I went to get an oil change and tire rotation. After inspection they stated I needed new tires. They priced some and I chose to get tires and an alignment. They got busy and only had one technician. They asked if I could get the oil changed today and come back in the morning to get tires and alignment. I stated yes I would. On my 40 min drive home I started to hear a knocking sound. I had to pull over, my car started giving me an error saying to cut the engine off, need oil. I looked under the hood and there was oil everywhere, I checked under the car and oil was leaking. I checked the oil and not a drop was in there. Thank God I had two qts in the car. I had to put them in just to make it 10 more minutes home. Went in to buy new tire and they told me after inspecting i had a warranty claim on the tires I bought from them because the wear bars were 3 mb after only 9k miles. For several weeks the manger told me the manufacturer had not gotten back to them. I finally pushed for an answer, was told to call corporate and eventually learned that the store manager had known for some time that the manufacturer had denied the claim. I was unable to get an explanation of why the manager had not told me that despite us having about a dozen conversations including one 30 minutes before the corporate call. They didn't seem to want to have any conversation about the hours of wasted time this had caused or why tires had even wear down to 3 mb after 9k miles. They told me to get off the lot and take my car someplace else after I paid them over $2800 For a brake job The brake peddle makes an unusual squishing noise when depressed. The brake peddle travels down too far when pressed and does not retract fast enough. Three of the employees there told me it is normal and refuse to do anything about it. Date: 2-17-2025. I was driving home from work for a distance of about 3 miles. The car was driving slower and slower with the same gas peddle application. I pulled into my driveway and WHITE SMOKE was coming from both front brakes. It smelled terrible and the metal of my new front disks were a scorched blue in in color. I was able to force that car back to their shop which is about 1/2 mile away. Brakes were still smoking, you could feel the heat 10 feet away, and the mechanics could smell it at the rear of their shop. I left the car overnight for them to repair it. I picked the car back up in the afternoon of 2-21-2025. I was them if they replaced the scorched rotors and they said that they did not. They told me that everything was within limits and that two of their mechanics text drove the car. I picked up the car and drove it home. 2-22-25. The left front brake is making rubbing and other strange noises. The brake peddle is still making "squishing " noises. It is still not correct. I am also worried that all of the excessive heat damaged the temper of the disk metal and also maybe damaged the seal on the front bearings? Unfortunately, they did not have the tire I needed in stock and were not even able to give me a quote on the cost after the road hazard. He also did not offer to check other stores for the tire. He said he would order it and call me when it came in. I went to my car, called the downtown location (they had the tire I needed) and went there. This is not a place I look forward to spending my money, however we all know it will happen. I found myself with a stalled vehicle on a Friday afternoon about 4. After having AAA come out to tell me it was a tow job and waiting for a tow truck to arrive I ended up at Tire Choice about 5:30 . I called prior to having the tow. The gentleman on the phone assured me he would have me out of there by closing, if it was the starter as AAA had said. The rep here was so kind. Quick to greet me. He gave me a better price than the shop I normally go to. They even gave me an oil change. As promised, the job was done and I was on my way. I would not hesitate to bring my vehicle back here. On a side note, I will always ask for a tow when dealing with AAA. I learned a lesson here. This time I decided to stay while they checked out my car, though it took 4 hours to get my car back. The manager Alan was excellent. The part that was put in my car was not the right one, so he ordered another one from a location down the street, it came but again it was the wrong part. Alan made every effort along with the mechanic to figure out the correct part and again got another one. He kept me in the loop and even showed me the part and explained what the difference in the parts were. Which I appreciated. Started off the day with a slow leak/nail in my right rear tire on the way to work. I stopped at the competing place across the street and had to stand there for 10 minutes before being acknowledged and told it would take about 2 hours to get a repair done as I didn't have an appointment. Drove across the street to The Tire Choice and Peter was quick to write up the work order and get my car into the shop. I also witnessed him with a couple of other customers after I came in and he was honest and very up front with everyone. He even tailored options to their budgets without being pushy and making it seem like their cars would fall apart if they didn't get their service done right then and there. Took my vehicle apart and told me that the bearing fell apart when they lifted it up and now it isn't drivable and so when I had the tow truck come to get it they had my wheels brake pads and rotors pulled off and told me that they could not put it back together because who they had there at the time did not know how to put it back together and that I would have to come back tomorrow So on my way out I asked one of the technicians if you knew how to put everything back together he told me yes and then the manager told me he can't put it back together because he is off the clock Overall horrible experience and I will never use them again I hope this help the read more

It was a coolant reservoir take needed to be replaced due to a crack. Okay cool, then they tried selling me a new hose and a coolant flush after I just changed the fluid two months prior claiming water got in there???? They quoted me $850 for a $100 part off eBay. Why do people hate going to auto repair shops? Tire Choice in S. Tampa is the perfect example why. I got an estimate of several repairs from the toyota dealership after taking my car there for just an oil change. I knew never to trust the dealership b/c they are commission based. I have a lifetime alignment at Tire Choice so I took my vehicle in there. They refused to give me my alignment b/c they said my struts needed replaced, both sets of brake pads, rotors and lots of other stuff to the tune of $2000. Funny thing was, none of the repairs they said I needed matched with what the Toyota dealership said. I took my vehicle into a third mechanic who had great reviews on Yelp. Without telling them anything they said I needed a serpentine belt (tire choice missed that one), and recommended 4 new tires. That's all. Bottom line; beware. These guys are snakes. They will tell you that you need repairs that you do not need. I will always get a second and third opinion moving forward. read more
