Luf Children's Burn Camp. For many years, we held this gala at the Aquaturf Club, but in an effort to switch things up, this year's board wanted to try a new venue. I have to say, I'm very glad they did so, because my first experience with The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station was a very positive one. The building is gorgeous, the entry foyer and grand staircase are impressive, the banquet room can hold 300 and it is beautiful, the servers and bartenders were wonderful, the view from the big rear balcony is stellar, and the food was excellent. We had 130 guests who started off the evening with a big hors d'oeuvres station of tomatoes with mozzarella and basil, balsamic prosciutto and artichokes, and a hot crab dip served with crackers and rye toasts. The ribbons of prosciutto and artichokes were excellent, but the crab dip stole the show. When the main food stations opened up, there was plenty - a carving station with ham and turkey with salads and rolls to make a sandwich, and a penne station with terrific green and quinoa salads. I loved the sound system too -when our speakers took the podium, the sound was excellent and filled the room easily. We had a wonderful time at the Riverhouse, and I hope we hold next year's function here again.

The cost advertised was $59. Fine. Then they add tax AND service fee. Over $76 a person - then we find out the service fee does not go to the waitress or bus people for tips -it is a service fee that goes straight to the management or Riverhouse for the help and setting up. These were the words of the manager that checked us out. So we had to additionally tip our weight staff, which was worth it because they worked hard. They need to be more transparent ahead of time as to how much the full payment will be and what goes or doesn't go to the service staff. Very disappointed because of this we probably will not return even though the atmosphere and food was very good.

I called, they gave me a quote and several days to decide. Once I decided, they send me a contract through email and I mailed back the contract with the check. The place is amazingly beautiful. The room was decorated very nicely. The staff were all very young, probably high school students and greeted us outside in the cold. Once everyone was inside, they service our food. The scones were delicious, tasted home made and the jams and creams were equally tasty. The sandwiches were okay, a little dry but the deserts were just as good as the scones. My only beef about the whole experience was that they used Stash tea bags for the afternoon tea. I mean anyone could buy those tea from the supermarkets. If you go to a place designated for afternoon tea, you would expect at least some loose leaf teas allowing the customers to smell, appreciate, and enjoy all the different tea flavors. If they had loose leaf tea, it would elevate the whole experience ten fold. Also, they had some sort of punch on the side, with no explanation and the punch pitcher did not work so guests couldn't really enjoy it until the very end. The house can host two parties, one on the second floor and the other one on the main floor. The owners live in the same building. There are plenty of parking at the house and also across the street because the owners own that too.

She was always available to speak and no detail was too small for an instant response. The day of the shower went seamlessly! I arrived early to add personal touches, but the entire space was set up for me as soon as I arrived and the staff was so accommodating in helping with anything I needed. As the guests began to arrive, they helped to greet everyone and it was both causal and formal at the same time as the staff passed around breakfast pastries for our brunch and refilled mimosas for everyone to grab upon arrival. When it came time to move into the next room for brunch, one of the two waiters working with us that day made the announcement and helped to guide everyone to their tables. The tables were set up beautifully! We chose to have the "mismatched tea cups" instead of the white ones and every guest commented how adorable and unique they were. The waiters brought a box of assorted tea bags over for each person to choose and everyone loved it! Originally, I planned to use the silk flowers as the centerpieces for the tables, but we upgraded to fresh cut. Even the silk flowers were beautiful and elegant- Corrine has beautiful taste in every piece of decor. Throughout the entire event everyone kept asking how I found out about The Tiffany Juliet House. Everyone was so impressed with the amazing service, the attention to detail ( the light fixtures, the carpet, the window treatments, molding- everything is beautiful inside). I cannot thank Corrine and her team enough for helping to make my friend's bridal shower such a wonderful and memorable event for everyone. They went above and beyond in planning and executing a flawless day and I can go on and on about how spectacular everything was- the food included!

The cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres were a large variety of hot food trays- pastry wrapped asparagus, spinach pies, stuffed mushrooms, pepper steak, eggplant rollatini, and several charcuterie stations. The eggplant was exceptional. We also had a pasta station with two selections, and a great carving station with fork tender beef and a perfect turkey breast. Every employee we interacted with - at the coat check station, at the bar, at the food stations, and at the tables was polite and very professional. We were treated like honored guests and I had a terrific time.

I recently held an event here for a good friend of mine..stag party with 80+ guests. It's slim…read morepickin' trying to find an affordable event hall for a smaller, and lower budget shindig. The polish National Alliance owns this property..a big property at that, 2-3 acre lot. There is a large field to the renters disposal, a large parking area, outside seating, outdoor commercial kitchen, and then a good sized indoor hall (190 person capacity). The hall is well maintained and updated throughout. Great lighting, quality tables and chairs (all included with rental), a newer commercial kitchen, and two large bathrooms. Booking this event was pretty simple, the person in charge was easy to talk to and straight forward. All we needed was a date and a security deposit. The rental was 12pm-12am for $650 (more for a stag, wonder why..ha). Only gripe I had was the expectation to return it in the same clean condition we found it in...in a building with absolutely no cleaning supplies. I had to send someone out for paper towels and even soap for the kitchen..and we made due with a push broom to do a final cleanup. Oh and don't forget oven mits if you have an event here..luckily my group of guys have lead fingers.

Two days prior to this event, parents were informed that the event was being moved to the school gym because the venue double-booked! Are you kidding me?!? Here we are -- the students and the parents -- getting ready and excited for this 'big event' for the kids, held at a location away from the school where they get to dress up and celebrate their journey through childhood and bridge the gap into early adulthood. Then at the last minute we're all let down due to some scheduling mishap by an establishment that does this sort of thing for a living. Completely and utterly inexcusable. While I can understand that 'things happen' -- I really don't care what the excuse is -- you have an event planning business literally across the street from the local middle school and you choose to tell them, 'Ooops our bad... but YOU figure it out.' Unacceptable! YOU screwed up, find a way to make amends and make it work... period! I certainly expect our ticket money will be returned so that the school can use it to fund this event at the school.

It is an attractive, well-spaced and well-staffed facility that we found absolutely first-class when we attended a conference there last week. They have lots of room though it's not a giant facility: they can accommodate up to 600 people for celebrations and weddings and up to 850 for theater-style presentations. We found the seating comfy, plenty of clean restrooms, a very capable and friendly staff, and surprisingly tasty banquet food (served buffet style)., Honestly, don't know what more we could ask. There is plenty of parking in a below-ground garage as well as above ground lots. There are two hotels within walking distance. Really, we came away very impressed, and we have no hesitation in recommending the event center if you find yourself in attendance.
