She and the other nail techs had great customer service and were friendly. Specifically, the tech with pink hair that sits to the left of her. I have been twice and I will be going back! read more

Cody is my go-to nail guy -- he is personable and does a great job every time. I have never left unhappy with his work. I drive 20 mins to go to him when I have many salons near my home. Everyone who works in the salon is friendly and nice and several of them greet me by name even though I'm not their client. The only reason I wouldn't recommend Cody or Tips N Toes would be if I were gatekeeping them read more

I went here the 3rd of July I got acrylic nails and I asked them if they would fix my toes as well... not even 2 weeks later they are falling off and are very unhealthy. I've spent over $400 in two visits!!! When I call up there to ask if I can please speak with management or something they said they would give me a call back and never did. I'm very disappointed as well because she did some toes with acrylic and the others just gel like I didn't ask for that at all very upset and never going back...!!! read more

Phone appointment was super easy and very helpful. I've been on a search for a salon that offers Gel X. I was so happy when I found out this salon does it for a decent price. I was very impressed the moment I walked in. My chair was ready before I got there. And that is a plus. The salon is very professional, good customer service, clean atmosphere, and did an amazing job on both of my pedicure and GelX. Everyone was super friendly. Will be returning soon. read more

My sister and I got pedicures and gel x sets a week ago while I was visiting from out of town. They were very accomodating. We made appointments on short notice and they were able to fit us in for the the following day. I've been here once previously and got a regular pedicure and manicure, both services were great. This time, I was happy with the pedicure, but not so much with the gel x. I was happy with the design. I appreciate the creativity and resourcefulness demonstrated since the design I asked for was kind of unique. However, the cuticle prep and application of the extensions could be improved. I've only had this set for a week and two of my extensions popped off. The base/gel adherer stayed on my nails and just the tips fell off. My sister's gel x set isn't having this issue. I haven't been rough on my hands and I typically have good retention. I would still go back to this salon for normal mani's and pedi's. Due to this experience, I don't think I will get the gel x service here again. read more

If you're looking for a place to not only get a bomb mani pedi, and want to be entertained with good conversation, this is the place for you. Everybody is very kind. I knew I found my new salon when on my first visit, I saw a Mikey Chen food episode playing on their TV. They do amazing with nail designs. The staff there know their limitations, so if one doesn't know how to do something, they'll finish you up on the actual manicure and then have someone else complete the design. I've yet to have a manicure that I didn't love, and I always enjoy my conversations here. It's a salon that makes me feel like I'm coming to visit my friends. read more

Tips N' Toes is my GO TO place for nails here in KC. If you can get a spot with her, definitely work with Stacey. She's super personable and has always done a phenomenal job on my nails. Overall, tnt is consistent and has a huge selection of colors and artists who can do different designs. No where else I'd rather go! read more

My mom and I went here with a blurry image from Pinterest of nails we wanted for a wedding we were in. We have very little experience in getting our nails done so we didn't even know if they could do what we wanted. We both didn't want anything but regular polish, which isn't common these days anymore so we walked in and showed the photo and they helped us pick out the right colors. I then told them that I wished my thumbs would be the same length as the rest of my nails ( they had recently broken). Mylan was amazing. She worked with me to come up with a solution for my thumbs but didn't push for dip or acrylics on all my fingers. The job she did was really amazing. She tried it on herself before doing anything on me to make sure I liked it, and they spent a lot of time with us. AND we had a great time. Michael made my mom's nails look fabulous! We got so many compliments and I wish they could be our nail techs forever, but we live out of town. Mylan also wrote down what she did for me so I can repeat it later. I just moved here from California and was kinda worried about finding a nail place here in Kansas City. I searched all over Instagram and loved their page and called. I loved that they made an appointment for me and wasn't just "told to come on in" Maybe that's a Cali thing! I was scheduled with Dana and she did Not disappoint! My nails were on point and I couldn't be happier! I am so excited I don't keep looking! its family owned and seems the team loves to work together! its super cute and super clean! Much recommended! I have been looking for a new nail salon since moving to the area. I made an appt, as it was the closest to my apt, hoping for a great experience. I was MORE than pleasantly surprised. When I arrived for my appt, I was greated with a friendly staff who was helpful and knowledgeable. My tech, Hom, was so personable. They did my nails horribly and said i couldn't get them fixed. The guy that did my nails cut them a perfect length at first but when it was close to them closing he rushed, was very aggressive, kept messing up the length when shaping them, got the color wrong, didn't fully paint the nails and was overall a bad experience. read more

I just moved to this area and have been looking for a new salon. Went here a couple of times, liked it, but had to take a break since I had just bought a new house and money was tight for a min. I make an appointment for 1230pm and arrive as scheduled. I check in and wait for 15 min. I'm called back and placed in a chair with Luke warm water but assuming she is working with me at this point, I say the water is fine. However she then leaves me to go back to the other client she was working on. I sit there and watch another appointment come in and get immediate friendly service. After another 15 min, with no knowledge of when this appointment might actually start, I returned to the desk and say "I'm sorry, I thought my appointment was at 1230." When the woman at the desk confirms the time is correct, I comment about the wait and that others are getting serviced before me when arriving after me to which this lady responds, "oh, well she is an actual client." Confused, I reschedule my appointment to a day when it can start at the scheduled time. (Who knows if this will happen.) Again, she is not friendly, raises her eyes and appeared annoyed. Clearly friendliness and communication is not a thing here. No one said, "our apologies, your nail tech is running 45 min late. Would you like to come back, wait or reschedule?" This woman acted like I was the annoying one who was out of line because I'm apparently not a client which I assume means I'm not a regular and no one is interested in me reaching that status. My time is just as valuable as anyone else and to make someone wait for that long or longer are rude, not customer service oriented and are not in the market for new clients or a positive reputation. Too bad cause I would have brought my husband and daughter next as they follow where u go. read more

I'm a little bit embarrassed to admit this but I've avoided this place since I moved into the area 4 years ago because it's between a Cicis Pizza and CheckSmart and I definitely judged a book by its cover! However, I finally decided to check it out this week and man I've been missing out! I came in for a simple gel removal without an appointment. I was greeted so warmly by Jimmy, the owner, and was told it would be a 15 minute wait. After a quick wait, Jimmy set me up at his station. Turns out Jimmy and his wife recently bought the business from a friend and are slowly hiring nail technicians. Jimmy worked at a nearby nail salon for over six years. Jimmy was so nice and friendly and it's great to know I was supporting a family business. A gel removal is a simple process but I had to write a review because of what amazing customer service I received! I'll definitely be back to check out a manicure or pedicure read more

A trusted friend with fabulous nails recommended Tips N' Toes to me, and I haven't looked back since! I've had acrylics and fills by Dana, a gel mani by Jimmy, and a gel pedi by Valencia. All have been high quality and exactly what I wanted. I have to give a special shoutout to Dana -- I'd always wanted to try acrylics and she was the perfect guide. She has expert recommendations when I'm not exactly sure what I want and always ensures I'm happy with the result. The last two times I've been in, I've heard customers talking about how they drove in from Lawrence and Leavenworth to get their nails done here. To me, that underscores the exceptional and consistent quality that this salon puts out. I highly recommend making an appointment, as they're always busy (for a good reason)! read more

This was by far the best pedicure I've had for a few reasons: The team, and I call them that because they all worked together, helped each other and were so friendly, they were great, the atmosphere was inviting and relaxing. My guy, Jimmy, was receptive to what I liked most and was personable. The best part? I left and my toe got messed up in the parking lot, my fault. I went back in and Stacy jumped in, helped me out and was so nice as well. I am soooo happy I found this place. Great service! read more

As I'm sitting waiting for my pedicure to dry I am so impressed with the professionalism and quality of customer service I feel extra compelled to write this review before I leave. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Great attitudes. And my entire pedicure was pleasant and it looks great. Mike did an amazing job and was so kind and checked in with me continually throughout making sure I was satisfied. Also I didn't even get color for my manicure and it looks amazing. I have never been to another salon with such great prices along with skilled technicians that have common courtesy and such a warm welcome to customers. You can feel like you are right at home. I love getting the sugar scrub on my legs. Honestly, my favorite part! Haha. Most of the time I go with my mother and we get pedicures. No complaints whatsoever from us. The selection of polishes could be better - but I am a sucker for french tips, so it does not bother me. The technicians are always friendly, aware, and comforting. All around, good times. read more

Went here for the first time last week and it was great! I made an appointment in advance and they got me in right at my reserved time. Julie did my nails and she is the best. She did a beautiful acrylic ombré and was able to do so while still keeping my nails at the shorter length I preferred. Everyone was very friendly. 10/10 recommend and I will be returning! read more

Stopped by as a walk in for a men's manicure and was able to get right in. This was my first time getting a manicure, and had a great experience. Tina helped me out, she was very personable and helpful recommending what most guys get, as I had no clue. All the staff seemed very friendly and helpful, would recommend this place. read more

I absolutely LOVE this nail salon and it's close to home and work. The staff is super-friendly with the customers and with each other and they take the time to get to know you. I'm treated like family. They love what they do and it shows. Also, and please don't take it the wrong way, but everyone speaks English - no talking about you, lol. It's so refreshing and I'm super-glad I found them. Tina, Dana, Jimmy, Brandon, others I don't remember: you guys are the BEST and have done an outstanding job with my service each and every time. Been going to this place for years but went yesterday for the the first time in a while and was convinced to try the new dip nails and was not to pleased. Very nice people but very sloppy job and was very mislead about the price. I keep giving this place a chance because have been happy in the past but I will not go back ever again. Sorry for trying to give them the Benefit of the doubt. I wish I could have them taken off and have my money back that's how unhappy I am about this whole set. read more

I went here at the recommendation of a friend for a Shellac manicure. I was very pleased with the polish (the brand was Gelish), which has definitely held up - no chips so far and it's been 12 days. The service was very efficient, but I was less than satisfied with several other aspects of my visit. I walked in, and the staff immediately greeted me without looking up from the nails they were working on halfway across the room. They said they could work me in within 10 minutes, and they did. I opted for the $35 Shellac Manicure. The technician put my hands in plastic baggies and squirted lotion on them, and then instructed me to put my hands in electric warmers. She then left me to go give someone across from me a pedicure, during which she answered her cell phone and talked to her other coworkers barely acknowledging the client. While sitting there all by myself (...cue Celine Dion...) I noticed how dirty the place was. I don't think the counter where I was sitting had been wiped off all day, the carpet was dirty, and the technician didn't wash her hands between clients either - she went strait from me to her pedicure client and back to my hands. She wiped the lotion off my hands with a dry room temperature washcloth, and then lathered some more lotion on my hands. Then she told me to get up, go across the room, and wash my hands. That was the end of the "manicure." The polish portion was slightly better. She quickly filed and trimmed my nails, but she didn't ask how I wanted them shaped, so I had to ask her to redo one hand. I wanted a French Tip polish, and she did a great job making the white tips the perfect length. Interestingly, it seemed like the place had a lot of regulars. One girl came in and was treated like a rock star with all of the employees greeting and making eye contact with her. The reason why this place gets one star and not two is due to the dirty interior and the fact that my technician didn't wash her hands between clients. If you can overlook that and only want a polish this place will get the job done. But I've had many nicer manicures for less money where the technician actually stayed and focused on you the entire time. I won't be returning to Tips and Toes anytime soon. read more

Wouldn't recommend this place. I came in for gel removal and then a gel manicure. I don't think my nail tech had ever done nails before. I had to file them myself. She also cut my hand, not even the nail area. The massage was hardly a massage and she didn't use any lotion really. It was also super expensive, over $30. I'm a college student and somehow I didn't qualify for the student discount?? Won't be going back... read more

I went to this salon for a pedicure because it was close to my house and I wanted to give it a try. I agree with the first reviewer, who said the client is barely acknowledged. They did a nice job with the pedicure, however I was not satisfied at all with their customer service. At one point my pedicurist got up and left for a while without saying a word, I thought she was finished so I began to put on my sandals and accidentally chipped my nail polish. She came back extremely irritated and screamed at me, saying she would have to redo that nail. Again, she did not tell me when she was finished, she just walked off to the next customer. When I went to the front to pay, the cashier did not even speak to me. I asked him if it would be $30 and he just mumbled. He took my money then just walked away without even a simple thank you. I am giving Tips & Toes a one star review because of their bad customer service. I think they were rude to me because they saw that I am a teenager, since I saw they were being friendlier with their older, regular customers. However, I don't think that gave them the right to scream at me. I will not return to Tips & Toes, nor do I recommend it to anyone. read more

The girl doing my pedicure was VERY slow. I noticed two pedicures were nearly completed before mine. I told the receptionist and she said she's new and was dismissive about it. If they are going to put a new person on the floor, they need to make sure she is actually ready. If she is still in training, they need to give the client a discount and inform them the pedicure might be longer than normal. It was not the technicians fault, it was the studios fault. Poor management and poor training. I doubt I'll go back.
