Stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night. After passing by 3 different doors with arrows that pointed to the next one, we walked into the bar/tavern. Obviously not where we wanted to be, we asked for directions. We walked thru the bar to the back into a foyer, two rights, a left, a left, a right, a right, two lefts and a right we walked thru glass doors and into another bar area. We had a reservation and were sat at a table on the elevated area. I ordered mozzarella sticks for the starter. The oil needs changed. For my entree I got the cheeseburger. Added cheese, lettuce tomato and onion. It was standard. Fries were okay - oil needs changed. Overall this place was okay, was in between 2 - 3 stars so defaulted to two. read more

Comfortable setting for a bar and grill. Food was excellent and the service was attentive. My only complaint was that generally speaking, everyone at my table considered their meals a bit on the slaty side, but not overly so. To give context, our group consisted of four people. My mom and step dad are in their mid 60's and we around 40. We are avid foodies that travel significantly and try restaurants all over the country and abroad. We were really excited to try somewhere different within 30 miles of home! So here goes... Titlow is a very old place with minor subtle updates that have been done over the years keeping a very cool historic feel. While some modern features are present it is largely a step back in time. The service wasn't absolutely terrible, we were a little early for our reservation, but still seated immediately. We also received our food quickly, maybe too quickly? Otherwise, the service could have definitely been improved. We told our waitress multiple times how the bill would be split. She still brought out one check and then got the orders wrong when asked again to separate. Once ordered, other than to bring food out, she only checked on our table 1 time. Everyone at the table had to ask for refills, even though drinks were completely or practically empty. I never received a refill at all. The food was disappointing! Out of everything ordered, only the pizza came out properly hot. To start, we had asked if the spinach & artichoke dip was good and a decent size ($22 is somewhat steep compared to the same dish at other similar restaurants generally $12-16) We were told it was, then we were surprised to see it come out in a rather small bread-bowl. Likewise it was completely missing anything resembling artichokes and was more like a creamy melted cheese soup with a few spinach leafs and lacking any flavor. 3 of us ordered wedding soup. It came out lukewarm at best. The flavor was ok, but underwhelming. It was simply broth with one or two meatballs and acini de pepe. It had no spinach, or anything else. It did come, with oyster crackers. My meal (pictured) was ok, edible, but again lukewarm and a bit bland, it was almost like it could have been better, but was either rush cooked so it couldn't absorb flavor or watered down. The dirty decaying stem end of the broccoli wasn't even cut off as you can see in the photo. 2 other's pasta dishes (seafood & chicken parm) the pasta wasn't fully cooked, possibly al dente, but lacked flavor. The red sauce on the parm was even somewhat spicy in a negative way. The last person of our group ordered buffalo chicken bites which were decent enough and a stuffed crust pizza. The pizza was the best and most flavorful thing on the table. Having tried upwards of a hundred plus pizza places, thought the pizza was ok. It was both good and bad at the same time. It appeared cooked well until you tried to pick it up and it flopped down. Usually this means it's being cooked too fast at too high of a temp, leaving a very thin darkened layer, but the dough isn't cooked all the way through and sloppy. The flavor wasn't my preferred taste, a little too garlicky, with a touch of basil or something similar. others thought it was ok. General consensus, for the quality, and taste of the food we don't recommend and probably will not come back unless something significantly changes. We would much rather have food take a little longer, be cooked properly, and also be flavorful. Perhaps we should have stuck to other items on the menu? While most of the portions were fair, none of it was good enough to justify our bill (around $170 for 4 people, not including tips and should note, none of us had alcoholic drinks) Thanks for reading! read more

A Uniontown staple with history! The ambiance is almost divey but if you're sat by the large fire place you'll have more of a romantic or airy experience. We sat near the bar i a small booth surrounded by antique decor and articles of local history on the wall. Really a fun feel to the place! Standard American menu can be expected. I can only speak to a lunch time experience and the food was great! My partner got a grilled salmon salad and had no complaints. He enjoyed their house made balsamic dressing. We shared an order of onion rings which is a dish I usually don't care for much. However, I would return just for the onion rings! Batter was great, crispy and didn't have any dirty grease flavors. The onions didn't pull out on the first bite either leaving only hunks of batter. Fries were fresh cut & my turkey Rueben was everything I could have wanted. We did not leave disappointed. Service could stand for improvement but overall did not negatively effect our experience enough for me to elaborate on it. read more

Hit or miss for us. Service is slow. Food is mediocre for the price. $14 for a pretty small salad (no meat). The chicken and linguine was bland and the banana peppers served with it were so bitter and mushy. Their burger night is decent, but you pay for every topping. The Cajun fries appetizer was different than expected, but seasoned well and had a nice amount of cheese. The fresh cut fries were a little undercooked for our taste though. Not a very good experience. We ended up having two different servers, neither knew what the other was doing until we clarified that we already had put our drink order in. After getting the drinks figured out - which took at least ten minutes to arrive (three bar drinks, four waters), drinks were severely lacking in booze, we ordered the wedding soup. Having been to Titlows in the past, we all knew to order the delicious wedding soup. Well, this time the flavor was just as good, but soup was barely room temperature. One person at our table let our server know that all three of us were served barely warm soup. The response was basically oh sorry, I'll let the chef know...no offer to take off the bill, just excuses about being swamped in the restaurant. Whatever. Two at our table ordered salmon, neither one liked it. Way too salty. Server brought one main dish with the wrong side - had to ask three times to bring the correct side dish! Overall, not what we've come to expect from Titlows, very disappointing service, server kept leaving and making excuses about being too busy, blah blah blah. $107 before tip for lousy mixed drinks, screwed up orders, over-seasoned food and lackluster service. What a unique restaurant located in downtown Uniontown. I love the historical significance of the building and the interior design. Definitely felt like I was in a different time-period. I was able to sit right next to the gas fireplace on a chilly day which definitely enhanced my experience. The food ordered was delicious (salmon was wow) and the the beer was good too! Wow what an experience !! Service sucked !! She complained about doing separate checks cause it was to difficult for her . Said she'd try but couldn't guarantee anything . I asked for extra ranch dressing 3 times and she ignored me . She brought out the wrong dinner for a friend . When we got our checks one guy got charged for a soup and salad he never ordered , he asked her about it and she said their is nothing she can do about it that she did the best she could !!!!! To top it all off she included the gratuity of 20% to our checks which I have never not left a tip no matter how bad the service but this would of been the first time !!! One of my favorite places to eat at in Uniontown. They have a large seating area. If you like old, I mean 18th or early 19th century, you will love this place. I think it's amazing. We used to go here all of the time for someone's birthday dinner. The food has always been amazing. I recommend if you're seeking a good place to find to eat and relax is here. We were in Uniontown for a couple of days to see the two wonderful Frank Lloyd Wright houses nearby. One evening, a Tuesday, based on social media reviews we tried the Titlow (no jokes, please!). The restaurant and adjoining grill are in what was the historic Titlow Hotel. The setting is very cool, especially for Uniontown, which in other ways seems to be mostly suburbs and chain casual and fast food restaurants. I enjoyed my burger and fries, and my wife thought the Pittsburgh cheese steak was okay. We definitely liked the $3 craft beers that were on special that night. However, I made the mistake of not checking my bill carefully. Turns out the waitress didn't give us the 50% off special on the cheese steak that was advertised for Tuesday nights and also didn't give us the advertised 15% off for putting out cell phones in a bag. No big deal, as the meal was still a relative bargain, but the lack of attention to the promised special prices left a slight bad taste in our mouths. read more

Everyone liked their food and no one complained! On a trip to see falling water and asked hotel desk some ideas for dinner. We decided here, as we had eaten a large lunch and didn't want to throw a huge Italian dinner on top! My son had pizza (recommended by hotel desk even though she'd never had it. It was good. Slight crisp to bottom, just enough cheese without overdoing it). Son #2 had kid's chicken bites. I tried one. Impressed they were NOT from a bag. These were lighted breaded, homemade and fresh. I am guessing the same breading as their chicken parm. I had the Pittsburg cheesesteak. Lighted toasted bun was ideal. It was good, but not fantastic if you are a cheesesteak fan. My husband had crab cakes. He was tired and just said they were "good". I didn't try them. The building is historic, so if you like history you'll love the ambience of this place. You can read about the owner of Titlow Hotel and his history--left me curious about what happened to the actual building over time! Drawbacks? Parking. We drive a suburban and parking was a bit of a challenge even with the lot next door. Also, there are three doors to go in. Being from "out of town" we didn't know where to go. A party was happening in one room and we were just told that and left to figure it out. Luckily amlocal was near and said "here's the owner, ask him...". I'm so immature. I can't say the name of this restaurant without chuckling, giggling, or smirking. Anyway, the food is good and they have a wide selection ranging from steaks to Italian. You can pretty much get anything you want. I had the crabcakes, but they were waaaay too salty for me, but did have a lot of crabmeat. Full bar and great service. So I went in here with the intention of getting pizza...well, I didn't see pizza on the menu (flatbread was there but not anything else or I just missed it). Well I instead order the Philly Cheesesteak. Don't judge it by the pic. That Philly was AMAZING!!!!! Bread was soft, flavor was everywhere. And I added jalapeños to add some spice. The fries were fresh...just came out the grease fresh. If it wasn't such a shame, I woulda ordered one to go. We walked out and left 20 dollars on the table. 1- called to make reservations and we were sat in the tavern. 2- our waitress (and another ) wore their masks around their necks. We went there to eat with my dad and grandmother when we were in town on Sat. March 5. The owner came outside, stopped traffic and helped us park since my grandmother uses a walker and the parking lot was a little ways from the door..not bad but too far for her. He even offered us a tour of the place..he is a great business owner. The server, whose name I forget, was super and our food was also very good. We frequented this establishment both nights while we were in Uniontown for a white water rafting trip. The first night we ate at the bar and got their hot wings and potato skins and a few beers--an enjoyable experience. The second night we returned earlier for a full sit down dinner and sat in the front room, beside the main bar. I had an excellent piece of fish, which always amazes me when being so far from the coast; Not only was the fish well cooked and prepared, but it was impressed at how fresh the fish seemed. On that note, their seafood menu is pretty impressive. The ambiance of this establishment, being in what appears to have been an old mansion, is very interesting with the way the various bars (3 in all, I believe) interconnect. While having dinner last night, the owner began to yell at and berate our server. If he had something to say to her, he should have taken her out of the dining area. While I'd like to commend her for her professionalism and ability to keep her composure, he should be ashamed for the way he talked to her. I wasn't the only patron that saw and heard. If he speaks to her like that in front of customers, I can only imagine how he speaks to his employees in private. I will not be returning to this establishment, nor will I ever recommend it to friends. He should really be more mindful of his surroundings and who's paying attention. read more
