Jim-may, my man! Nice place ya got here buddy…read more I was seeking a bar that was roughly halfway between Oak Park & Orland Park (meeting someone, heh heh), and I happened to stumble upon this über-divey treasure. Miller Lite was the only beer they had on tap, but you could get a bucket of it for like a nickel. Hyperbole? Maybe. A 60oz pitcher of the classic domestic swill cost only $5, which is pretty damn tough to beat if you ask me. Liz behind the bar was super friendly and introduced herself not long after I sat down. Once my +1 arrived, Liz was nice enough to make a bag of popcorn that she gave us to munch on. Talk about being given a warm reception! They don't accept Discover and have a $10 minimum on credit card purchases, but for a small operation like this it's to be expected, so I can't fault them for that. Some of the barstools are a teensy bit ripped-up, although in a dive bar setting like this, I find that they truly 'complete the look'. Great homey feel and a jukebox loaded with tons of tunes for 50¢ or a dollar per song. They've got billiards tables and a few slot machines that I imagine get a lot of play from their 'regulars'. They also feature Karaoke on select nights of the week. There's a very tasteful piece of nude art behind the bar, which I'm told is a painted portrait of someone who works there. Being a big fan of all things naked people, I found this to be a nice touch amidst the cans of Old Style and half-empty Smirnoff bottles. ....and unless I'm mistaken, I definitely met/talked to/received free shots from *the* Jimmy of said namesake bar. His taste in Huey Lewis & The News (along with his great taste in hats) didn't go unnoticed. He was hilarious and insisted that I stick around for a while [keep in mind this was at 11pm on a Wednesday], but I had to decline. Lyons is generally off my radar, but for the way I was greeted and taken care of at this establishment, I'd not hesitate for a second to stop back in, if I were to be in the area again.

They have Italian beef eggrolls that are one in 1 million. The outer dough is always crispy and the Italian beef inside is always flavorful and tender. It comes with a side of aus ju and you top it off with a little Tabasco and it is a 10 out of 10. The wings here are not the skimpy meatless wings. They are thiiick! The ranch is solid and they don't charge extra for it if you need more. Great for those ranch "drinkers" lol. That's ask have a Mangonaso cocktail that's perfect. My wife is picky when it comes to mixed drinks and it was perfect and she couldn't stop ordering them. This place is great for groups or even a date night. They have trivia at night and other events that are really cool and can be found on their website. It's a nice local old school/new school bar that brings a city vibe to a quiet suburb. They even have an outdoor patio section that is amazing during the summer and fall time. They have crème brûlée that was done perfectly, which is hard to find in the Berwyn area.

Chicken wings with a cold beer is a staple for a sports bar and a tavern, when you are so cheap and you microwave frozen chicken wings, you totally suck. It's a simple, friendly, no frills neighborhood tavern. There's a dart board and the obligatory Golden Tee machine in the corner. There is no food menu at Tapp City, just the Sunday football munchies that they set out for hungry fans. If you go on a weekday, you can get a slice to go from Pizza Platter next door and enjoy a beer with your slice at the Tapp. The Sloppy Joe's were great and with a little added giardiniera, it gives the little sandwiches a kick that any draft deserves to follow! =)

It's the perfect hangover burger: simple, juicy, and served with just a side of chips. Sometimes less is more, and they nail it. My friends and I have stayed away from here due to rude staff, riff raff, fights, etc. in the last several years. We decided to give them a try a week ago as we were assured by another patron that it was under new ownership. The new owners supposedly cleaned house and removed all the previous troublesome staff. Everything seemed to have improved from our visit here a week ago, but that's because Michelle was not there. We had zero issues with the staff that day, we were served without issue, and overall we thought the renovations were an improvement. The prices have gone up but they have added premium beverages to their selection. Unfortunately, Michelle was not included in the staff overhaul, and mistreated my friend during a recent visit. It is a real shame that The Cordial Inn continues to have problem bartenders, because this place *used* to be a gem. It's now a far cry from cordial. The interior renovations are not worth it for any of us to tolerate disrespectful behavior from bar staff. I am beyond offended that the new owners allow the bar staff to treat customers badly. There are plenty of other choices in the area, and my choice is to spend my money where the staff appreciate my money and patronage.
