Excellent service | Friendly | Amazing hair color by Grismey…read more Grismey is a very experienced and professional hair stylist! I told her I wanted a natural brown highlight that maintained my previous color and she made me feel so beautiful by the time we were done! I don't know how she did it, but she blended my brown highlight into my natural dark black hair to compliment my skin tone perfectly. It wasn't brassy, not reddish, it is this perfect shade that looks natural and still beautiful when it grows out. I also enjoyed talking to her throughout our session! The whole process, from booking to styling my hair, was perfect. I feel so confident going to see her now for any of my hair needs. Thank you, Grismey!! *Shelby moved so I was referred to Grismey. I'm so happy she is my hair stylist :)

He immediately and excitedly said Britt was THE girl. His enthusiasm made me feel confident in her skills. I was exited and text her for an appointment. She asked me for pics of my hair and inspo pics. I sent my hair now and older cuts had. Also a few inspo/goal pics. Then I text her to confirm the appointment and checked to make sure she felt comfortable with short blended styles. (not a lot of stylists do these days) and then she said that because she's never cut my hair that she couldn't get it "perfect", and immediately cancelled my appointment without another word. It was very strange and rude. I never said she had to cut it "perfect". I said the inspo pic was perfect. So odd. Anyway, guess I dodged a bullet.

I spent weeks researching someone in the Portland metro area who could take on lifting my natural…read morelevel 2/3, box dyed hair to a level 6 rich brunette without hesitation, and found Micha. Reading her reviews got me excited, and during our consultation, she explained her enzyme-based lifting process that avoids bleach and keeps hair health intact. She took the time to deeply analyze my hair, and set aside extra time during the appointment to adjust as she went since she was undoing months of box color and old faded highlights. Micha gave me a beautiful, lived-in, blended cinnamon chocolate balayage specifically designed to grow out naturally so I wouldn't need touch-ups every few months. She also did a dry cut using unique techniques I loved. In terms of final styling, I love a full bouncy, smooth blowout with a round brush, and am particular about the technique (needs to be sectioned out fully with each section pulled with a lot of heat and tension), so I did end up restyling it at home to my own liking, but that's just me. What she created with my color and cut though was exactly what I wanted. Beyond her skill, Micha is a true creative, full of spunk and confidence with the wildest stories. If you need things done a very specific way and aren't open to a creative approach, she may not be your person. But she knows exactly what she's doing, and you just need to let her do her thing. You're getting a thoughtful perfectionist who will make you feel completely new again!

When I first visited her, she was the only stylist who could flawlessly create an asymmetrical bob for me before I moved away in 2017. Fast forward to 2025, and I returned to her for help correcting mistakes from previous stylists. Corey has been a lifesaver! Her honesty is refreshing; she will tell you if your vision won't work and suggest alternatives that actually look great. Not only is she a master at cutting, but she's also an exceptional colorist. She did my hair color for my wedding, and I trusted her completely--especially since it was just a day before the big day! Corey uses top-notch products and has an expert understanding of how they interact with my hair. My mother does not like change so she has always had Bettina give her the same cut and color: a short bob with jet black hair. This time, my mother decided that she wanted something different. After much deliberation and with Bettina's guidance, they settled on a beautiful chocolate cherry brown and a fun short haircut. My mother was nervous but, as usual, Bettina was able to make her feel relaxed and confident that this change would turn out wonderful. Bettina has a calm and sweet demeanor and the ability to make even the most nervous person, such as my mother, feel confident and calm. She listens to her clients and sets their minds at ease while giving them what they need to feel their most beautiful. Both my mother and I will go to no one else but Bettina.

Looks like they took over from a different salon that used to be here. (It's next to UPS in the Hmart shopping center). The whole process was no fuss. Wash / shampoo / cut. Rosie asked a few questions on what I was trying to accomplish and asked if I had photos (I didn't). I gave her very vague direction as I didn't know how to fix what had been done to my hair. End result - she did way better than expected. She got rid of the drastic layers - blended everything really well. I have a bit of volume and a cut that is flattering on my big ol dome. Super stoked as she was my 3rd try in fixing this hot mess. The best part - I don't know how she did it - but I was in and out in 20 minutes.

I was looking to have my hair washed, blow-dried and styled for a wedding I was attending and was…read moreapprehensive about booking an appointment with a newer salon with limited reviews. But, after being promised that they could handle my requests (I have 3C/4A curly hair) via Yelp message, I gave them a call to schedule an appointment and specified what services I was looking for. After showing a specific picture of the style that I was going for, I left my appointment frustrated with only 50% of the work completed. In the beginning, when I walked in, I introduced myself and stated that I had an appointment. The Stylist, Rosie, didn't introduce herself or even say "Good afternoon" to me (I discovered her name on her state license hanging next to her station). She asked what I wanted done (I reiterated what I had stated while making my appointment), sat me down in an awkward chair to wash my hair. I wasn't given a smock and water was hitting me like crazy while she was shampooing my hair but she didn't seem to notice. After she was done, she put a smock on me (to little to late to protect against water) and sat me down in another chair to begin to blow dry. I asked if I could show her a picture of what I was looking for and she said yes. After clarifying that I wanted it to be straightened and then loose curls added in, she began to blow dry. There was little/to no AC in this place and on a warm, humid day, I began to sweat from the heat of the blow-drier. It would be helpful in the future to keep the place a bit cooler to not roast those having their hair dried. When she finished drying my hair, my hair was a right frizzy mess (it always is at this stage, which is where the straightening iron comes to play) and she took it out. Well, she only straightening my roots, no other parts of my frizzy hair. After that, she asked if I wanted it styled, and I reiterated again that "yes, I do want it styled" and she went around looking for the right tools. After a brief moment, she came back and picked up the curlier and began to curly my frizzy, messy hair. The tips looked horrible (as nothing had been done to soothe them down). She stated that she didn't have any bobby pins or clips and would need to go to Bi-Mart to buy some so I would have to wait. I told her it was fine and I would fix my hair at home. Before she was done, I asked her to please fix the tips as they didn't look for very nice. She scoffed and said "You need a hair cut". As someone who can only go to a specific hair stylist for a cut (given my very curly hair) and coming out of a pandemic, you would think that a hair stylist would be emphatic to people's hair being in varying states but apparently she was expecting more. I sat there in silence while she went back and redid some tips and sprayed a minimal, minimal amount of hair spray (which obviously wasn't going to do anything). I paid and promptly headed home to iron and curly my own hair prior to the wedding. The only reason I am giving this place 2/5 stars is because she saved me the effort of washing and blow-drying my hair and because she only charged me $35 (priced was advertised as $65). In my opinion, you should not advertise that a salon does hair styling if you do not in fact do complete hair styling. I was very upfront and honest when I was connecting about my requests and was told that it could be done. This salon does NOT do hair styling and I will NOT be returning.
