I was moving out of my top floor apartment with the support of my wonderful family while my downstairs neighbor hired Tiny Tim to assist with his unit. About halfway through our move, we heard some intense yelling followed by a slew of curses and threats. I was en route from loading my truck and witnessed the older staff member of Tiny Tim assault his younger co-worker by shoving him violently against the stairs and grabbing his throat, wringing his neck while screaming, "You wanna call me an idiot again? Say it one more time, a**hole. CALL ME AN IDIOT AGAIN." It was awful, I'm sure they were having a difficult time, it's hard work, but the younger employee was both embarrassed and deeply affected throughout the rest of that awful load-out. He apologized to us for having to witness that, and I told him that he shouldn't be working with a violent abuser. I really don't feel right about what went down there, that poor dude looked like he could've started crying if he hadn't stuffed his personal feelings down so quickly, no one should be treated that way while doing one of the most physically demanding jobs you can be paid for around here. Terrible service. Scheduled time for pick up of small load to be transported to storage space. They were 2.5 hours late due to not putting work order on daily schedule. Remainder of payment charged on CC without giving verbal approval. Movers were ok not great. read more

These folks are INCREDIBLE! I called on a Friday, and they were on my doorstep first thing the following Monday morning. The two men were friendly, professional, quick and so so helpful. Horrible horrible horrible!!! These two men were so unprofessional swearing complaining the whole move. They were dillydallying for eight hours for a move that would've taken me before. They did not wear a mask the whole entire time due to COVID-19 guidelines they are required by law. I called the manager to complain and she was yelling at me on the phone calling me a liar. The pro was that I called to request a quote and make a reservation and they were able to schedule our move at the end of the month within three weeks whereas other companies were fully booked. We were told that to move out of a third-floor apartment we should have three movers, so we scheduled three movers and a truck to arrive shortly after 9 AM. The cons were everything else: I called a few minutes after 9 AM to confirm that the movers were on their way and was told that the truck wouldn't start and the mechanic was on his way. Shortly before 10, the movers called to say they were there; since the other one wasn't fixed, they had brought a bigger truck (which would obviously require more time--and more of the hourly rate that *we* would be paying--to make sure was packed properly so that our things wouldn't break). After about 45 minutes, I had a voicemail from the manager saying that her movers had called her to say that we "had a lot of stuff" and that she was recommending an extra mover (for 30 dollars more per hour and he would arrive after 12 after he finished his morning job) and an extra truck. To be clear, we were moving out of an 800 sq ft apartment and had already moved things like TVs, food, clothes that weren't packed in suitcases, etc. on our own. The problem, as I told the lady, was not our amount of stuff but rather that the movers were moving incredibly slowly and inefficiently (it seemed they had never heard of a third-floor apartment building in Portland and couldn't for the life of them figure out how to take things out of it) and arguing with each other. One of the guys complained to me about working with certain people and the other said to my partner that if he had been with the "A team," they would have already been finished loading. Which is to say that, by their own admission, they were inefficient. I thought, "well, at least this means they're moving slowly and not breaking things." But when we unpacked our kitchen stuff we found a box of glasses *wrapped in thick styrofoam* that were broken because the box had clearly been dropped. I've hired movers several times in the past and never experienced anything like this. read more

I used Tiny Tim's for moving recently from one 2nd story apartment to another 2nd story apartment. Kevin and Chip did an awesome job. With all the old building architecture in Portland, they were pretty impressive manipulating all the big furniture through the tiny hallways. They were very quick. Price was very reasonable, if not one of the lower. Another great thing is that over and above the 2 hour minimum, they will only charge you by the 15 minute increments they go over. We used Tiny Tim's for a move this past weekend. Movers were good people and were helpful. However - two things: - they broke a lamp. Not a big deal. However, the mover told me that I should call the office to get reimbursed. I tried to do so and he said that they would not reimburse me. Apparently, this is their policy. However, this should have been stated beforehand and the mover should NOT have told me to call to get reimbursed. - when they gave us the final bill when they left our new home, they tried to charge for an extra 30+ minutes of time. Again, not a big deal after we reminded them that they were late arriving at the house. I had a good experience with the movers themselves but was disappointed in how the owner treated me when I called after our move. He also told me that I was difficult and rude on the phone when I called the morning of our move (hey, reminder...I just paid you $500!) - I called because they were 20 minutes late with no phone call as to indicate this would be the case and I honestly was fine with it and not rude, I just wanted to make sure they hadn't forgotten us! read more

I was able to schedule them fairly last minute. They moved everything from my old place to my new place. That's really all I have for positives. They showed up late. They didn't have the necessary tools to disassemble my bed (an Allan wrench) and the one I had was already buried in the moving truck. So I had to go out and buy one for them out of my own pocket. The move as a whole took much longer than my previous move with Local Muscle (same amount of stuff, floors, and distance). They complained almost the whole time. They broke a metal locker which cannot be fixed without a welder. They damaged a vintage wardrobe, a floor lamp, a sculpture, a couch, and scratched the hardwood floors significantly. I would not hire them again nor recommend them to others. read more

I used Tiny Tim's to move some of my furniture to Standish this past Friday. Dave and Terry arrived and what a professional, fun, warm and friendly pair of guys! They took great care with my possessions and even took a couple of last minute pieces that I had planned to move myself but they were happy to just do it for me. They made what would have been an irritating ordeal into a really enjoyable couple of hours. Just the nicest experience and they did everything quickly as well as just the way I wanted it. A wicked small price to pay for moving, period, but even more so since I had such nice people to help me.
