We were there on a Saturday late afternoon and it was not crowded. We sat at the bar. Service was excellent and the options for beer were extensive. You can sample / taste without charge. The beer menu is creative and sound leaving little guessing to how each of them would taste. I tried and purchased the Blood Orange Cider and it was one of the best ciders I've had. I also had a 5 oz pour of the "Inch of Dust 2024" which was by far my favorite. While 10% ABV the description was spot on and I loved it. It finished sweet so not one I would drink a lot of at one time but the 5 oz pour was perfect for me. My husband had IPA and enjoyed both of the options he had. They appear to be dog friendly based on seeing two dogs there while we were inside. There is ample parking and seating with a casual vibe. We saw another couple playing a game at the bar. The industrial look / seating can be off-putting and a bit uncomfortable for some but we really did not find it challenging. The entire place is also very clean including the bathrooms. Went to the Octoberfest tonight. The Chardon Polka band was performing outside. I tried the Blackberry Burst Cider and it was very flavorful and refreshing. There are several beers to try and plenty of folks were trying them. There were several food trucks there tonight. I ate at El Catrin. I had the Asian chicken taco with Chips and Guac. The taco was very tasty and had a lot of veggies. It was so good and I went back for a second one. The Guac was fresh and chunky. The chips were light and crispy. A Greek Food cart is out front and I had an authentic Greek Gyro $10-delicious! The Raspberry Cider was refreshing and little sour and delicious. A lot of covered outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating for a crowd. The service was excellent and tasters are available at no charge. Been to combustion many times but had to stop in for their 7th anniversary!!! Congratulations guys on 7 strong years. They always have fresh beer with flavors to fit any pallet. This is place to be if you're a beer lover and looking for good delicious pours in Eastern part of Columbus. Located in pretty awkward location and not much options for parking, this is definitely a hidden gem to explore in terms of beers, vibes and their service. I stepped in for a beer and fill my growler- top notch experience. They poured the growlers, offered me the beer and even asked me if I wanted to try anything else. Their Octoberfest and Hazy IPA are not only award winning but Awesome. The Combustion IPA is perfect but I only tasted it. Blue Print and East come Easy go are on my bucket list for next time. We've been to Combustion several times and have always enjoyed our time while there. While we may not be a big fan of the brews on tap, we've always been fans of the live music and the food trucks that they offer on the weekends. (Currently, there is no live music though due to COVID). During our last visit, I did enjoy the Mayflower Macchiato! If you like stouts, you should definitely check this drink! Combustion has great social distancing protocols in place - mobile ordering for drinks/pickup, taped signs for social distancing, required masks, etc. They have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. On our last visit, we had an entire room to ourselves. The room also had a dartboard to enjoy. During previous visits, I had noticed a little play area for kids - but did not see it during our most recent visit. I really hope that Combustion brings live music back soon. I really enjoyed the live music and feel that it really enhances everyone's experience while at Combustion! Again, I really enjoy the different food trucks that they have in the parking lot on the weekends too. Great tasting beer here. Favorite beer was the coffee infused one. They have a nice selection of in-house beers that I would like to try more of. It's a nice space and I'm sure the patio is nice when the weather is warmer. I applaud their safety protocol here. All employees wear masks and tables are getting sprayed down after a party leaves. That would be the downside, as well. You cannot sit at the bar. The bar area has full plexiglass tables areas like a hockey penalty box. There are no waiters in the dining area and all orders have to be done through the website. You order your drink and walk up to the bar to pick it up. I am all for safety during COVID but was a little surprised at the setup. I've been to quite a few establishments that are more relaxed as far as COVID. I've been virus free (knock on wood) so I believe a more relaxed model works. I'm looking forward to coming back when the weather is warmer. The service I did get was great. Ample parking in their lot. Great brewery that's hidden deep in a residential area in Pickerington. I'm looking forward to coming back to sample more brews. read more

Cute tuck away den like space. Came during a calm Sunday afternoon. Grabbed a nice beer (it's a cider lol) but they had a vast selection. Good selection of craft beers, none of which that I tried were overly hoppy. Both of the new Apricot items were really good on a hot day. We had our dog with us and sat outside in the late afternoon and it was pretty toasty, not a lot of shaded options or air moving at that time of day in July. I generally like stouts, and the options they had were two very strong bourbon stouts and a low percentage nitro milk stout.. none of which struck my fancy, so I went for something new. Absolutely LOVE summers, great weather, and Combustion! Could not have asked for a more perfect night for Combustion beer and the Zappata's food truck! Combustion was rolling with FOUR different Ciders on tap (rare), and Zappata's food truck is AMAZING! Cool night to enjoy the GREAT live music and dinner outside on Combustion's patio. We rolled with the Cherry Cider and Blueprint (my personal favorite) to wash down the Zappata's Special and Ohio State specialty tacos from the food truck. PERFECT combinations. If Combustion kept more ciders on draft more often, I'd be able to hang out more as my wife does not drink beer. As always, Combustion had the line for the draft beer moving smoothly and quickly. Recommend you open a tab if you plan on more than two trips for icy cold refreshment. Food took a little while, but it was hot and fresh and well worth the wait. Attended the 5th Anniversary at Combustion. It was a great crowd. We wasn't able to score a seat inside but said along the rail just next to the band. Which worked out. We were there to check out the band Betty Bangs. Didn't try the beer (which is odd for a brewery). I instead enjoyed the mule. It was delicious. I have been frequenting Combustion for a good while now. I don't know how I missed giving it a Yelp review. Cool establishment and cool atmosphere. The only complain is the seating. They industrial look is great for aesthetics, but bad for comfort. The outdoor seating is a very nice touch and one of my favorites. They have a great seasonal selection of brews, including a great variety of mixed drinks. They have food, but I think it's more snack fare. There is generally a food truck parked out front, so I have never left there hungry. They host line music and trivia nights which is a blast. Combustion is one of my favorite craft beer taprooms in Southeast Columbus. Their beers are solid, the service is excellent, and you have access to food on-site. (They let you bring in food from Romeo's Pizza next door) The building itself is nicely renovated, comfortable, and nicely spaced out. Many craft beer taprooms these days are just converted warehouses but you can tell that the owners of Combustion put a lot of effort into designing their space. BrewDog in Canal Winchester is the big dog in town but they're oftentimes busy and crowded. The chill relaxed atmosphere at Combustion fits my tastes better. read more

We were in Pickerington for a birthday party and decided to stop here for a couple of beers. It's a cool place with a lot of outside seating and they had a food truck while we were there. Upon entering the staff greeted us immediately and explained how to order. They are extremely Covid conscious. We sat at our table, scanned the QR code, picked and paid for our beers on our phones. It alerted us when they were ready to pick up at the bar. I hope they keep this system, it's so easy. The beers were excellent. We ordered a hazy IPA and a wonderful espresso stout. Combustion is a pretty good brewery. It's been around a few years and has gotten better. There's a large variety of beers on tap. It has a style for almost everyone. They let you have quite a few samples. I had the Blueberry Ale. It's about $6 for a pint. This has a subtle blueberry taste. It's not as sweet as you would expect. This does control the hoppiness of it. A lot of beers have a fruity flavor. They seem to have more like these than heavier ones. It has a small food menu. There's light stuff like grilled cheese and pretzels. A food truck is also here a lot. They have one most weekends. It might be as good as Loose Rail. That would be the closest competitor. I love Combustion and it's inviting, family friendly atmosphere. We probably go to Combustion at least once a month and always have a great experience. The bartenders + staff are extremely friendly. They have yummy beer and always are at work at the next batch to put on tap or put in their convenient to-go beer fridge. I typically don't like ciders because they're too sweet, but love the picktown cider that they have! They have an indoor and outdoor space. Great brews! We absolutely loved the blueberry ale. The menu looked great but we ended up only staying for drinks. Typically there is also a food truck outside but we came earlier in the day. Place is bigger than I thought it would be, super clean, and great for bigger groups (that maybe don't want to sit at the bar). We enjoyed playing some of the board/card games that were available. This place is ~20-30 minutes away from Columbus. I think they have a great set up, with both indoor and outdoor seating availability. This is one of my favorite local places and I always recommend it! We come here a lot for food trucks and beers. This visit was for the same, accept they were having a holiday gathering. I'm giving 3 stars this time because of the crowd control and parking. Parking was horrible although it is paved with spots people seem to create their own spot, I would recommend going early or parking in the street. The crowd was another story, no where to sit and I'm pretty sure they were well above fire code capacity, this is not the first time I've been there that this has happened with over crowding. My recommendation to Combustion would to have a reservation list for inside seating when you advertise special events. I love Combustion! I've been visiting and bringing friends and family since they opened, and I'm thrilled to have a brewery and taproom so close to home. As a dark beer lover, Combustion really shines. Dark Black Past is our favorite, but there's always a milk stout, imperial stout, and/or coffee-inspired beer on tap as well. Flights are a great way to branch out and enjoy all of the rotating seasonal options. Order a Bavarian pretzel with dipping sauces, bring your deck of cards, and hang out for a great weekend afternoon or weekday evening experience! Having both inside and outside seating areas is a great option, as is the wide variety of food trucks and live music that they host. I saw this building years ago and I couldn't even remember what was in it, but I remember thinking that it's a neat building and has potential. I love what Combustion has done with it! What a great space with the right decor, ample seating, and nice wide open spaces in between the areas. The bar area is really neat, as is the side room with the tables. There is plenty of outdoor seating if you're into that sort of thing too. I was able to try a couple of beers I wanted, but they were out of most of their most popular beers due to the recent holiday (we were there on July 5). Therefore, I'll need to go back and try the others. When I return, if the beers are all back in place, I can see upgrading this place to a 5 star! As for their food menu, I can only speak on the dish I had. A grilled cheese doesn't sound very special, but their double decker on sour dough in and of itself is worth my return! It was delicious and so good, I told my wife about it afterward. I enjoyed the Thursday night trivia and would do that again, as well as check out other events they have. read more
