They had a lot of really cool artifacts. I liked that they said how much stuff was valued at. That's a cool way to show it. I also loved the bridge part as well as showing off how cold the water was. They said a lot that they were honoring the passengers although there were a few things that seemed a little gimmicky. It seemed a little bit like they were just capitalizing on the tragedy but that's sort of to be expected at a place like this. Overall it was super cool and informative. read more

Overall I enjoyed the museum. Definitely worth going. Pros: my favorite exhibit was the photos taken by Frances Browne. Stunning and haunting. Once you finally get inside it's well done and an enjoyable museum. I'd plan for about 2 hours to get through everything. Cons: they make you make a reservation time with your tickets. Our time was 4pm. I got a text at 3:50 saying to wait in our car until we got a text to enter the museum. We'd still be sitting in the car waiting if we hadn't just gotten in line. I never received a text. Also we didn't get into the museum until 5pm. 50 minutes of waiting in line outside and another 10 minutes inside before having our tickets scanned. It seemed as if no one knew what was going on or how to manage entry. For example everyone gets a ticket assigning you a real passenger with that passenger's story on it. At the end you can search for your passenger. Half the line didn't get the tickets until we asked. Maybe they were under staffed the day we went because everyone seemed overwhelmed. I liked the tilt of the ship experience, and seeing the survived va perished wall, and some other interesting statistics, but overall I don't think it was worth $35 per person. I'd price tix $20 at most. The video about the autistic kid who made a Titanic replica out of legos should be cut out, since it doesn't tie to the history of the actual ship. The actual Lego replica display & plaque was enough, and cool to see though. The biggest draw to the place was the grand ballroom's staircase, which you have to ask other visitors to take a pic of you cuz the staff can't. And no selfie sticks allowed. read more

My wife wanted to visit here ever since we started the journey that we were coming here for vacation. We purchased tickets online, but I originally purchased tickets for an attraction in. Branson, MO, not knowing everyone had a Titantic Museum. When you enter they ask how many people are in your group and show them your ticket. You then enter line and they provide you a card which is the character that you will be on the ship. The person is someone who was on the Titantic. Ultimately you will find out if they lived or perished at sea. I had Jack Thayer who was 17 years old who came on with his mother. They take a family photo and or photo of you and your group while waiting in line. You are then moved to the next phase in which you have to stand in a line of 3 people per row, which means that you will be squeezed together soon. Someone will tell you about the self guided tour and they remind you that on the main floor no photography is permitted. Only permitted to take phots on the top floor. We walked through on our own and they have many fascinating items to review on your tour through. You have the opportunity to review the different artifacts found at the bottom of the ocean of the titantic boat. They had necklaces and bracelets valued between 35-100K in 1912. I learned that all of the guests were either first class, second and or third class. First class paid what would be equivalent to 15k today for a ticket, second class would be 1,500 and third class, 1k for a ticket. Each class was separated into different quarters based on their wealthy status. They have anything from the team that designed the titantic, down to when they started to build it and the process flow that took place during that time frame. I learned that my person Jack Thayer survived with his mother. HIs father at 34 years of aged perished. Jack lived until he was 50 years of age. Attended and worked for the Univ of Pennsylvania as a finance person. Interesting facts about everyone on board that you learn and should know about this incident that happened more than 100 years ago. Oh how can I forget once you make it towards the end you will see a video of a young lad discussing his upbringing and finally finding something he liked. It was when he decided to build a life size Titantic boat out of legos, it took him 700 hours and 11 months to build it. He's traveled all over showcasing his work but his work lives forever at the Titantic museum in Pigeon Forge, TN If you like the Titantic then you will love this place. read more

If your into history and only if your into history should you go. This is basically a self guided tour and its $40 a person. I think $15 per person would be a fair price. Most certainly not worth it for us, we were through there in less then 30 minutes and that was with watching the short video. My husband wanted to check it out because he heard good things about it but even he said its way to expensive for what your looking at. read more

This museum has a lot of Titanic info- pictures, and an included audio tour. They have a few artifacts actually retrieved from the ship, plus a few recreations like the Grand stair case and the bridge. They also have a tank with 28F salt water so you can see how cold it really was. You are assigned a passenger at random. and at the end you find out if you lived or died. It's a self guided tour but you start with like 20-30 other people so there's a bit of a group moving through. It's crowded, but not unmanageable. It takes about an hour- I enjoyed it, my 9 year mostly did, but my 6 year old was bored to tears. Probably think twice if coming with younger children. read more

A lot of artifacts and rare items that can't be seen anywhere else. Very interesting museum. Tickets were ~$33 per adult, recommend buying online for the time slot when you want to visit. They will text you when it is time to get in line to enter the museum. If you buy tickets on site, they may be sold out for some time slots and you may have to wait. They have you wait in line to enter and let groups in at a time to help crowd control, however the first few rooms have so much information that they are so crowded it takes a long time to read through and see all the artifacts. It would be nice if the museum would decrease the number of tickets per time slot so that it is not so crowded. Museum was very interactive, they have an ice water bath to mirror what the water felt like on that night. They give you a card with an individual who was on the ship and there are a few opportunities to find them throughout the museum and find out their fate at the end. You are given an audio guide as you enter, which some stories had so much static I could not listen. When waiting to go into the museum they asked if you wanted a souvenir photo and you could pick it up in the gift shop at the end. They had the photos printed and lined up on the table at the end, but they expected you to pay $30+tax for the picture! When they already had it printed. This photo should be included within the price of admission if you are going to print them out anyway. Such a waste of paper. read more

This was our first time coming to this attraction - my group chose this to start our day after our breakfast. Due to a problem with their website to order tickets, we had to telephone them to secure our party's tickets before arriving. We arrived for a 12:30 reservation, and the place was extremely crowded - and we were informed that we should stay in the car until we received a text so that we could join the line. Unfortunately we never received that promised text - and thank goodness we did sit near the long lines for entrance. We joined a very large queue of people in front to receive an audio recorder for the exhibits. Once inside on the first floor there are multiple exhibits about the various parts of this trip - but absolutely no photos allowed due to the fact the items are still owned by a private collector. The main staircase is the recreation of the original and you can climb up or take an elevator. Upstairs photos are allowed, and there's a beautiful Steinway grand piano in a main room similar to the one that was on the ship. All in all my opinion is that it's not my choice to see - I humored my hubby for this. After a recent tragedy concerning Titanic and the loss of lives to view it, I actually think it's creepy to see these artifacts. Kind of walking through a graveyard, so to speak. Very pricey for a group. read more

If you like the Titanic movie then you will probably love this museum. If you are more into the history side of it you'll leave feeling disappointed and possibly offended. Tickets for this place are extremely expensive and there aren't any coupons from what we found. You have to buy tickets ahead of time because certain times will sell out. When you arrive you wait in a large lines outside to enter the museum. This took us over half an hour to get through from our scheduled arrival time. Inside the museum they attempt to explain the full story of the titanic from its conception to the aftermath of the tragedy. You'll find that there's a lot of wall art and not a lot of actual artifacts. Those artifacts recovered are often not large or interesting. A bracelet here, a key here, some plates that probably aren't from the titanic cause they're perfectly clean and clear. They do a good job of replicating the various areas of the ship but for me that just isn't impressive enough. The coolest items on display were a deck chair, a small piece of the grand staircase and a life jacket. Each person is assigned a titanic passenger upon entrance so instead of people respectfully enjoying the wall of survivors and death its people getting excited over whether they survived or not. The gift-shop just feels downright disrespectful. Let's commemorate this tragedy with stuffed animals, toy ducks and lollipops. The ice cream shop is also so disgusting. I'm sure if anyone from the tragedy where alive to see it that would leave a sour taste in there mouth. read more

First off my 8 yr old son LOVES the titanic so when we saw the outside of the building he was super excited. It looks like the titanic ship and there are plenty of photo opportunities. You have to reserve a time online prior to arriving. Parking is free. The staff was extremely friendly and dressed in character. They also have cool audio devices they give you to use for the audio tour of the museum. Super helpful for kids who are young as they have a kid version of all of the stories. You can take pictures inside and even on the staircase which other titanic museums don't allow. They have a gift shop with affordable souvenirs and titanic models. This one was way better than the one we went to in Orlando. Definitely interesting to see and hear about those on the titanic and even learn about where the survivors are now. read more

We liked this museum very much. We have gone to the one in Orlando and this had was quite different. I loved the concept of giving the customers a phone like device where you input the # of the station to hear for yourself only the story or information on what you are looking at so other can enjoy what they want without having to hear what you want to hear. I like that this museum honored greatly the kids who perished but wished they'd honor everyone the way they honored the kids. The second floor is the most beautiful part of the building and it's where you are allowed to take photos. We definitely do not under why we are not allowed to take photos in the first floor it really does not make any sense to us but we enjoyed this regardless and it's a nice difference attraction to enjoy read more

A unique exhibit that everyone should visit once in their lifetime, at a bare minimum. I have been to a few Titanic exhibits, such as the Las Vegas, and a few others which I can not think of. However, this is one of the best which I have attended. The location was effortless to spot from the road. Parking is plentiful considering half the parking lot was under construction as I am typing this. Supposedly, they are closed for the back half of January 2023 however. This location has a lot of passionate staff members working here. I had a few people coming up to me to talk about facts that I was unfamiliar with. Such as 3rd class was at the front and back of the shift. Also, men were separate from females and children. They also let me know what was true and false about the real ship versus the Titanic movie. However, James Cameron did a great job with his research, but it still had to be an entertaining movie in the end. Overall, I have known about this location for a very long time. I am glad to finally visit it and I am sure to visit it again in the future when I return to explore more of Pigeon Forge. read more

This is an amazing experience and a MUST-DO if you're in the Pigeon Forge area. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to take pictures on the first floor, I thought that was strange. The whole museum is awesome. You get to see things that make you feel like you have went back in time. You're given a boarding pass upon entry with a real passenger's name and info on it and at the end of the museum you can see whether your person survived or perished in the tragedy. You even get to walk the hallways of first and third class. The audio tour is amazing as well with stories from actual survivors! The water was freezing cold and it made me think how awful it would be to be submerged in that! Overall, this was an experience of a lifetime and I highly recommend it. read more

When exploring Pigeon Forge, there's a lot of (forgive the expression) "Tourist Trap" type experiences. Which is not to say these things are bad, they may just be a little cheap, or campy, or may have blown all their budget on a flashy facade. Hence, when we considered visiting the Titanic museum, I was hesitant, especially because it's not particularly cheap. But about 2 rooms into the museum, I was 100% confident that it was worth our time and money. This is a not a tourist trap or even a simple tourist attraction: this is a top-tier museum full of high quality artifacts, thorough information, and immersive themed rooms. I learned a ton about the Titanic, from its design to construction to its demise and beyond, including the many personalities that figure into its history. I LOVED the various rooms that were built to feel like you were on the ship itself. The degree of detail in the placards and the pacing of the experience itself was just right for me- enough to feel thoroughly educated, without getting bored or lost. Maybe the most memorable exhibit was the photos from the Priest onboard: remarkable images capturing an essentially lost moment in time. Very glad I visited and eager to recommend to others. read more

If you've never been to this museum before, I recommend it. It is very educational and insightful for first timers. However, if you have been here before and are returning for another visit, I do not recommend going. I have visited this museum multiple times during my childhood, and it does not compare now to what it was 10 years ago. So many cool features were taken out of the museum. The model of water flowing down the stairs in the 3rd Class bunk exhibit is no longer there; it is now a video of a woman playing a passenger on repeat. The interactive diving experience of examining the Titanic after it sunk is gone too. The model of how it is expected that the ship broke when sinking is gone. Even the giant iceberg that used to sit in the room where you feel the water's temperature is gone, which I could never understand. This feels a lot more like a tourist trap now with its outrageous wait times, prices, and focus on the movie. It's not worth what they charge you for. read more

I've always loved the movie Titanic. I watched it over and over so many times when it first came out. I actually bought the movie my younger years because I loved it so much so driving around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg always made me want to check out the Titanic here. We purchased our tickets online. It wasn't hard at all to find as you can see the big Titanic ship from the main road. There were plenty of parking. We received a text to stay in our vehicle until it's time, but we decided to go ahead and get out to walk around the outside. I thought the outside was pretty nice. I walked all the way to the top where the front of the ship was and got some nice pictures. I didn't like the process in going in. Since we purchased our tickets online, we had to pull our phones up to show them the QR code in our email. Well, that was a problem and we had a really hard time because we didn't have any reception up in these mountains. The people working also gave us the incorrect WiFi passcode so we couldn't even connect to the WiFi. I felt they should've had a better system in finding us since they should already have our names in the system. Maybe being able to pull us up by our confirmation number would've been a smoother process when we first walked up there. Once we finally were able to pull our email up, we got in and we got assigned an actual real passenger that was on the Titanic. At the end, you get to find out whether or not your passenger survived. What I liked most about this museum, is that it was self guided. We completed this in 45 mins lol. I know a lot of people spent about 2 hours here, but I'm not much of a museum person, and I pretty much just like looking at artifacts rather than taking a history lesson and listening to someone talk. I also liked how we got to actually feel how cold the water was for them. I thought that was pretty neat. On the first floor, they didn't allow cameras, but after the grand stairway, you can take pictures. They also take your pictures for you and give you an option to purchase them. This is a fun place to go with the family to escape from the heat. My son is a Titanic enthusiast, so when I saw this museum, I knew we had to go. The outside is built to half-scale of the ship, and he was so excited from the minute we drove into the parking lot. You have to make reservations to attend, and the fun thing is that they send texts like you are boarding an actual ship. Each person is given a ticket with a mini biography of an actual Titanic passenger, and the kid tickets also had a scratch off quiz to keep the kids entertained. There's an audio guide included with the ticket price, but I found that the signs were also informative and didn't use my audio guide (my 4 year old daughter wasn't given an audio guide, so she absconded with mine). Overall, the layout and amount of information/artifacts was very satisfactory. My kids liked seeing the replica of the grand staircase and also feeling how cold the water was when the ship sank. There's a whole room built for kids that includes a boat steering game and also ramps to run on to feel the different angles of the boat as it split and sank. There's also a huge Lego reconstruction of the Titanic, which has inspired my son to start designing his own Lego creations. We spent 2 hours there, and the kids had fun the whole time. Pictures are only allowed on the second floor, but they do take pictures of visitors on a green screen, so you can purchase a picture of your family getting ready to board the Titanic or standing at the grand staircase. The digital prints were $30, for $5 more, you can have a couple pictures printed and placed in a cardboard sleeve. read more

This was one of the best museums that I have visited in a while. It was filled with rich history that you wouldn't really know unless you intentionally studied the Titanic. Upon entry, each person received an audio player. We also received boarding passes with a Titanic passenger's name on it. We were told we had to find out if the person survived. Each exhibit had 2 numbers (one for kids and the other for adults). At each exhibit, you enter the number and it played a tiny bit of extra history for you to learn. We took our time as we walked through the museum reading as much as we could. I like that it was geared for child as well as adults. We couldn't take pictures until we passed the grand staircase. read more

While in Gatlinburg for a few days, wifey and I decided to check it out the museum. There is an impressive replica of the ship outside you can take photos of. It was cool to see all the original Titanic documents and replicas. You aren't allowed to take pictures in the museum besides the one big room where they tell you about the band, which I posted here. It's a mostly audio tour and you can pick and choose which stories to listen to which was cool. At the beginning of the tour they give you a random "boarding pass" which has the name of an actual titanic passenger from the 1912 voyage, and near the end of the tour they have giant walls with all the passengers and a brief history and if they survived. There was also a cool room (literally) where there was a titanic replica on water and you can feel the actual said temperature of water during the voyage. There were a lot of other cool things to see, don't want to ruin it all for you. The attraction was very informative and we enjoyed it. It was not a brief in and out walk through. We spent a good hour plus there and it was definitely worth the visit. If you're ever in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, definitely check this exhibit out. read more

This was amazingly informative and interesting. They have tons of real artifacts and use an audio tour to give you more information. Having a passenger to "follow" made the tragedy feel more real and closer. It didn't feel like a tourist attraction at all. I wish photos were allowed of parts that are clearly not at risk artifacts but their museum, their rules. The gift shop is nice but there are a few products I felt were insensitive. And it was so crowded in there it was hard to breathe. All in all, an amazing spot for a titanic enthusiast! read more

Overall, the museum was really nice and very well thought out in terms of planning the exhibits. The museum brought to life the stories of actual people from the Titanic, which made it a really emotional yet beautiful experience. We learned quite a bit and through exceptional exhibit design, actually felt like we were on board the ship. While this might not be the most kid-friendly attraction in Pigeon Forge, they did a great job of incorporating interactive stations throughout the museum for younger guests to enjoy! A wonderful museum attraction, with the perfect amount of educational/history and fun interactive things to do. It is really well done with a lot of interesting artifacts and anecdotes. They have a section where you can feel the water temperature the night Titanic sink as well as walk up the "top deck" to feel the slope of the ship before cracking. It is very well organized, a little pricey but we felt like at the end it was justified for the experience. Took us about 2 hours to go through the whole museum. read more

Took my 4 girls here while on vacation, they are ages 10,8,6 and 5. They all loved it! They were so interested in who they were given they spent the whole time looking for them. This is a world class, interactive history museum. I had serious doubts about the seriousness of a history museum in a tourist trap like Pigeon Forge. I was so wrong. It harmonizes the significance of the Titanic's history, the spectacular and commonplace individual stories of the passengers, and the somberness of the mass of lives lost at sea. And it somehow does all of that while being educational, interesting, and diverse. It's also fun for kids with many elements designed with them in mind. Last weekend, my mom and I went to the Titanic Museum. We saw pieces from the wreck, put our hands in 28 degree water, got to feel what it was like to be hanging off the boat as it was sinking, saw the inspired heart of the ocean Necklace, received a boarding pass with the name and story of one of the passengers and got to see if we lived or died at the end. It was so cool! read more
