I was having trouble accessing my account online, which is a must since I use bill pay. I couldn't get through to a real person and the chat robot just kept saying the same thing over and over. Which in no way addressed my issue. Trying to talk to a real person on the phone also went to a robot. I went to the branch at Tatum/Shea (my first time since that moved). I was showed a machine to make a deposit of over $1000. There were no tellers booths. I spoke with an employee, but decided to wait about making my deposit. I contacted the employee by email, which she had told me was the best way to contact her to make an appointment to come in and have a bank employee witness me making the deposit. I never heard back. A week or so later, I called and got the robot to put me through to a real person, who told me someone would be there to assist with my deposit. I was able to make the deposit with an employee. I would NEVER make a deposit without a witness. The employee counted the money and then put the stack of bills in the machine. The machine correctly counted the money. However, machines can make mistakes/ bills can stick together. A few years back I asked for $200 from a banking machine and the machine gave me $400. Today, two weeks later I received a text message stating I have appointment tomorrow at the bank. I never made an appointment and would not found it acceptable to make the appointment 2 weeks out. There will be other occasions when I will need to make a cash deposit. So I am thinking maybe as much a hassle it is to change banks, I need to find a bank that has real people, and if I need to make an appointment, it wouldn't take 2 weeks to get an appointment. It took many weeks to get any kind of answers or motion. That should have been my first clue. I became ill, so I excused the delay. Josh reassured me that my business loan would go through, So I sent the $400 fee. I began to realize that nothing was happening, with constant excuses of being in meetings, or out of the office. This is when I demanded that something be done with the loan process to move forward. This is the only location in Tucson and it also has a 24-hour outdoor ATM and drive-thru windows. They've been around since 1929, so if you would rather keep your money at a not-for-profit institution in your own community (instead of handing it over to giant corporate banks which invest in things that may or may not align with your values)...check out your friendly local credit union!
