I went there for a tire rotation. They told me my brakes were bad. Quoted me $850 for breaks. I said no, and they let me drive off. Cool. That was great. However, when I went to go to the place that I trusted to do my breaks, they said one lug nut from every tire was completely stripped. Tires Plus stripped one lug nut from every tire. The mechanic even proved it to us! Costing us more money! This is the second time Tires Plus did not do something properly. They also misdiagnose cars! I am done with Tires Plus. read more

This just in... Tires Plus can not get Falken Wild Peak A/T tires! The Falken tire website lists Tires Plus as the preferred source in my area. But, the fine people at Tires Plus say that this in not true. They didn't even offer me another brand in my particular tire size. I guess shopping locally for tires is out of the question. In the last four months, I've bought a new set of tires, had a 4-wheel alignment done, two oil changes, a tire replacement (due to a flat tire that was beyond repair), and a new battery installation, all at this location. The high level of service I received from Jake, the Service Manager, when I started shopping for a tire provider is the reason I chose this store. It's two blocks from my office, but that is not enough reason for me to choose to do business with a company. They didn't carry the tires I wanted but ordered them and had them in stock within a couple of hours. Since I worked close, I had the luxury of leaving the car and going to work. Communication wasn't great in letting me know my car was ready. I had to call to find out if the car was ready four hours later and they needed another 30 minutes. I think that was back in October. Two months later I needed an oil change and experienced what Becky S. did, an hour and a half wait for an advertised 30-minute oil change. They told me my next oil change would be free as a result. Apparently, they also rotated my tires. I don't know why, since tire rotations are done every 5,000-6,000 miles and these tires only had 3,000 miles on them, which they would know since I bought the tires at their location. My visit last week for the flat tire was vastly improved! The store was absolutely swamped with customers. I simply left the car and told them to call me when it was ready. I asked for a 2 1/2 hour window, but wasn't expecting it due to the volume of customers they had. I received a call from Jake 2 1/2 hours later to let me know that they needed to get a new tire because the flat tire was beyond repair and needed to get it from their supplier. I asked if they would have it done by 5 or 5:30 when I finished work. He said definitely that day but could not guaranty 5 or 5:30. I was completely satisfied to get the phone call with honest information that I could work with. A co-worker dropped me off a little after 5:00 and my car was ready. By the way, I bought the road hazard protection for the tires, which ended up saving me over $120 on this flat tire, so I recommend you pay the extra $15 per tire for this protection. Today, I had a new battery installed and another oil change (no charge on it due to last visit, as promised). They weren't anywhere near as busy as last week. I expected to be there an hour to an hour and a half. They had me out in an hour. The store manager, Jason (very friendly and very customer service oriented), explained that they hired on extra staff in the garage to reduce customer wait times. I suspect Becky S.'s review had something to do with that. There was a coupon on the Tires Plus website for the battery for $99 plus a $10 rebate, but there is an installation charge (just under $20), so that offset my excitement of the battery price. However, my last two experiences were definitely better than the prior two visits. I feel better about doing business at this Tires Plus now. Hopefully, they can keep this up. read more

If this could be zero, I'd complain I couldn't get to negative stars. Older female lady at the counter was a condescending b*, completely wasted my time. I ended up going to another tire store that had no problems doing what they told me they won't (and unshockingly "can't" do) To top it off, for some reason their "tech" saw fit to crank the a/c in my car and move the seat position for the 30' drive into their garage. That really ticked me off. More than the lady's attitude. There was an older gentlemen there however that was pleasant and polite, he should probably take over. Made an appointment online - thought WOW can't believe they can get me in right away! Walked in, customer service was fine, but I asked about how long and was told 1 hour. Great! Did some shopping on my lunch break, came back and my car didn't even budge. I asked the lady if it had been worked on and all she could say was no, we couldn't get it back. 1. What is the point of making an appointment if you can't even get it back on the scheduled time? 2. Don't tell me an hour when it had to of been extremely clear you were overbooked - every stall was full when I arrived, but I was under the impression they were almost done. 3. I am from a small town in Door County and have had the same guy work on my cars since I was 16. I am in Milwaukee for several weeks due to a sick child at Children's Hospital. When my breaks started to grind I was nervous finding a place I could trust and give me the same small town care I'm used of! I found Tires Plus. The staff here were extremely kind and helpful! Made me feel like I was at home and in good hands! They fixed what needed to be fixed, showing me my old parts compared to the new! I wasn't overpriced or sold on parts I didn't need! Even helped me get financing knowing I was in a tough place! I left feeling like my car was safe to drive and restored my faith in the City. I wish I had read some of the reviews posted here before making my last appointment with Tires Plus. I had an issue with the electric window on the driver's door. It took an hour to diagnose, which is acceptable. I was given a price for parts and labor which I agreed to. However, the male service manager agreed to waive the fee to diagnose the problem, about $50. I was told it would take 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete the repairs. 2 hours turned into 4 by the time I left. Also, the female service manager put the $50 diagnostic fee back into the final bill. She offered no apology for the extra 2 hours, NO ONE ever came out to update me on the progress, the mechanic moved the seat around to his liking and never put it back, and, finally, there was dirt galore everywhere on the drivers door, carpet and molding. I asked to be contacted by customer service regarding my experience-no word 3 business days after this nightmare. I made an appointment 1 week in advance to have new tires put on my 3/4 ton service van. Arrived 5-10 early, choose the tires to have put on and said I will wait for it. Was told it could take up to 2 hours as it is a truck. Proceeded to go shopping across the street, returned 35 minutes later and the truck had not even moved. This was a 8:00 am appointment, they could not be backed up yet. When asked, the Lady could not tell me why an 8:00 appointment did not mean 8:00. After another 5-10 minutes, I took my keys and left. Every time I go into Tires Plus in Brown Deer, I get AMAZING customer service. The store manager, Jason, is always very personable and he expects his staff to be the same. They are such a great crew. They've never tried to sell me something I don't need, and they have even sent me away without charging me a thing if there really wasn't something wrong with my car! I can't rave enough about the service. I feel 100% confident that they will get it right and if they don't, will fix it without batting an eye. This time around was just an oil change, but I have recommended dozens of people to go there and ask for Jason and they have always gotten the same treatment as I have. This was my second time here and it was much better the second time. The online reservation system worked and they had the correct tire ready when I arrived. I highly recommend early appointments as it seems they back up through the day. I asked them to also check my coolant and it was reported fine at no charge. After the work was done they did an excellent job of re-packing the spare tire and equipment. read more

I recently moved offices and found myself right down the street from Tires Plus. I scheduled an oil change appointment online and dropped the car off. I asked them to put on some new windshield wipers and asked them to look over the breaks and let me know how much life was left in the pads. The service Manager also not only put on the wiper blades without charging me labor but was also honest about the fact that my pads were fine for now and I might consider replacement in 4-5 months. He also gave me a custom quote for the break job so I would know how much it would be in the future. They called me and said the car was ready about an hour before I expected it. I look forward to using Tires Plus for my oil/tire/battery/car maintenance needs for the foreseeable future and have started recording them to others in my office building. read more

I made an appointment for 9 am to have a set of new tires put on my vehicle. I work at 6 am and was told that I could drop my vehicle off and leave the key in an envelope in the drop box the day of my appointment. I dropped my vehicle off at 6 am the morning of my appointment and left the key in the drop box as instructed. I hadn't heard from anyone at Tire Plus all day and decided to call at 4 pm to see if my vehicle was done. When I called I waited over 8 minutes to speak with a live person only to find that not only was my vehicle not done but they had not checked the drop box when they started at 9 am. When I dropped my vehicle off in the morning it was the only vehicle in the lot and no one thought to check the drop box as they are supposed to do in the morning. The only thing they could do is blame the manager for not checking the drop box when he came in in the morning. Very FRUSTRATING. Tires plus will not get my business in the future nor would I recommend them to anyone looking for tires or car repairs. read more

So I got a front brake job done ( pads and rotors), one week later the brakes are squeaking. I'm busy so I cant take it back as soon as I want to but fast forward to yesterday and I finally get it back to the shop. The one on deerbrook trail off of browndeer rd. This dude Chris that works there gets my car at 9:30 am, and ends up keeping my car overnight to change two brake pads. Just closed the shop on me after he just called me like an hr before and said he would not do that. First of all brakes should be a breeze for a shop like that second of all customers should not be lied to about the status of their car. Let's face it, there's an abysmally low possibility that you're happy to be at an auto repair place. You're about to sink more money into your car, and like every service-based business that makes appointments...unless you're the first spot that day, you're going to have to wait. I've been taking my car to this location for over 6 years for oil changes as well as more significant things like replacing my power steering and my alternator. The staff here is always as pleasant, helpful, and accommodating as they can possibly be while angry people lash out about spending money on maintenance. And if my tire pressure is low, I'll even bounce in quick and they'll top 'em off for me. The staff here sets these guys apart. read more

I have been going for this shop for many many years and over many years bought a lot of tires from them.... but last week I brought my Toyota to them for a check because my rear tire was leaking. They told me that I have 2 nails in my tire and that this cannot be repaired. They offered me to replace entire almost new tire, which I bought from them less than a year ago and which should have been covered by a warranty. Yet, they told me to buy a new one because "it cannot be repaired." They quoted me a price of $350 for a new tire. Good that I do have a friend, who is a mechanic... so I called him and he asked me to SMS to him a pictures of my tire, which they said cannot be repaired. Thereafter, he called me back and said that "they are taking you to cleaners".... this is a fraud.... tire can be repaired and shall not be replaced..... So, they just tried to defraud me..... Now, my tire is fixed and I ended up not wasting $350.... but I now understand or suspect that they do that type of fraud to another people as well.... That is apparently how they are running their business... by fraud.... I will never do any business with them again .... and I want other people to be aware that the people who are working at this particular location can easily take us "to cleaners"..... One of my biggest pet peeves in life is when you're told something will take X amount of time but it ends up taking much longer. I don't understand how some businesses haven't figured out that you should always tell customers things will actually take longer than they will. If I only wait 20 minutes at a restaurant when they told me 45, I'm ecstatic. Flip that situation around and I'm either pissed or have left. Tires Plus in Brown Deer gets a failing grade on their time estimation skills. I got new tires here this year and it took about two and a half hours, more than double what I was told. The only reason I came back for an oil change was because they gave me a certificate for a free one as an apology for taking too long with my tires. Home of the "30 minute oil change," I was told 45 minutes for a oil change and wiper blade replacement. Fair enough. I'm gonna let you guess though. How long do you think I actually waited? 30? 45? 60 minutes? Nah, they took over an hour and a half (and they didn't even bother to reset my oil life % indicator). Seriously guys, work on this. Tell me it'll take two hours and I'll go shopping across the street and won't be annoyed. However, if you take double the time you promised I'm gonna get super annoyed and come to this very important conclusion-I'm never coming back. read more

When I visited this location they tried to tell me that I needed rotaters and pad to the tune of $900. I had someone else change just my back pad for about $100. I am disappointed that anyone would try and take advantage of someone that they think is not knowledgeable about vehicles. Ladies, if you go to this location please take someone with you that knows about cars. I ended up spending closed to $200 for an oil change, 2 lights they said were out, and for them to clean my battery that was unnecessary. Better yet, avoid this chain all together. All I can say is wow. I made an appointment to have my front brakes done. When I made the appointment I said I would leave my car but needed it back by 2pm. Was told that wouldn't be a problem. Dropped it off at 10am and was told they would call me with an estimate. At 1pm, I hadn't heard anything so I called and was told my car was next in. At 2pm, still hadn't heard so I called again and said they were running behind. I had to cancel my afternoon plans. They called at 2:45 with the estimate, which I agreed to, and was told it would be done by 4pm. I called at 4:30 and was told it still wasn't being worked on, but they would have it done by 5:30. I called at 6:30 and they were finally working on it, but it wouldn't be ready for another 45 minutes! So now my entire days plans have been ruined, and I still don't have my car back. Shoddy customer service. What was the point of me making an appointment? We'll see what type of apology I get when I finally get to pick up my car.... read more

I just returned from Brown Deer tires plus to have an inspection on my vehicle. It had been to my dealer several times for repair and every time I got it back I still heard a noise that just grates on you. My son said to take it in to an independent for a second opinion. Prior to making the appointment I went online to get their phone number and came across less than rave reviews. Needless to say, I was hesitant, but my son insisted I give them a try. I called and yes, waited on hold for a bit longer than expected, but when I did speak to someone it was apparent that they were extremely busy with phones ringing off the hook - now in my mind this is a good thing, is it not? I was able to bring the vehicle in the next morning and wait for it. I went for a ride with the tech and pointed out some of the noise which I had been hearing, then he took the car for a ride as well. All within 45 minutes from entering the store, I had my diagnosis and a repair quote (very reasonable based on my dealer pricing). Both Jason (store manager) and Mike (tech) were very knowledgeable, professional, with great attitudes! So, going forward I will be skipping the dealer and give Tires Plus a shot - what I've experienced is a good thing so thank you Tires Plus! read more
