since, this was a new auto I was hoping you could do it better than I did. This was a second purchase of SG Pro and it fit fine but didn't look so good. That's why I went to you " The Professional" for the second purchase. But no, you didn't. You had a contractor come down immediately when something went wrong and do a nice job. He got the thanks and Yes he is a contractor because I saw his truck in front of me on the road as we were leaving. Should have got his info.... Went there today to get a photo inspection of our car for the insurance company. The girl came out, took the pictures, went back inside and returned shortly after with our receipt. The receipt had the wrong license plate number, said it was an automatic when it's a 6speed manual, said it was an SUV instead of a 4 dr sedan, said it had an automatic antenna, just completely haphazardly done. So we take the paperwork inside and ask for the issues to be corrected. Was told by the owner? that we "have 2 weeks to get it done and that it's really not an issue" Well, we actually have 3 days, but regardless of that, just want it done correctly to avoid any possible problems. He, with an attitude towards us as if it were OUR mistakes, had us fill out the paperwork ourselves and that he'd manually input the info himself. Fast forward 30 mins later, he takes more pictures, inputs the info, gives us a new receipt and guess what? The vin number is wrong!!! Along with a few other minor mistakes, but all in all, it took us an hr to get it wrong twice and given an attitude all along as if asking for the CORRECT info to be provided to the insurance company was too much to ask for. I just wanted it done correctly. If they are this careless about a detailed photo inspection, I'd be damn afraid to trust them with anything else let alone tint or wrap or anything requiring more than minimal effort and care. Although, how much effort does it take to transfer info from a piece of paper into a computer? Avoid this place at all costs unless you're willing to sacrifice quality and risk the safety of your vehicle in the hands of carelessness. Don't buy a groupon from this place. I called and spoke at length with one of the store managers about pricing of a remote starter for my wife. When the installation took place we needs to purchase an additional part for another $100 and then had $40 of "shop fees" added to our bill. Not surprisingly, that added up to the price of the install without any groupon deal. My wife was told the wait would be one hour, it was two and a half and the person behind the counter was rude to her. The store is gross. One of our two remote starters only works from about 10 feet away. I called and spoke to an employee about the trouble, and he told me they never have complaints about their service. I then read him other Yelp reviews from dissatisfied customers. He responded by telling me that just because people go online to complain about a store doesn't mean the complaints are true. I think it's pretty unlikely that so many people on groupon are writing fake reviews about this place. All the bad things you've read are true. Avoid this store. read more

This place should not even be considered a business. This is my second review just so every one knows they will try to steal your money. They are unskilled mechanics who don't know what they're doing. They put my life in harms way and then we're unable to fix a problem they caused on my car. I paid $415 for tire sensors and they were unable to get them working properly they had my car for 16 hours in total "trying" to fix it. They sent me home with them still not working and made an appointment for later in the week to fix it. The night before my appointment I get a phone call saying "we are not fixing them and not refunding you your money back for them" then hung up the phone on me before I could even respond and wouldn't answer my phone calls. I then had to call my bank and dispute the charge where I was told how ridiculous that was from a business. I will now be contacting the better business Bureau to file a complaint with them and let them know the people who own and work for this business are unskilled crooks just out to steal people's money. read more

I was leaning in a direction until i decided to go into Tint World & speak to Kurt. So I bought a car on Ebay site unseen. After my shipper picked it up he brought it to a facility to transfer to another truck to deliver to me in California. The next day the Chevelle 's electrical system had a meltdown and the car wouldn't start.. Being from Cali and not knowing anyone on the east coast I Yelped it :) Found Tint works sent the car there and they handled everything for me. I also had them do a stereo system and tint while it was there. Got my car shipped directly from there and it looks flawless !! Definitely recommend them to anyone read more

Bad! Bad! I brought a set of expensive Michelen tires from Tint World. No paperwork, no warranty, no receipt was provided. When I picked up a screw in one tire and brought it back to them for repair I was told the tire couldn't be fixed and I had to buy a new tire. They had no record I had even paid for the tires (My credit card company disagrees). Needless to say I was not buying another tire from them. I financed a car from Ez auto and tint world does repairs for them I've had to take my car in for repairs numerous times and each time was worse then last there customer service is horrible they refuse to call you back with any updates or if your car is ready to be picked up just 2 weeks ago I took my car in for repairs they had my car for 3 days and didn't touch it the jerk off that was there at the time told me they just didn't get around to checking the car and lied and told me they were waiting for parts and would call me Monday needless to say I never got a call that's the worst repair shop I ever had to deal with the only good experience I had was meeting Kurt...bottom line there horrible!! read more

So I bought a new truck at the dealership and had them send it to Kurt at tint world in Medford.It was there for a week. Dealership said I can pick up my new truck the next day I was excited. Now Kurt has sent me pictures which look great BUT WHEN I GOT THE TRUCK ,THE TINT ON THE HEAD LIGHTS WAS COMING OFF. The blue stripe on the rims where no where near even and to top it off there was scuff marks underneath the powder coating. Then It got worse the double racing lines were not evenly spaced and they overlap the wrap on the top of the truck thinking I wasn't going to see it. I bought it to Kurt's attention and he said don't worry I'll fix it. I said ok I gave him a list of the things that where wrong and showed him. A week goes by and they say my truck is ready. I was super excited to see the correct work done. Now let me remind u I had paid for the work before it was done so that the dealership can take back the truck from tint world. As well I had already spent over 5500 for work done to my wife's truck and had previously bout rims for my other car for 1300. SO when I go to look at my truck the first thing I see is the headlight is not fixed. Ok maybe he forgot which Kurt admitted he overlooked it bc he was worried about the double stripes. Which was the 2nd thing I looked at which was perfect. Now I went to the rims and MAN I WAS BEYOND PISSED OFF. The had my truck for a week and Kurt said they redid the rims which I told him no they didn't bc the scuff marks where still there and the dirt and mark I made on the rims intentionally where still there, which told me that the rims where not done. As well the line still look like shit.kurt say o no there was a worse scuff on it then that. In my head I was like yes there was bc I showed u the scuffs on multiple rims.kurt said when he ask his guy what happened he said I was in a rush bc the dealership was coming to pick up the truck.I paid the same price for a strip on the rims as it would cost to do the whole rim and I get that garbage. Kurt tells me my guys are not going to redo it bc cost of martial. I dropped 3000 for this work and it took 2 tries and 1 out 3 problems Is fix. I'm not rich but if I pay for something that is supposed to be done right weather it's hand painted of machine .I expect the job to be done the first time.I's not my problem your guys couldn't get the job done the right way the 1st time. now I have to spend money to take the vehicle somewhere else or go to small claims court to fight this. NOW THIS IS NO WAY AIM AT KURT BC HES A GREAT GUY AND OFFER ME TO BRING MY CAR BACK TO FIX THE HEADLIGHT and even gave me discount bc I spent alit if money with them.BUT THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THE RIMS AND I WASNT GOING to sit there and argue with him. So I left and came to the conclusion that I might just have to wait and shop around for a new place that's closer to me to get the work done right.So I'll leave it up to whoever looks at this to either contact me bc either there going to do right by it or I'm going to small claim court to get my money back and pay someone else to do the rims the right way. read more

Just had the rims updated on our '07 GMC Yukon Denali. Starting with Kevin, he was more than happy to go through the catalogs with us and find the perfect rim. Even brought it up on the computer on how the truck would look with them on. Dropped the truck off this morning and it was done a few hours later, just as Tony said it would be. Tony and Kurt were very enthusiastic when we picked it up and explained in detail what was done. Couldn't have asked for a better experience from the time we walked in the door to the final paperwork. We greatly appreciate the warmth, kindness and professionalism that was provided by all staff members that we encountered. We will not hesitate to go back to Tint World in Medford for future work. First time taking my car here and the best thing about this place is the professionalism you get from the employees from when you enter to when you leave. Took my car to get a remote starter bought and installed here. Took about 3 hours but I was told beforehand the previous day but they do have a customer lounge area with free coffee and clean restroom. After installation was done I had a quick rundown with the guy who installed it(sorry I forgot his name but he was great) and 2 days later it's still working great. The only minor gripe I have is with the actual product itself concerning documentation because you only get a basic quick start card but for advanced menu options nothing is listed so I had to google search the product to get a more thorough rundown for the product. However Kurt (the manager of the shop) did tell me any questions I have or problems to call them but it wasn't too much a problem for me to get more info. Planning to later on bring my car back to get my tints redone at a later date and from what I've experienced so far I'd recommend them read more

WORST RIPOFFS EVER!! Scam artists and liars. Most of the staff seemed pretty decent, except the one older guy who just did repairs on my car FOR OVER $700 without my approval, after only getting my authorization for one SMALL repair that was promised and sworn to me that wouldn't cost over $80 and then proceeded to tell me I can sign up for a "loan" through their affiliates progressive leasing, who are even BIGGER scam artists. Overall ended up paying well over $1000 in unauthorized repairs that this creep claimed I NEEDED, interest, and the loan (which doubles by the way) for the small repair I initially brought my car in for. Never again. Shame on you people. I'll be sure to pass my experience on to everyone I know! read more

STAY FAR AWAY from Tint World in Medford. I had their premium window tint installed on my Lexus in December 2017. The tint came with a "lifetime warranty" and a $500 price tag. As I was waiting for my car to be finished and while sitting in the waiting room, I was listening to two very angry customers that were complaining about Tint World's failure to correct problems with auto starters and other repair work. One customer had been there for over eight hours and was screaming at Kurt as he told her that her car wouldn't be ready until the next day .... she was so loud and angry but stood her ground; she wasn't coming back and wouldn't leave until her car was repaired immediately. When my car was finished Kurt gave me my key and I drove away everything looked good except for my rear windshield. The headlights from every car behind reflected with extreme glare in my rearview mirror and made driving difficult. I was going to return to Tint World immediately but they were closing when I left. I called Kurt the next morning regarding the problem and he told me to wait 2-3 weeks for the tint to completely dry and if the problem persisted he would personally make sure it was corrected to my complete satisfaction. The problem never corrected and when I returned to Tint World 3 weeks later, Kurt looked at the rear windshield and said his tint job was perfect my car windshield was the problem, the angle was too sharp and was causing the reflection problem. He said he had seen this problem before. I asked him to replace and/or remove the tint film and he refused. If my car was the problem why didn't he tell me that before he applied the tint and I guess all Lexus vehicles have the same issue with window tint.He had no answer. Kurt became agitate and in a powerful voice claimed he was trying to work with me; I drove away since he offered NO solution for the problem. I had the window film replaced by another tint installer and it has no problem. I should have read these reviews before I went to Tint World in Medford. Do yourself and STAY AWAY! Thieves! I purchased the drone auto start system for my car in January. First, they neglected to tell me that there is separate monthly or yearly payment for the system. I pain 50% that day and used SNAP finance for the rest. At the time, I was told that my first 6 months of payments are interest free. Know that the end total I would be financing was only about $278, I agreed because I would have made my last payment in July, 2 months before the interest free period ends. Today, after continuing to see the payments come out of bank account I called SNAP to find out that there is only a 100 day no interest period. After recalculating, at the end of the 100 days I only had a balance of about $52. Now, here I am already having paid about $103 on $52, and I still have another $185 left to pay. When all said and done, I would have paid $784 on a $527 system, and $257 on the $52 remaining balance I had at then end of the no interest period. Tint World fails to disclose accurate information and it is expensive. What a joke. They will never get my business, or the business of my family and friends. read more

So, I call up to ask for a price quote to have my wheels balanced and installed because I was removing my custom wheels and putting the factory wheels back on. Spoke to Kirk. He gives me a quote of $39.99, which is the average price for the job. So I have them do it. It takes an hour and a half before they even touch my suv. Then another hour to complete the job. When I go to the register to pay. He tells me it's $171 dollars! I asked why? He tells me it's $39.99 per wheel!!! Plus tax.. Which is totally unheard of! SMH! I just pay the guy and walk out. I went here because I got good deal on a groupon and was a little wary because of online reviews. The truth couldn't be any farther from how my experience was. They took me same day with little notice and gave me a detailed run through of everything they were going to do, showed me all the options available for my car and were even able to put a remote starter for my jeep same day with two programmed key fobs all while being a real fun bunch of guys. I took my car here a second time for a bumper repaint. The price was reasonable and I trusted them to do as well a job as a body shop. First I was told the car would be done by the end of the next day, I called then and they said it wouldn't be done till the next morning, called again that afternoon and then they said it wouldn't be done till the end of the day because they had to sand and polish it. When I get the car back the paint was rough and covered in "orange peel" and there were even a few dried paint drips! They did not sand it after painting like they said they would. My bumper looks like it was spray painted in someone's backyard. Absolutely terrible work by Tint World. I'm sure they do window tinting well but the bodywork done on my car for example was absolutely unacceptable. I can't believe they let work that bad leave their shop. Horrible service. Do not go to. I came in at 9am for an inspection it is now 12pm and they told me that their machine is broken that they have to bring it down the road to their friend. I told them I had to get to class and instead of telling me at 9am that their machine is broken they tell me at 12pm, 3 hours later. Over priced as well. read more

Went there for an inspection on my silverado. I was told the tint would have to come off because it wasnt legal and wouldnt pass nys inspection. This is the same place that sold and installed the tint on my silverado in october 2017 now we are in jan 2018. He wanted to charge me to remkve it but if i got my front brakes replaced he wouldnt. But he sold me the tint 3 mobths prior. So i am out $150. Horrible horrible. How are they allowed to do this read more

Wish I could give zero stars.This place is horrible! From the salesmen, to the manager, Kurt, to the installers, who have no idea what they are doing. I had lights installed in my car TWO YEARS AGO and just had my 3rd issue with them burning out. Why? Because these morons put in two different lights, both of which are not to be installed in a closed headlight housing unit (which my car is) so they kept burning out. What's worse? They cut holes into the housing units to fit the wrong LED lights in there which were held together with electrical tape. Every time I went in, they pretended like they had no idea what I was talking about, and could never find me in the system because they "updated" their computer. I took my car to Jazz Audio, where the professionals fixed the problem and installed the correct lights and proper installation. I will NEVER use Tint World. Bad business! read more

Unprofessional service: 6 months waiting on a car to have customized doors. Claims the parts were defective twice that they ordered but never contacted us about it. When calling they put you on hold for an hour. Incurring fees while they still have the car... I would not recommend business here. At first when I came to the store in patchogue I was very impressed with the beginning service! They help me find the right rims and tires I wanted! After purchase was made it was all down hill from there,I was told the rims would arrive a day later and the tires a few days after! I call a week later and am told to bring in my truck the following morning for installation. I arrived at 8 am as instructed and was then told the rims haven't arrived as of yet and would be here in a hour( this at 8 am) so I decided to go back home rather than wait! So I call at 10 and was told they haven't arrived and they would check with driver and call me back! An hour and a half later no call back, so I'll called and was told they would be arriving at 12! I come at 12 and they tell me the driver is minutes down the road, now it's 115 , still my truck sits in parking lot untouched and the best response I get is I'm sorry! Missed whole day of work and and a whole day wasted! Wtf is going on!! So disappointed in after service of purchase!! Whatever you do don't deal with Kevin!!!
