I went to a conference hosted here. The event space was nice and the bathrooms were clean. The lunch was kinda lame, but I'm gonna bet that was a specific choice made by the event organizers. There's a water slide? And a terrible "arcade." I don't need either of those things. The hotel room was nice. Clean and cared for. They only do room cleanup if requested, which was fine for a two night stay. Reasonably priced with fridge. Buffet was reasonably priced for both dinner and breakfast. Hotel room came with discount at the buffet actually so breakfast was 10 bucks for two people. Insane. The food tasted better than it looked. We had a little fun in the casino and I won some money. Wooot! Hubbo hated that there was only one entrance into the property because he imagines there must be traffic when it's busy. But, we're not gonna borrow frustration. read more

We had an outstanding all-around experience at Tioga Downs for our company Christmas party, so much so that we chose their venue again for our 2nd Quarter corporate meeting -- and once again, they exceeded our expectations! My wife and I have stayed at Tioga Downs Casino many times, living just 25 miles away. The Hotel 1st. Front desk staff are very friendly and professional. I've often ordered a cheese and fruit platter for the room and it was great as they put the platter in our fridge. The rooms are always fresh, well cleaned and well stocked. Once, we did an early arrival and had to wait 10 minutes while the Housekeeping Supervisor inspected the room to ensure it was ready. (we appreciated that!) The beds are firm and comfortable. The walk-in shower with body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers is a plus as you can leave all that at home. 2nd, The Casino offers a wide variety of slots and table games (we prefer slots). Drinks are not free, but they constantly come around for orders. Bottled water is free. 3rd, depending on the day of the week, there is a variety of food choices. Bar-type, buffet, Asian and higher-end is offered. Check their website for details. The Hotel has parking and there is a parking garage next to the Casino. Everything is connected so you can stay inside if the weather is bad. Our go-to when we need a short break. read more

I use to go to Tioga Downs Casino every Monday and I really really Loved it. I knew The entire Staff at Tioga Downs Casino and Hotel and I was impressed with their hard working Staff. The Staff at Tioga Downs Hotel and Casino has always been excellent and exceptional. However The New Hotel Director Amber Macintosh Destroyed it for me. I have been coming here for over 8 Years. I spent alot of money and I became VIP for the last 8 Years. I loved the perks I recieved free food coupons, Free Rooms, got invited to all the drawings and all the Events. I would have my Host Sammantha Walker make my Reservations for all Mondays a Month ahead of time. I loved it since Mondays were my day off and I looked forward to staying at The Hotel and playing at the Casino. I would get VIP Room upgrades and I would do early check ins and I loved late check outs. So I had a Medical emergency and had to cancel my reservations twice. However I gave a 24 hour cancel notice. Then all of a sudden my Host Samantha Walker tells me she can no longer help me make my reservations. So I was very upset and contacted Amber MacIntosh Reginal director for Hotel. So she rudely tells me I am no longer allowed to make my full month of Reservations. I will have to call on the day I plan on coming from now on. So now she lives my life for me and tells me when I am allowed to come. The entire situation has me so upset. Why should I spend alot of money to be VIP and be treated like this. I was a very Loyal Customer and I spoke so highly to everyone about Tioga Downs and I referred alot of people. I know everyone at the Hotel and at The Casino. I looked forward to spending my day off and I didn't even mind losing the money. Because I loved going there and I really liked the entire staff. Until Amber Macintosh made my experience so upsetting. So now I don't go to the Motel so I lose my free rooms, I lose my Free play. I have come a couple times after this situation and it's not the same anymore. I don't even enjoy it anymore. This Hotel Director destroyed it for me. I have always been a Loyal dedicated member and it seems like no one cares. So it's not worth spending a lot of money to be VIP because they don't care about you. Your a Nobody to them, your just a number. I now go to Resort World Casino in The Catskills and I love it there, they treat me great, everyone is so friendly. My host goes far and beyond helping me with all the Events available, Free Rooms, Free Play and Food vouchers. The Resort World Hotel has nicer rooms, better accommodations, bigger Rooms, nicer views. Resort World is a fancier upscale Hotel comparable to Tioga Downs Hotel. Resort World Casino offers me 2 free rooms a week for being a VIP Member. Tioga Downs Casino only offers me 1 free room a week for being a VIP Member. I win everytime I go to Resort World Catskills Casino. I am also VIP at Resort Wolrld Casino and you are treated like a person and they make sure your happy. It's really a shame that 1 person Amber Macintosh literally destroyed my peace of mind and took away my relaxation. I use to highly recommend Tioga Downs Casino but after my terrible experience there I would tell you to save yourself the time and Money and go to a different Casino. I highly recommend Resort World Casino in the Catskills. Don't bother becoming VIP at Tioga Downs Casino because they will end up treating you terrible and they will put you down. I have been a VIP Member for over 8 years at Tioga Downs Casino and my name has never been called for any of their drawings, and I have plenty of entries. It seems like the same regulars get called at all the drawings. I believe their drawings are fixed. I also notice that everyone who plays the lowest Bets wins The Jackpots. This review is for the casino only. Went with my boyfriend and his family on a Saturday afternoon. It was crowded but not overly crowded. There's slots, table games, high bet rooms, horse racing , etc. we gambled a bit and won a bit. We all had a good time. Drinks were also cheap and strong! This was my first time to the area and the casino - and driving up this way there's not much around before the casino just kind of appears. Not a problem for me, but if you are looking for a food option other than what is in the casino, you may be out of luck. I didn't wander around. There are several options for food - coasters sports bar, buffet, nice steakhouse, and a Dunkin right next to the casino entrance. We hit all of these - the buffet for breakfast which was good, PJ Clark's for the steak, and coasters twice for food and lunch. For me I hit Dunkin as well for a matcha latte one night. Overall, I liked this place, the rooms had some wear - paint chipping here and there but the common areas were clean and kept up properly. As for the casino - it's not the biggest but gets the job done - and several of us were very lucky in our betting. Dealers were nice, I had no issue there. Would return. Tried to call to buy a giftcard to surprise my Mom for her check-in and was told there was no voucher or giftcard I could pay for over the phone. Was a nice little casino to spend an afternoon in. We got the Sunday brunch at the buffet which had a great view over the horse track and tvs to keep up on the races at every table. We mainly stick to machines when we go to the casino. I don't think there is enough to do at this casino that would warrant us staying here. read more

My friends took me on a surprise trip as a belated birthday gift, we spent the night here. Really nice rooms, the place is spotless. We went for a swim at night before they closed the pool, which is somewhat heated. It was a great evening. Most casinos give free drinks for those that gamble at their location, but not at this casino. One restaurant only to eat at -PJ Clark's which is over priced and food doesn't live up to name or cost. They have a buffet on Thursdays at their other no name place to eat but so many locals go- the line takes hours to get in. My wife and I had stayed at Tioga Downs Casino 5 times and the rooms are clean and have plenty of room. We live in Las Vegas but have a home in upstate NY. This casino is not Las Vegas but it does offer plenty of options. I haven't tried the buffet, but we rarely eat buffets in Las Vegas so no opinion. We did play video poker and actually won... If your looking for a nice place to stay and play a little, this place is great for that. I did like the BBQ restaurant (Virgil's) but I think it is no longer there. read more

This casino was very lively and had an exciting horse race track as well! The horse racing bets were pretty straightforward and easy to understand once you get the hang of it. The races all happened pretty quickly and there was little down time between them, so you weren't sitting around waiting for a long time. The bar here was soooo cheap and I got rail drinks for under $4. Coming from DC I was shocked and amazed at these prices. The drinks were well mixed and they weren't too light on the alcohol even though the drinks were super cheap. The casino had great people working the tables and they were all lively and had great personalities. One table dealer in particular Lyman had a huge crowd at this table and was very helpful with explaining rules as we all played. Went to Tioga Downs for Fathers Day with the whole family. It's a beautiful facility and it was a gorgeous day. Everyone had a great time. This was the 3rd time we went on a Fathers Day. They had great food and drink specials. My only complaint were the long lines to get concessions and drinks. They never seem to have enough people working there. The kids won some free ice cream tickets but got discouraged waiting in line for over 30 minutes so we left and got ice cream on the way home. Please:,if you're going to try to get people there for special events: have enough staff working! The people working at the concessions were doing their best but they needed help! read more

Possibly the worst casino hotel experience I have had in this state. -5* the casino race track was okay. Limited high limit slots and tables. The dealers were excellent I must say. Eric was on point and well in control of the game. Cocktail servers were about average, attentive when they were around. Here is the issue. I am from out of town staying owego (maybe 15 minutes away). Being a Saturday night I thought it smart to get a ride from a colleague as I was planning on having cocktails and enjoying myself. With an average bet between $100-$500 I asked to talk to a floor manager/pit boss about getting a room. I was told the hotel was sold out. Around 230 tables began to close so I inquired about possible a cab service ir shuttle from the casino because apparently Uber doesn't exist in this town. The management had zero solutions other than telling me it wasn't their responsibility. Less than accommodating to say the least. I will not be back and I suggest you don't either. read more

It's a boring crappy drive from NYC to Jamestown NY. I wanted to use the rest room, walk around, and get all jazzed up from the lights and sounds of the slot machines to make the rest of the drive more bearable on a meh gray day. Staff was okay and the lay out was okay. I played a little bit of the slots and wandered around. I forget I have purple and black streaks in my hair until I'm at a place like this and everyone is staring at me. The rest room were clean and the slot machines were kept nicely cleaned off and all. I spent $40 and didn't win or lose much I just kind of stayed around $40. I cashed out just a few bucks ahead. Nothing to write home about, no thrilling story to tell...I guess it's better than losing $40. I recommend it as a quick recharging station or something to do if you're board. This is the only casino I have seen anywhere that they make 20 or 21 out of a "bust" card hand after hand after hand (statistically impossible) on every table. It was a very nice hotel and casino. Small but very nice. I passed it going to visit a College for my daughter and we decided to go in. We went for the all you can eat buffet. It wasn't 5 star but it certainly wasn't bad. They sat us on a table facing the race track. The wait service was great refilling our water's, soda. Clearing of plates and the food choices were good. The views were stunning as we arrived right before sunset. Before we left to make our journey back to NYC, I stopped in for a quick few rounds of Roulette. The staff and table games were both friendly and comfortable. The Casino was lively with lots of people but I didn't wait long to get on a table. I'm not sure what's going on in New York State, but many of the OTB places have shut down!. So ahead of the Kentucky derby this year while traveling through New York we stopped in here to place our bets on the race. Then on the way back, since we had picked some winners, we stopped in again to cash in our winnings. Both trips were quite nice, they have their own harness-racing track outside and the grounds are beautiful. (if you've never seen harness racing in person you really should check it out.... it's quite a joy to see those horses with their riders and carriages!). The interior of this place is much bigger than you think, with many rooms of slot machines and class-one gaming too, with craps and cards and the rest of it. We ate at the bar and the food was not great, and the service was not great either quite frankly. There is another bigger/sit down restaurant in the place but it was too early for us to eat there so I can't comment on that. But the rest of the experience was very enjoyable: the bartender at the other bar was very friendly and everything is clean and feels new. And, they don't allow smoking so it doesn't have that disgusting smoky smell like many casinos do. So we played a few slot machines while there the second time. Even though this is only one isolated experience, the slots felt pretty loose to us :-) we walked out of there with money and they have an entire wall covered with pictures of people who have won jackpots. So overall a pleasant little spot in the southern tier of New York certainly worth a few hour's visit, especially if you can manage to catch some of the live harness racing. read more

Out of the way venue for this city gal to catch a show, but they book a few interesting acts during the summer months worth the stop if you're planning to be in the area. Sometimes they contract for a super large outdoor stage, which makes for decent showcase for the bands. A lot of pretty nature in the surrounding neighborhood, but if what your looking for is risk at the toss of the dice or to rock out with your hawk out, might as well be here in comfortable surroundings. I had a visit to Tioga Downs Resort and Casino on April 2, 2021. I actually paid for a stay 4/2/21 - 4/3/21. After checking in to the hotel, me and my partner went to our room - room 203 and were greeted by a soiled room with remnants of goldfish crackers, further poor room qualities including peeled paint on the bathroom ceiling. After stepping into the room and putting our belongings away, we went to PJ Clarke's Restaurant at the resort. My partner had a smeared lipstick stain on his wine glass. We did not say anything to the waitress at that time because we wanted to be modest. After our dining experience, we proceeded to the casino. After gambling for a short while, we proceeded to Coaster's Sport's Bar right outside of the casino entrance. Five minutes after being seating, the fire alarm went off. Not one person stood up at that point. We were left sitting at our table as no one was pursuing the emergency signals and figured it was a false alarm and would be told shortly it was a false alarm. A few minutes later, our waitress stated we had to exit the building. My partner and I exited the casino to go out to one of Tioga Down's designated smoking area. Immediately exited the building, we encountered a very belligerent male individual who proceeded to say, "Oh look at them pretty boys right there," chanting "Trump 2024 - you won't have much freedom when he's back in office." The male then tried confronting us in an attempt to fight us. As we walked out, the male individual made fun of another gay couple that was walking out and leaving the premises at that time stating "look at those fucking fags leaving." At this point after lighting our cigarettes, our safety was immediately jeopardized. We did not feel comfortable staying at the hotel and proceeded to go back to our room. I made a phone call via the hotel room phone and advised the front desk staff that we do not feel comfortable staying at Tioga Downs and would like to check out. After several questions from the front desk staff to go over our issues, the team-lead got on the phone and stated they could put us in a different room. I declined and advised the team lead that we will be down to the front desk to check out shortly. Minutes later we went down to the front desk to check out and I asked the team lead if I would be refunded that night's stay. He stated that would be up to the manager which was not in at the moment but stated a manager would be in at 10:00 am the next morning. He stated he would forward my information to the manager and stated a manager would be in Saturday, April 3rd. Video surveillance can verify that we were only in our room a short time. My partner and I left Tioga Downs Casino & Resort because we did not feel safe and felt our safety was jeopardized and proceeded home. Two other staff at the front desk stated we would get our money back and to contact the manager Robin to do so. The next day, April 3rd, we did not hear from a manager and waited until after 3:00pm. I then called the hotel back and was advised there was NOT a manager in on the weekends. After a lengthy conversation with the shift lead (it was a female) I advised I needed a manager to call me. She had told me that her manager Robin would be in on Wednesday to give me a call - nothing about a manager named Keyonna (not sure if spelt correctly) as I have reached out to Robin multiple times and she has failed to call me back as well. Keyonna has ALSO stated we would NOT be charged for either night and would receive compensation for each night that we did not stay as we were only at the hotel from approximately 8:00pm - 11:00pm.  I had been playing phone tag all week and did not speak to a manager until today, April 16, 2021 when I called on my lunch. I had left extensive voicemails since last Friday, 4/9/21. When I spoke with the manager Keyonna today 4/16/21, she stated as of last Friday 4/9/21 she opened up her schedule to contact me but I had a late lunch that day and left a voicemail on my lunch and never contacted me back. Apparently Keyonna never got that message. When reviewing this information, please put yourself in my shoes. I am a minority being gay and feel if I spoke out to the belligerent male, I could have been knocked out or worse, and that would be an incident on Tioga Down's premises. Tioga Downs stated they have security everywhere but is not true, they only have security around the casino, no outside closed doors where we were. read more

Tioga Downs is a racino that serves the Southern Tier of New York State. They have slot machines, video roulette, simulcast horse racing, and live horse racing in the summer. The live racing is a great way to spend a summer night betting the ponies! The slot machines range from penny to $5 machines. Most are penny machines. They rotate the machines every few months bringing new ones in. This is great unless you're a creature of habit and have a favorite machine. It may not be there the next time you go. The machines here seem to be hit and miss (as it normally is with gambling). Sometimes you will go and you can play for a while and your money will last. Other times it seems like you can't hit a bonus and your money is gone in minute. The food options here are limited. They have a snack bar that has things like soft pretzels, ice cream, cookies, coffee, etc. The Coasters bar has a full menu with things like appetizers, chicken wings, salads, sandwiches, etc. They also have a buffet. The buffet can be expensive on certain days, but they send out coupons to those with a players card and have deals on certain days/times. There is also a Subway. Tioga Downs in the past few years has started to attract some bigger name entertainers for their summer concert line ups. They also get some pretty good cover bands. read more

The casino was great, but our experience in the buffet was less than satisfying Tuesday. As unknown to us it was a $5 Buffet. The line was long and when we finally got our food, it was disappointing. Everyone looked miserable. Staff you could hear complaining. Our server was very unattentive, yet Peg was quick to grab her tip off the table next to us. It so bad even their supervisor we saw walking around with her hands in her pockets. The desserts looked dead, yes dead. It appeared the sugar-free pies were double stacked in the oven and smushed. The room that was provided to us smelled of feces. Room service came and it still smelled. Our kids were told they could swim at a particular time and when we took them swimming that became a issue so we ask for our money back and was told it would take ten days. Guess that was to keep us calm for moment. Then I get a call a couple of days later saying that they wasn't going to reimburse us . (This review is about the Almost Queen concert from 1/12/13) So, I got to see the 9pm show with Almost Queen at Tioga Downs last night. Both the 7pm and the 9pm shows sold out. I have to say this, the band was VERY entertaining. High energy, high stage presence. This could not have been easy as I already mentioned, they were doing 2 shows with only a short break in between. John Cappadona on drums and backing vocals, Randy Gregg on bass and backing vocals, Steve Leonard on guitar and backing vocals, and Joe Russo on lead vocals, keys and acoustic guitar clearly enjoyed themselves (and the crowd) on stage and were reflecting in the moment and the energy. It was a nice change of pace from going to see other tribute bands that take themselves far too seriously. From their opening "rocking" rendition of We Will Rock You, right into Tie Your Mother Down and then Stone Cold Crazy the band really were firing on all cylinders. Joe Russo's stage outfit was clearly a nod to Freddy Mercury's personality and flair. The "Flash" (from the movie Flash Gordon) t-shirt was absolutely priceless! They did a fine job covering better known songs from Queen's catalog including Don't Stop Me Know, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, I Want To Break Free and Under Pressure. Several times, Joe asked the crowd to sing along if they new the words, and the crowd certainly did. There were some British fans in the crowd who were "not feeling any pain" who got the crowd clapping during Radio Gaga. Later into the show many more people stood up by the stage and had fun. All hell broke loose when they went into their rendition of Fat Bottomed Girls, as women of all ages crammed up front to shake their thing. The show definitely ended on a high note. Everyone in the crowd appeared to enjoy themselves. After the show, the band members were out by the merchandise table talking to fans. Not sure if some of those fans will remember talking to the band member though ;) Speaking of merchandise, their proceeds go the the Mercury Phoenix Trust Foundation for AIDS research that Freddie Mercury started just before his death. Just as they were packing the table up, I got to spend a few minutes talking with Joe about touring, the fans, having kids and more. He was a very down to earth guy (they all were really). If they are going to be playing again anywhere near you, I would highly recommend checking them out! FIVE STARS As far as the casino goes - good food, reasonably clean. Pj clarkes: Starters of mac & cheese, crab cake, and malpeque oysters. Mac & cheese was creamy with Smokey bacon, yum! Crab cake was crispy on the outside and lump crab on inside with a nicely spicy sauce on the side. The oysters were fresh. Drinks: rum and coke, Cosmo, and I had them make a raspberry mule. All drinks were very good. Entrees: Turkey dinner platter, strip steak with garlic butter sauce, shepard's pie, and lobster roll. Turkey was good, moist and tasty (gravy on the side) potatoes were a tad cold but tasted good. Stuffing (cornbread) was dry and tasted of bays seasoning, pass on it. Cranberry relish was delicious. Brussel sprouts tasted of teriyaki sauce...good, but....hmmm. lobster roll was good tasted fresh. Strip steak was overdone, but they took it back and made it right and offered a free round of drinks! Apple cobbler for dessert.... acceptable, you should like cinnamon then you'll really like the cobbler. So after posting on their Facebook page...simply because they needed to know that a family of six is upset that they could not be offered a room...I was immediately contacted via Facebook. We messaged back and forth and they assured me that big families are always welcomed and if I would give them a few days...a resolution would be possible. On Tuesday, I was contacted by the resort and Sara was more than accommodating! She said she had received an email about the situation and having a large family herself...she'd be more then willing to help. Long story short...we are very exciting about our upcoming visit!
