They participate in deceptive business practices. Also found out you can talk your way into an alignment for about $89, however, no warranty on labor. I was in the market for an alignment and was calling different locations looking for the best deal. In the process I call tires plus. I spoke with Jessie on the phone. He informs me there is an option to purchase a service package of unlimited alignments for the duration of your ownership of the vehicle for $189 plus tax. I already thought this was a good deal. As I continue to speak with Jessie, he says that's the price but if I come in and ask for him, he can "do something for me." I already think this is a good deal, and he seems like a friendly store associate who is gonna somehow get me a good deal on an alignment. I recently bought tires at Discount Tire and had a great experience, store associate hooked me up. So I didn't think this would be some sort of deceptive tactic to get me in the store. So I come in, chat with Jessie, he reiterates the price is $189 plus tax. He says, "but if you open up a credit card with us, the price is $169." So they've lured me into the store, said they would do something for me, and turns out I'm doing something for them, and opening up a credit card, for $20 off. I'm irritated and we go back and forth. At some point he says, "you'll still get the $20 discount." So now I'm thinking, oh ok, this guy's solid, still gonna hook me up. So I go through with the alignment. I get the invoice at the end, and I'm wrung up for $224. Turns out the price he's been quoting of $189 plus tax, is already discounted from their ordinary price, I guess. No where in the conversation did Jessie say $189 was already a discount so I assumed $169 was the price I would be getting the service. So once seeing that, I understand the $189 figure is far below $224. So I ask for a price breakdown. I then realize Jessie never mentioned a shop fee in his quotes. When asking for pricing, if you're gonna say $189 plus tax is the price, you should also include the shop fees of $20 you're going to add. It's not a dealership, shouldn't have to ask for an out the door price at an auto shop if you are already quoting me the price. Jessie isn't a manager or doesn't have the authorization to touch pricing so he tells me to come back tomorrow and speak to Ryan. Ryan was less than helpful. Was unable to see how any of the actions of his associates were deceptive, despite it being clearly laid out. And said the best he could do was dock the shop fees. So I took that. Spoke with corporate, had a great experience. They were much more equipped to handle the situation. And the situation was handled in a manner beyond my satisfaction. This location though, would not recommend. read more

Tires Plus consistently has the worst service of any repair shop I have been to. Last week I needed an oil change and more wiper fluid. I was promised all fluids had been topped up but they flat out lied to my face about that, because a week later the wiper fluid is empty. The receipt they gave me had only some of my information on it, the rest was someone else's. The codes they ran to check on some misfiring said it was misfiring on all four cylinders but my regular mechanic said only 2 misfires. I just talked to someone today named Steve, who didn't want to hear me at all, would not let me talk, just kept wanting to assure me that of course they did everything right on their end. Their lack of quality of service and willingness to be very untruthful right to my face makes me question if they even changed the oil, or just slapped up a new sticker. This is not the first time I have had trouble with Tires Plus. Their only value is they are open on the weekends but seriously it's just not worth going there. At all. Took my car to replace the two front tires and an oil change. After leaving the shop and only a few minutes driving, the dashboard lights all came on. Took it back and they were closing. I was told to come back the next day anytime between 7:00 am & 7:00 pm. Showed up around 5:00 with my son( his car) waited for another 1.5 hours and was told that they couldn't figure it out because the "real" mechanic was gone for the day. This morning I showed up around 10:00 and requested to speak with the manager and his attitude was far from friendly, they tried to turn the whole situation around and tried to blame it on a leaking boot. After they refused to fix the problem I was asked to leave the premises and threatened to be removed forcibly. BEWARE OF THESE THIEVES !!! We had just driven to Tallahassee from the Tampa Bay area only to find that a panel was hanging down underneath our son's car after having just had the vehicle serviced near our home. It was our move in weekend for our son at FSU, a busy and stressful time. We called the closest Tires Plus and spoke with Ryan --he told us to come right over. Although the shop was very busy, Ryan didn't hesitate, taking a quick look, reassuring us he would address the issue. Not only did he squeeze us into the schedule, but because the panel was previously worked on at a Tires Plus, in our area, he did not charge us for the repair. We were and remain truly grateful! The service you get really just depends on the day you go there. You could have excellent service one day with one person, and then the next day you end up there with someone else who seems careless and complains about customers in front of other customers or workers that aren't thorough in their examination of your vehicle. I went in before Thanksgiving to have it thoroughly checked for a long road trip and suitability for towing a travel trailer. I was told that one of my tires had a nail and that they "plugged" it. I am familiar with the difference in plugging and patching and did not mistake the term that was used. However, that tire was still getting low in just a few days, and when I brought it back to have it looked at, they told me everything was fine. I had to ask them to go re-examine it, and then the leak was found. For some reason, the manager was very defensive with me because I had asked them to look for a leak, and he said I told them only to look where the patch was, which was not true. Then he corrected me and said it wasn't a plug, it was a patch in a not so friendly tone. I stated that I was only repeating what I was told, and he argued with me a little bit about it. At that point, I decided I wasn't buying a new tire from them and I wasn't going to return with any of my vehicles. The main reason for my visit was also to get new struts and was quoted at 1768.77 which I agreed to. After I dropped my truck off I just happened to check my email to see that two minutes later I received a work order, without being informed of a price increase verbally when I was there, with a new amount of 1,858.94. When I called to ask why the price went up, I was told because they forgot to put labor on for another part that had to go with the strut assembly. The guy who was running the desk that day seemed very flippant in his attitude. When I asked him why the hood on the car was up while they were in the air, he smirked and shrugged and said he had no idea. Another worker said it is standard procedure that the hoods go up. One complaint that the guy answering the phones had was that someone called to cancel an appointment. He actually complained because the person took time to call as a courtesy and cancel the appointment. As soon as he hung up, he said you really don't need to call and cancel an appointment because then I have to take the time to answer and because appointments really don't mean anything when we are busy. The guy in the waiting room heard him say that and said it was no wonder he had been waiting there all day with an appointment. I usually deal with Robert only who is very nice but the manager Ryan and Khi running the desk lowered the expectations I had of this location on this visit. Very disappointed. read more

I needed a head light bulb switched out and this place was recommended to me. It took a little while for someone to greet me when I first got there. I had to call in order to get someone to come out to the front. When they finally did I was able to quickly set up an appointment to bring my car back. When I did come in for my appointment it took a little back and forth to get to the crux of the issue but when it was finally resolved I was pleased. The staff there seemed genuinely kind, concerned and wanting to "get it right." For those reasons I wouldn't mind giving them my business again should circumstances require it. read more

I went in to get four new tire two studs replaced and a wheel alignment done. I sat there in their store for almost four hours as the guy behind the counter kept telling me 15 min. I walked outside to check on my car that was on the lift with no tires on it and no one working on it. come to find the tires was not even there! if I had known that I would have told them to just put my old tires back on and payed for the alignment. don't use this store for your auto needs it is a waste of your time and mone. speaking of money the gave me a quote for 1000.00 or less it came to 1120.63 only after I questioned them did they lower the price to 1022.00 I was not the only one who was there that was unhappy. read more

I would NOT take my car to another Tires Plus store ever again. I bought a pair of 40k tires less than 45 days ago and put less than 2k miles on them. With the road hazard warranty, I was still charged $48 (tax not included) to replace the tire which cost $150/tire. I utilized less than 5% of the tread and was charged 1/3 of the price of the tire. I spoke with an assistant manager at a sister store in town...the assistant manager's response was...I'd have replaced your tire free of charge because you have the warranty and policy! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This location participates in a number of deliberately dishonest business practices in order to force a sale. I stopped in to see if they could patch a nail hole in my tire. The tire had a very slow leak but was fine to drive on. They quoted me 30$ "if they could patch it", took my keys, and pulled my car in. He came back 20 min later and told me it wasn't patchable because it was in the side wall (not actually in side wall but close enough to be a problem). This was totally understandable, but I asked why it took so long to figure that out. He brings me into the shop to show me the tire removed from the rim and the nail pulled all the way out. 1. Deliberately incapacitating a working vehicle to force a sale. He told me I probably need 4 new tires since it's an AWD vehicle, I said absolutely not. He offered to sell me one of the same exact tire (needed to get from a "store across town") at the price I originally paid for this one. I said ok. They put on the spare and told me to come back later for the wheel with new tire (once it was delivered). When I came back they put on the wheel and had me pay and sign. I didn't get any paperwork just signed the screen when I paid with my card. I received an email invoice with my signature copy pasted into the signature box with the date. When I received the invoice I noticed a different tire was sold to me, this was never mentioned to me and I never signed any documentation saying this was the case. 2. Forging a signature on electronic documentation. 3. Deliberate bait-and-switch tactics with alternate products. None of these issues are of such concern for me to do anything about it, but I will not be going back and I cannot in good conscience recommend their business. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. The manager told me my brakes and rotors were bad, but not a safety issue yet, and tried to sell me a brake job at $547. This store's mechanics nearly killed my family. Back in March of 2018 I had my entire front-end redone at this shop. As I drove home, my car started making an awful grinding noise and I drove it back to the shop. The mechanic said they had forgot to tighten some bolts. Fast forward to November of 2018 while I was visiting family in the Tampa-area for Thanksgiving. I was driving along with my mother, sister, girlfriend, and our 6-month old year son when I heard the clanging sound of metal like something fell from my car. I slowed down and pulled into an empty parking lot and discovered my left front wheel would no longer turn when I moved the steering wheel. My uncle arrived shortly later and stated he thought it was the tie rod. The tow truck driver stated the same thing. I had the tow truck take me to the local Tires Plus since the whole front-end was still under warranty. It was there that I learned from the head mechanic horrifying news. He told me that back in March, when the mechanics at the Apalachee Parkway shop worked on my car, it looked like they performed a rush job and forgot to put the pins back into the tie rods. He said if I had not been driving straight or had been driving faster, that it could have been very bad. I wrote a letter at their website and eventually received a call from the manager of that store saying they would make things right and would get back with me within the next two days. It has now been one week since I was contacted and I have had no follow-up. If you or your loved ones are considering using this shop for repair work, I would tell you to read this post again. This shop nearly killed my family and I and I would hate for their negligence to be the cause for heartache for anyone else. read more

Since my tire pressure indicator light came on during my late 5-hour drive to Tallahassee, I stopped and added air to the tires, but wasn't sure of the cause. The next morning, I stopped at this Tires Plus location, where a helpful gentleman immediately checked the pressure in all my tires, added air where needed, did joy charge me a cent, and warned me to have a particular tire checked again later today before a long drive. I haven't had good experience with either the Capital Circle or Apalachee Pkwy stores. I took my 1990 Corvette to Tires plus on Capital Circle for brake work. I told them I had to keep adding brake fluid. They didn't check under the hood and told me everything checked out. I had to add brake fluid in the parking lot. I took it to the Apalache Pkwy store and they fixed the brakes. After $1200 dollars of work, I picked the car up. The emergency break light was on. I took it back and left it the night before, so they would have plenty of time. That afternoon they told me they were taking for a test drive and we could pick it up. They would call if something came up. I went to pick up the car, and it wasn't ready. They didn't call to tell me anything. I'll take it elsewhere to get the emergency brake fixed, but it won't be a tires plus! read more

However, I've been to the Apalachee location a couple of times now and this location seems OK. They seemed honest with me in recommending service and told me when a service that I requested wasn't necessary. They were quick and seemed to know what they were doing.
