Beautiful property in a great location! Restaurant was lovely and staff accommodating. We had a wonderful stay!

This setting was absolutely breathtaking for a wedding this past weekend. The Inn is historic and yet Carl (the owner) has added every modern amenity and his creative passion is evident in every fine detail. A 4 minute walk down the hill to Lake Cayuga and even less to the Gorges Trail where you can get up close to some of the falls. We'll be back.

Simply Amazing. By far the best location and property if you are visiting the finger lakes. I did a ton of research and was nervous I wouldn't pick the right lake to stay on. Trust me this is where you want to be. Whether it's the wine outdoors or eating you can all find it within a couple minutes of Inn at Taughannock!! Rooms are very clean with the most amazing views. I would honestly say this was the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered. It's a must stay in my eyes if you plan to visit the finger lakes!

My husband and I have been wanting to take a trip to the finger lakes region to check out all of the wine, beer and cheese trails that they offer. After going on Tripadvisor we decided to book our stay with Taughannock Farms Inn. We arrived around 1pm and since our room was ready they young lady at the front desk allowed us to check in early. We asked her from some suggestions of the best local wineries in the area. She was happy to provide us with her favorites and also said she would leave a map at the front desk for us. After taking a nap on the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on (we stayed in the Garden Room) we went downstairs and retrieved the map, she even circled her favorites for us. We ate at the restaurant the first night we stayed there. The service and food were excellent as was the view from our table overlooking Cayuga Lake. The location of the Inn was ideal for us, as we were able to visit many of the wineries located on both the Cayuga and Seneca Lakes. Seneca Lake was only about a 20 minute drive. The Inn itself is located on the grounds Taughannock Falls State Park State and there are different trails to hike including one that will take you up to the waterfall. We were very happy with the service, in fact one night while we were having a cocktail on the deck, the bartender arranged for the chef to prepare a cheese platter for us. We would definitely stay here again.

This Inn is beautiful! The staff very friendly and welcoming! They went out of their way to greet us and wish us a good day, and ask us if we needed anything. We had everything we needed right in the room. The room itself was beautiful, the mini sweet featured a coffee pot, microwave, and mini fridge. which was perfect for waking up early in the morning to have coffee on the deck with a beautiful view. The evenings were nice and quiet, we could leave the balcony door open to welcome the evening breeze and hear the crickets. It was blissful. The room itself was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The location of the Inn it's perfect if you were going to be spending any time at the falls, or hiking near the lake. It's very close to Ithaca. Just across the bridge really. I would highly recommend! I was impressed with how they went out of their way to offer the Continental breakfast, they had to adapt to a new plan due to covid-19 so they offered a pre-set breakfast each day which was included in the room stay. It was delicious. They offered an egg menu item, a muffin, juice, coffee, tea, etc. They also gave yogurt with fresh fruit and granola and it was delicious. they would even give you one to go if you didn't want to sit in the restaurant. All the staff practicing covid restrictions and wearing a mask. I was very impressed with this place. The only negative I can really think of is that we washed a load of laundry and placed it in the dryer, after a while we went to check it and it was still all wet. Turns out that both dryers were out of order. It was very difficult because the clothes were already wet. we waited a couple of days and nothing ever got fixed. It was disappointing to know that we were not able to do laundry whenever it was offered that it was complimentary laundry this is the reason I'm only giving four stars. Whenever we called down to the front desk to ask if anything could be done we were told no because the only two dryers on the property were the two that were out of order. I would still highly recommend staying at this place.

This little jewel is a best kept secret. I almost don't want to let the secret out but if you are in this area (or even if you're not .. Go!) visit, stay at or eat at Taughannock Farms Inn. They have a new owner and new management and it's amazing. We (our family) was visiting upstate NewYork to see more of this amazing country we live in. We stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. We happened to arrive on the evening of the great firework show hosted by the Inn and boy was that a stunner! (See photo)!! Our rooms were comfortable and the staff was amazing. Stay in room 81 if it's open because the view from the deck is breathtaking and the jacuzzi/bathtub is just what you need after a great day on the lake or a very convenient beautiful hike to see the waterfalls. The restaurant is delicious and the chef is inspirational. The angel hair pasta with red meat sauce is so flavorful that even if you're avoiding carbs you have to try it! (Maybe you could just order a side of sauce)! The GM Brian Simon is terrific and makes you feel like you're an old friend. And if the man (*hollywood producer) in charge of buying and renovating this gem is around, say hello. His effervescent energy is contagious!

The grounds are well manicured. The bed was comfortable and the pillows are plentiful. The location cannot be beat. We had dinner and drinks at the Blue Pointe Grille the night we arrived. It's rare that I'm dazzled by a hotel or feel that it's worth the money (they're all stupid…read moreexpensive these days), but Harbor Hotel was a wonderful experience I'd recommend to anyone. Don't get me wrong, it's expensive. But for once I felt like I'd gotten my money's worth! Everything everywhere was meticulously clean and well-kept. Our room was spacious and bright, with a private balcony and chairs, a couch and coffee table, and a full table that allowed us to take comfortable advantage of the room service breakfast. Potpourri sachets in the closet, free water bottles in the lobby, free coffee stations on each floor, and chocolates every night on the pillows--details, people! We also enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, and of course the gorgeous patio and firepits overlooking the lake which was 80% of the reason we booked here. All of the staff we encountered, from the front desk to the housekeepers, were very friendly. I did think it was a little strange that the fitness center was in a whole different building and you have to walk across the parking lot to get to it, but hey--you get your steps in. The hotel is also very centrally located. On the water, of course, but next door to Seneca Harbor Station from which you can book lake cruises. It's also less than a mile from the entrance to Watkins Glen State Park and hiking trails and only a 5-10 minute walk from most restaurants. We did most things on foot. When you do get back in the car, there are multiple wineries within a 15-minute drive. The only problem the whole visit was the hotel internet, which was terrible every day. You could make do in the daytime, but at night, when everyone was back in their rooms after the day out exploring, it was slow to the point of unusable, and I ended up turning on my data hotspot to even be able to check my email. I would not suggest bringing time-sensitive work with you, and you should not expect to be able to stream videos on your devices. Just disconnect, you'll be less frustrated. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, and while it's nothing mind-blowing, it is a nice option to have (and is one of the few "higher end" type places in Watkins Glen). Menu includes a few of the standard local wines, which was nice!

The owner does a very good job of keeping it up. When I went to check in, nobody was at the office, but there was a phone number listed. I called, and unfortunately, the man that ran, the place was taking care of some personal business. All of the rooms are on a combination door lock so he gave me the combination, and told me we would just take care of the paperwork in the morning. I went over to check in in the morning, and my first night was so good, I decided to stay for another three nights. My first night was booked through hotels.com, but the owner told me that I could book with him directly for the remaining three nights, and he would give me a discount. It saved me some dollars. I appreciate it. He was friendly, and helpful. Again, nothing fancy on the room. The room and the bathroom were spotless The TV got a good picture with cable, there was a coffee pot, a fridge, and a microwave, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had plenty of room, and I'm a big guy. The only thing is, there is no shower mat, so you have to be careful. There were plenty of towels.. The Wi-Fi worked great, with enough speed to easily stream video one evening the Wi-Fi did go down, I contacted the gentleman, and he said he would take care of it. He actually came over to my room, to let me know had been fixed, when he could've just called or texted me. That was excellent service. The price was very reasonable, compared to some of the other places in town. Again, you're not getting anything fancy, you are getting a very simple comfortable place. Watkins Glen is right in the middle of the finger Lakes region. There are plenty things to do, lots of good shopping, and great restaurants. This is the perfect place to launch A visit to the finger lakes. I'm a fan. I would easily stay here again. Thanks.

I am really glad they did. We stayed in a two bedroom unit with my parents. There was plenty of room for all of us. There were plenty of blankets and towels, and the full-sized kitchen gave the place a nice home-like feel. There were even chilled glasses in the freezer for our drinks! The view from the patio is amazing. We enjoyed some time just sitting outside watching boats sail around the lake. For the July 4th fireworks, we sat on the deck (which is exclusive for guests) right on the water. We could not have asked for a better view. As much as we liked the atmosphere of the room, we liked the owners even better. We interacted mostly with Olga, who was so sweet and accommodating. Anything we needed was provided. She treated us to a fresh watermelon, and even allowed my wife (who is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan) to take a Bills glass that was in the freezer home. I cannot say enough good things about Admiral Peabody's. It is definitely a place at which I would stay over and over again.

We needed to find last-minute accommodations that would allow our dog and also didn't cost $500 a night after our van broke down unexpectedly. Admiral Peabody's was an affordable, clean and dog friendly hotel in Watkins Glen that we totally lucked into because it didn't even come up on our searches! This place totally exceeded our expectations. Admiral Peabody's doesn't feel like a hotel. It feels like your own lakeside cottage. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. We were able to sneak a look at the one bedroom bungalow cottages which were also adorable! Our suite was roomy, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. It was also really nice sitting on the deck right outside of our room. PLUS, Admiral Peabody's has a private dock right on the lake with tables, chairs and a blue tooth music system. I'm not sure how old this yelp listing is but the owner now is Luke. HE IS THE BEST. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Watkins Glen, don't pass up this hidden gem.

We chose to stay here for our elopement at Toughannock Falls (5 minutes away) and it was perfect in every way. We stayed in the Junior Suite which had 2 bedrooms, creating the perfect getting ready space. The bedding is luxurious and so comfortable. The room had a fireplace and the bathroom had a standing shower and a tub. I regret that I didnt take pictures of the room, only videos, but if you look on their website, they have detailed pictures of every toom available! Guests have access to the entire downstairs, which includes a living room, a dining room, a tea room with many tables, a microwave, and a tea station, and a study type room that has an honor bar and a record player. The outside grounds are absolutely stunning, with flowers everywhere. The fountain out front was the perfect location for a first look! We had a traveling hair/makeup artist and our photographer come to the location and staff were fine with this and at times, we had the whole place to ourselves. I later learned that the space hosts micro weddings up to 23 people (I think this is how many people can be hosted on the property). This hotel is self service. When you enter, there is a key to your room waiting and some info booklets. There is a number to call an on-site staff but there is not a staff in the main house all the time. It was very very quiet and comfortable. I could hear that there were other guests in the hotel at times but I couldnt make out voices or conversations which was nice. Literally the only inconvenience we ran into was when our takeout order didnt come with utensils or napkins. We couldn't find any on site which surprised me based on the other things that were provided, like ice machines, glasses, tea stations, alcohol, etc. Just a small thing to remember if you stay here! The cutest little breakfast and dinner spots are nearby as well. It really is the perfect little Ithaca retreat and so close to so many waterfalls ans activities. I cant wait to go back!
