It has taken months for me to sit and write this review but I knew I had to. Tita is AMAZING. When I bought my wedding dress I knew I would use the boutique's in house tailor. A few weeks after my dress arrived they told me they wouldn't be able to do any of my alterations. I was mortified, made several phone calls around and just couldn't decide on where to take my dress. Then I came across Tita's Atelier on Yelp. I am so happy I did! Tita was quick to answer all my questions. She set up an appointment for me to bring my dress in before she made any promises. Rita was really helpful and understood exactly what I was asking for. She met my deadline without a problem. I had the bottom of my dress hemmed along with the slit raised a bit. No one else will probably experience this, but I feel the need to share my experience with Maria. I requested a quote for hem and slit adjustment and she quoted "around 45". When I brought my dress in, her assistant quoted me 35 to which I negotiated to 30 and drew up my invoice. Maria then messaged me to ask me to pay 45, which I refused and she asked me to call her. When I did, she yelled at me and that is not an exaggeration. She claimed we had agreed on 45, but a quote is a quote until you meet in person because you don't know what the labor will be until you see the dress in person, is that not true? Or maybe she should have told her assistant the price she wanted. Regardless, I do not feel it was right of her to get so upset at me for an error I did not cause and because I am the customer. She finally screamed at me to pick up my dress because she didn't have time for this and hung up on me. I was literally shaking from shock. What kind of business owner takes frustration out on customers because they're busy? Isn't that a sign of a successful business and for that they'd have a more grateful heart? If this is how she handles stress then I hope her business slows down so that she learns patience. Now I have to find another seamstress to rush alter my dress. I'm sure her work is quality, but her customer service is ridiculously offensive and poor. And to her response that she ALWAYS treats her customers respectfully, that is a blatant lie unless she considers yelling and hanging up on someone a sign of respect. The professional way to handle this would have been to say "I'm sorry my assistant was misinformed. Would you consider meeting me halfway since 30 is way below my cost?" to which I would have happily acquiesced. Lying is a theme too because I was also accused of telling her assistant that I was given the price of $30, which I did not. Her assistant originally gave me the price of $35, as I mentioned above. I even have the screenshot of her accusation. Take your business elsewhere to someone who is kinder and more honest. read more

Long awaited review, but I inquired on having an alteration done here in February and was quoted a very affordable price for the amount of detail and work that they put into altering my wedding dress so quickly. I purchased my dress at Glamour Closet in LA while it was a bit too big, it also had some snags on the lace detail but it was no match for Tita's Atelier. The ladies here were so kind and helpful, I completely felt trusting with them when I left my dress here. I came back about a week later and my dress fit perfectly for my special day. I had seen good reviews for this place so I thought I'd call them to see if they'd be able to help me. I asked if they did alterations for polyester baseball jerseys. The lady on the other end did not seem to understand. After explaining a couple of times that it was a polyester jersey I was inquiring about, the lady on the other line rudely asked "what do you need?" I told her I needed the jersey to be altered slimmer and hemmed to be shorter. At that moment, all I heard was the click of the phone hanging up. Definitely recommend this place!! I wish I took a before and after picture to show how great the results were. I bought a pair of stretchy denim shorts online from Express. I loved them, BUT there was so much extra space in the back at my waist. I brought them in get hemmed. I tried on the shorts and showed her how I would like them. I requested they be done by Friday (I think 2 days from when I took them in) and she said it wouldn't be a problem. I got my shorts on Friday and they fit great now! I asked for her to do two stitches and she lined them up so great with the lining of the shorts! And this only cost $8!! Tita is my go to tailor. During quarantine, I went down a couple of dress sizes so nothing in my closet fit right. Instead of buying new clothes, I decided to get the pieces I loved tailored to reduce waste. So far I've brought around 3 pieces (one summer dress and two professional skirts with lining) to Tita and each time they've been impeccably tailored. Honestly they look like they've come off the rack but better since they're tailored of course. The prices are more than fair for Tita and her team's expertise. I can't say much about her speed in turning around since I always tell her I am in no rush to have my pieces back. For my no rush job orders, I usually get quoted an estimated 2 week turnaround. read more

PERFECT FOR ALL MEN'S ALTERATIONS! I came into Tita's Atelier based on her reviews on yelp. She gained my business purely through the warm and welcoming customer service! Having my alteration completed perfectly was an added bonus! Tita helped me alter my suit for my wedding. She tailored my pants and also insisted that I didn't adjust the suit coat at all because it was already perfect (Because I insisted and she declined, I knew she wasn't trying to take advantage). The main thing I came in for was a custom cut for my vest (waist coat). I purchased a vest from JCPenny and requested she alter it to be a lower and more rounded neckline. After reading online and hearing from other Tailors that it COUDN'T be done, Tita took a look and said it was NO PROBLEM, she could do it! After a quick turn around in alterations, I came into pick up my suit and it was PERFECT!!! I am 100% satisfied and would recommend Tita's for all men's attire. I had to get a dress hemmed for my maternity photo shoot and now that Tita's in a new location, it's even closer to my house which made it so convenient. I walked around the corner to drop it off and it was a great experience. Everyone in the store was wearing a mask and it smelled super clean in there. I tried on the dress so she could measure how much needed to be hemmed and it was ready within the week for $14. My husband has also entrusted Tita to completely reline one of his sports jackets and she did an amazing job, especially with trying to match the lining colors to the original color. After getting my dress hemmed, I can see why Tita has nothing but positive reviews here on Yelp. On the day that I came, I was able to meet Tita. She was very patient and nice and asked how short I wanted my Maid of Honor dress. She gave me some recommendations in regards to if I was wearing heels with the dress and if she should make it shorter. The length that I chose was perfect. It showed a little bit of my feet with the heels but was a little long with the sandals. Tita asked when I needed the dress as she can do it in as few as 3 days depending how many people are asking for alterations. The stitching at the bottom was even and seamless. For cutting off 5 or so inches for 2 layers on the dress was $35. When I received the dress, a nice woman steamed the dress for me and placed it in a plastic bag so that it wouldn't get wrinkled. The dress stayed like that for a solid month and a half until the wedding. If you ever need dresses altered, come to Tita's for good service at a reasonable price! read more

I found Tita's Alteration services on a last minute request. I needed to fix my dress before my Hawaii trip. She took me in with a couple days to spare and even let me pick up my dress after hours. Her work was spot on. I had another last minute trip and needed a few inches off my dress. The primary purpose of this review is to let anyone out there know, that if you have a suit that needs some work, Tita can help you! A majority of her reviews seem to talk about dresses and very little about suit alterations. Initially, I wasn't sure how things would turn out when I had called prior to dropping off my garments, but the finished product fit so perfectly and I couldn't be happier with the results. Tita, understood exactly what I was looking for in a fit, and even fixed a pair of pants I previously had altered elsewhere. The amount of work I needed to be done for that suit was no 'walk in the park' by any means and yet with Tita's expertise, you wouldn't be able to tell anything was altered. Found Tita's through Yelp. I needed to have my halter top dress alter for an event next Saturday. Came by around 9:30a, she was busy fitting a bride-to-be. After making eye contacts with me a couple of times, she said hi, asked what I needed, I had to inform it was my first time so not sure how she works. She then asked me to come back about 2 hours later....I did, because of the raving reviews. After we talked about what I'd like to do for 5 minutes, she said she could do it but I'd have to find the fabric. I did go try and find the fabric for my dress's alteration...at Michael's and Walmart. I know, Michael's doesn't have the kind of fabric I'd need and Walmart was limited. Unfortunately, I don't have time to go to Fabric District downtown to find something that matches better so won't be coming back to Tita. I'm going to try another place tomorrow, who can help me to potentially find fabric for my dress and fix it in time for the event.
