I've been living in the area since the early 90's and have had several experiences with various waste collection companies. These guys (Titus) have by far been the best. The pick-ups are consistent, they place the trash cans back where they got them from (big deal for me... the worst thing for me is having our driveway blocked since we don't have a safe shoulder for me to pull over to and get out of the car to clear the driveway), and they are reasonable in terms of price. Their workers are very nice and friendly. The last guy we had (Mike?) would consistently say hi to us and our kids whenever we were outside, and treated us more than just a stop. We have a new person now (starting this past year) and he also has a good demeanor... so I'm guessing they are careful about who they hire at the company. That all being said, things can go wrong however (with everyone I've had service with). The worst thing that has happened was our regular refuse guy was sick and they had a substitute who missed our pickup. A 1 minute call took care of that (they called the driver and he returned to take care of our stop within an hour). They are a family run business and it shows. read more

the first year or two every thing was great. then the driver would would just drive by my can on the 2nd pickup day, like it didn't exist. so eventually I began calling on days when he didn't pickup. this Appearently didn't sit well with the driver, so he became angry and started vocally complaining to anyone he would see outside my household. After about a year and half of paying for 2 day pickup but only receiving one unless I called to complain, I finally gave up and changed services. They made no effort to rectify the situation or remedy the attitude of the driver. read more

Consistency is all you can ask for in a trash service and they do it very well. Even offer bulk pick up for a flat fee.

We had Titus Trash service for a few years and it was fine ( pickup up twice a week). They take the bags out vs dumping the bin in like others do. Which has always been our issue because we have a baby and when the really stinky diapers hit we toss them in the bin to get them out of the house ( if you know you know) On to the reason why we canceled their service ( because we dealt with everything in the bottom of the bin living there until we bagged it and sometimes they were great and would take an extra bag to the side if we had guests or worked on the house and had a bag full of heavy items and don't get me started on how they would leave our bins in the road, but recycling does that too so it might just be the job lol ) My daughter and I were able to catch them picking up the trash ( she loves trucks and I love her so I was super excited) so we have the door open and we are clapping and so excited and this grown man starts yelling at me... he asked why my trash is always so heavy ( I don't know my husband does the trash I do everything else lol) I apologize and say my husband does the trash and I'll talk to him ( thinking we can go back to having it be a fun experience for my daughter and he kept yelling at me about how my bags are always heavier than everyone's else's ( diapers?) and that it's bullshit ( mind you my neighbors are walking by with their young kids to go wait for the bus stop, I felt bad that they had to hear/see a woman and her child get yelled at and I was so embarrassed) so then after he's done scolding me for marrying someone that would fill up the trash bags he says that he won't take them next time if they are this full ( he does this all the time where he will leave a bag because he thinks it's to full and we will have to break the bags into two bags) he then THROWS our trash can on my lawn and goes to the truck! ( I thought my trash can being tipped over randomly was just the wind but not this time!!) I believe he thought our bags would be super heavy because I ran out of garbage bags and had to use a construction bag but it was just kitchen stuff, probably two kitchen bags worth. I called the company and told him and like the other times that I called because he wouldn't pick up a trash bag then I'll go try to pick it up ( I'm not like a bodybuilder or anything) and if I can pick it up with one arm I'll call to ask what the new issue is and they will say they will deal with it or they send someone to come pick up the bag and then they will apologize so we have stayed with them. This time they said there wasn't anything they could do that he is the driver for this area and they are sorry that he spoke to me like that. I canceled right there and will apologize to my neighbors that their kids had to witness that sign of disrespect. I called the other trash company and they are not only cheaper they bring their bins for us to use and have trucks that dump the bins so I won't have to have a stinky diaper in the bottom of my bin for weeks!!! read more

Ray was our guy for years and then we moved. He was a very hard worker. The other Titus trucks had 2 guys and Ray was always alone, no helper. Doing the driving and the loading of trash. He was being treated unfairly in my eyes but he didn't seem like one to complain. read more

Titus has been providing great service to our street for several years and my neighbors and I have been very pleased. During the several day of snowy weather, the website was updated with the latest service information. The bulk pickup rate is very reasonable as well. read more

I have been a customer of Titus Trash Service for 14 years now and they have done an excellent job. I have never had a problem. I believe I'm one of the first clients on the route because my trash is removed like clockwork (7am) on pick up days and the driver always puts my trash can with lid upright and neatly at the property line out of the street. I don't lease a trash can from Titus and I'm still using the same undamaged trash can covering these 14 years. I am a happy customer and will continue to use the services provided by Titus Trash. read more

I discontinued pick up with my previous trash hauler because they were going through my trash. I signed up with Titus hoping for a more trusted company. Now the Titus guys are going through my trash!!! They seriously throw my bags into the truck and then proceed to rip open the bags and fish through them! I started out using Titus Trash (via Angie's List) about 2 years ago and have not been unhappy. I live in a home that is neither serviced by Montgomery County Trash nor in a homeowner association where trash is taken care of by the fee. It was so unusual for me to even consider the county not providing trash service that I really was bewildered. Titus's staff really helped me understand what I needed to look for in a trash provider, what their rates are, and how to compare. I don't put out a lot of trash and often have fewer that the maximum number of bags (4 bags per week for my household). On the occasions that I've had more than my maximum (after parties and spring cleaning), they have never expressed a problem with picking up more trash. They also provided (at the time I signed up) the option of using their trash cans (and paying for them) or providing my own. I really do trust them. They didn't try to "sell" me on their services when I first spoke with them and have not had any problems. They are reliable. read more

We have used Titus Trash Service for many years, and my parents used them years ago when I was young. They have always been reliable and professional. Recently, I returned to our farm after having been out of the country for the majority of the past two years. We had a caretaker on the farm who generated minimal trash. When we returned, we did a major clean up of our basement, closets, garage, etc. and generated about 15-20 large bags of trash which we put on the curb. Although they did not take them, I contacted the company and explained to them our situation. They responded that they would have the truck return to pick them up the first thing the following morning. I have been using Titus Trash Service forever, and at my previous address the guy who was picking up my trash was GREAT. Then, I loved, and I used them again, and it's all about the driver. This one is a LUNATIC.....like not normal. He does crazy stuff, like putting my trash can in the trash, and then saying the trash can was not there when he came (like someone is going to steal a trash can!). He does it on purpose to put them in the middle of my driveway to block me. Not long ago, I was walking my dog while he picked up the trash. I live in a gravel court, and he sped up so much that gravels flew all over the place. Again, I have no clue why he is like this with me, but I do miss my previous driver who was awesome, and helpful. I have no choice but keeping them where I am... unfortunately.
