He looked at watch as if it was going to be tight although the store was to be open another 2+ hours. While waiting and in chair, rap music blaring in shop with n*gg*r and a**hole prominent in the lyrics. Previous customer charged $35. I asked for similar cut. I was charged $40. Asking why I was told "I am charging $40 from NOW on and he is a regular customer." I guess he does not need me or the other 800 employees of my company to become regular customers. When I told him the music was in appropriate, he said that shop employees had their own mixes and this was what came up. As a business you are responsible for the music to which you subject your customers. Unfortunately this was a sub-par performance because I did like the haircut.

He told me he's been cutting hair for seven years and sees it as an art form. I can definitely see that in his work. He also told me the shop has been open for 90 years and has always been family owned and operated. That says a lot about the place. The atmosphere is very laid back with lots of unique decor on the walls from music to movies and skateboarding. My cut was $30 and was absolutely worth it.
