The place is super cute and had the quirkiest items, truly loved the selection. The only thing that…read morereally threw me off was the service . Like any touristy gift shops, things are bound to be a bit more expensive but everything was carefully crafted and fun. My mom, uncle, and I were in the store for a solid 15 minutes, with three employees and we didn't get a single greeting or acknowledgment. I wouldn't have thought anything of it if it wasn't for the fact that I was holding items to buy and they were greeting other patrons. I'm normally not one to leave unsatisfactory reviews but it felt a bit more than just "bad service" & maybe more like client profiling.

I particularly loved the assortment of wooden kitchen items that are both beautiful to display and completely functional. For example, the bamboo cutting boards in that come various shapes and sizes are so useful and would look gorgeous out in a kitchen counter. no need to stash them away in a drawer! The wooden theme continued with charcuterie boards, utensils, salad tongs, spoons & ladles, even an adorable chips, guacamole & salsa set. I want that! There are several pieces of furniture, couches and chairs that can be ordered in various fabrics. large decorative vases, botanical artworks, flower arrangements, mirrors and small occasional tables round o the offerings. So nice that Cannon Beach has a home decor store for those local and also for visitors. Service was welcoming and they let me browse at my leisure, just the way I prefer.

Since Astoria, the oldest city in Oregon, had a large settlement of Norwegian, Swedish and Finns the influence remains and a visit to Finn Ware really transports you. The vibrant Marimekko floral shopping totes with coordinating face masks had me at hello! Such a sign of the times. They have an assortment of striped shirts in a multitude of colors that just shout Nordic. Large selection of uniquely designed dish towers and dish cloths, I wanted them all! Of course there is a Christmas section with the most charming Santa's and gnomes in traditional red and white. Even a Christmas tree draped in ornaments for sale. Lots of items with colorful fish designed items: mugs, bowls, paper napkins, dish towels, cards. Make sure to check out the various Lutefisk mugs and their funny sayings. Along one of the walls is an assortment of Finnish licorice, Nordic treats, Icelandic chocolate and saltlakrits. We picked up several items for ourselves and Nordic friends. Definitely give yourself time to walk around and check out every nook and corner, there are treasures everywhere! Wish there was a store like this in Portland.

Marsh's Free Museum is the legendary home of Jake himself (you can find him in the back). The shop is an absolute treasure trove of curiosities. It features a mix of your classic beach-town souvenirs alongside more "not-so-typical" fare, like unique books, sweatshirts, and even knives. If you have some spare quarters, the old-school mechanical games are a must-play! The service here has always been great, super attentive and friendly. As for value, some things are a little expensive, but they also have affordable stuff if you look hard enough. They are not any more expensive than any other shop in Long Beach. I always make it a point to stop here every single time I'm in Long Beach. Whether you're just starting your trek down the strip or looking for the perfect place to end your journey, this spot is a PNW essential.

There are lot of curios, from taxidermy animals to old orchestreons. A lot of the amusing displays are in the back and in corners. I would say if you have small kids to be careful bringing them in as it seems like there are a lot of delicate items, from the piles of beautiful seashells in the front, to the porcelain items in the back. It is such a fun and unique place to visit, and the best part is that it's free! Although you will definitely walk away having purchased something.
